Ipsy Reveals Are Up for the May 2017 Glam Bag!

Here’s what I received:

This wasn’t a very useful bag for me. I requested the Urban Decay, so that’s my fault (turns out it not’s the best highlighter for my complexion), but the Trestique lip crayon is just awful (my profile specifically says NO REDS and boy is it ever), the lip balm tastes a little funny and apparently contains something I’m allergic to because five minutes after application my lips started to tingle and burn, and the nail polish, like the weird fleshtone polish last month, is in a bright sky blue shade I’m not sure I can wear. It’s a good quality lacquer and the color isn’t ugly by any means, just not sure what to do with it as I ordinarily opt for something a little more neutral. It and the lip crayon will probably go into my elementary schooler’s dress-up box for play time.

The brush is great, though. So far Ipsy’s batting a thousand where brushes are concerned.

I wish they paid closer attention to the profile and added a few more selections in slightly more conservative (but pretty and tasteful) colors. Maybe create another list for those of us over 30 who don’t want flesh colored fingernails, metallic eyeshadow, fluorescent lips or a highlighter that makes your cheeks sparkle like a disco ball. I keep trying to picture myself at a business meeting or at church, or maybe out with my spouse at a nice restaurant…perhaps the opera or ballet…with flesh-and-dead gray nails, sparkly eyeshadow and bright red lips, lol. It’s just not me. I do like the cute little bags and the decent brushes, but if they ignore my profile again and send me another bag filled with inappropriate selections I’m going to have to cancel. Ipsy was my first foray into the subscription box arena, so I’d love recommendations for other boxes that might be geared more toward my crowd.

Now can somebody please tell me how the heck to stay away from Ipsy offers? 🙂
I think nothing of spending $12 or $15 on something, especially if that something appears to be deeply discounted, but when you spend that regularly, it really adds up!

I am too weak to stay away… 🙁

I’m ok with everything except the eyeliner, it’s going up for swap

I’m searching for a bag twin but I guess I’m unique! Really happy with this bag–it’s my second one after a subscription test binge (Ipsy, Play, Birchbox, Glossybox, BoxyCharm). After 2 months I’m keeping Ipsy and Play, and I’ve dumped the rest.

I got my bag today but I am unable to review the product on ipsy. Anyone know how I can do it? I am only given the option to review the bag as a whole instead of the individual items.

I’m really satisfied with my bag this month. This is the first time I used my ability to choose an item, and I chose the brush. However, I feel as if I’ve already received the TreStiQue Lip Crayon in this color before, but overall still satisfied.

is anyone getting the estee lauder foundation compact? i requested it but they said they couldnt gaurantee it. and i’m not getting it from the spoilers. instead the mud mask which i really didn’t want because of the brand, brush, urban decay higlighter, lip pencil and eyeliner.

This is the first month that I’m getting 2 bags, and I’ve got to say I’m pretty disappointed. Not necessarily in the products.. but more so the fact that I got repeat products. Out of the 5 products in each bag, 3 of them are the same. So I’m getting 2 Luxie brushes, 2 UD highlighters in sin, and 2 Adesse nail polishes in surfer girl. 🙁 the other products in getting are the hey honey lip balm and trestique lip crayon in one bag, and the jelly pong eyeshadow duo and the mellow cosmetics lipstick. Looks like I need to go on the swap site this month..

Here’s mine. Ehh…Excited to try the mascara though! At least there’s no bronzer and nail polish. I’ve requested no polish several times.

Pretty high value bag if nothing else!Believe the brush is around $23, the nailpolish is $18? I believe. So just those 2 items is over $40, pretty darn good for $10!! Not to mention the 3 other items AND the bag, dunno how they do it!

I am pretty happy with my bag this month. I have gotten a few highlighters from this and sephora play but I’m really kinda getting into them right now. I always love a lippy (because lets be honest i use them twice and lose them) and I always love getting a brush although I was hoping to get a highlighter brush with all the highlighters I’ve been getting. Also How cute is that bag? I will be taking that with me to the beach for sure. I love getting the surprises in my bags every month so I’m supper excited to get this months bag.

How do you get multiple bags with different items? I wanted a 2nd bag to get more variety so I signed up for a 2nd sub, and I ended up with two identical bags, even with the profiles filled out differently. Is there some trick I’m missing?

I love all of the items except MAYBE the hair rescue masque but I need hair masques because I'm getting beachy waves put into my stick straight hair.. and blonde highlights done two weeks later.
