I've been subscribing to Birchbox since 2011, and I've discovered a lot of favorite beauty products through their boxes! I thought it would be fun to share two of my favorite product discoveries and ask everyone to share what some of their favorite products have been!

Here are two of my all-time favorites:

birchbox-favorites

EXO Pure Remover Nail Polish Remover - I love this nail polish remover! First, it doesn't smell like nail polish remover! It smells like lavender, and it is super gentle on my nails. Unlike acetone removers, this one doesn't dry out my nails/cuticles either.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick - This delivers exactly what it promises - a liquid lipstick with serious staying power. It wears down a bit throughout the day (I might reapply it in the afternoon), but otherwise, it is good to go. The matte finish is perfect for me, too. (I apply a clear balm over it for extra moisture.)

What are some of your favorite Birchbox product discoveries?

If you are new to Birchbox, it is a $10 a month beauty and makeup subscription box. Check out all of our Birchbox reviews to see what’s been in past boxes. And check out our Birchbox Spoilers to see what’s coming up in future boxes!

I was only with Birchbox for a year or so, and canceled before the point system was discontinued only because I was on product overload, but I did find a few favorites that I keep coming back to…

Amika Dry Shampoo
Kopari Coconut oil
Dr Brandt Microdermabrasion Exfoliant
Marcelle eyeliner

I actually cancelled and resubscribed to BB because of this topic. I cancelled because I was often underwhelmed and very makeup-focused at the time. (I still love makeup but I have room in my heart for other beauty products too now). But with all the mascaras we get in these sub boxes, for me, the standout was Lord & Berry Back to Black. I really loved that and I got it from Birchbox, back when you could pay an extra $20 and they would add 2 full size makeup or nail polish products each month. I cancelled when they took that away because those were the reasons I loved BB. I decided to give them another shot because I discovered my go-to mascara from them and I hope they send me other new loves. I would still be willing to up my montly cost to $30/month if they brought back that upgrade to 2 full size color cosmetics items.

What a fun survey! I have found some neat products through bb that’s for sure!!

To start with- here are some that made me purchase the product/brand after:
Paula’s Choice exfol
Laura Gellar baked blush grapefruit
Stila liquid lipstick

And some other faves:
Bb cream!! Have only had to buy a fullsize once in over a year! Marcelle golden glow, dr brandt, supergoop and more
Facial sunscreen
Super goop lip sunscreen
Beauty protector detangler and oil
Toni and guy sea salt spray
Benefit gimme brow- will have to buy more soon
Janie’s got a gun perfume wipe
Face wipe cleansers
Mirecellar cleansing water- lasts forever!!!

I am so well stocked now. I hardly ever have to buy beauty products and I love changing up my look with all the variety. I buy when i find something i love or when i want to splurge. I organize all mine with my bb boxes– one for cleansers, one for mascaras, one for hair products ect

BB introduced me to Oribe and I love it!!!
I’ve been able to try many brands thru my subs. I know everyone is different but I don’t understand the hype with many of the high end skin care brands.

Before I canceled after they dropped the review for points(still sucks, but seems like no one talks about this), I found a few great finds!

The pbj lip crayon is one of my fave lippies, as well as BB’s

The water bottle that was in a LE box(my fave one ever) , it was also in the Rachael Zoe box – forgot name but glass silicone covered
(Not tech beauty but hydration helps beauty, right?)

Cc cream that I used for my terrible dark under eye(it looks like I never sleep O_o )
And probably some others I can’t think of atm, it was a really great discover box while they made it worthwhile with points! (Just switched to Ipsy and like their points! – seems silly to ever remove hem, and subscribers go with!)

*please excuse any sleepy typos 😉

Also cancelled during that mass exodus. Fave items are the Davines clarifying shampoo and their volumizing shampoo and conditioner. First used the Avene moisture serum via them (though now use Bioderma one via Beautylish and a few products from The Ordinary line). The Parlor sea salt spray was a favorite for awhile, IPKN’s primer that makes my face look nice enough with nothing else and has that dewy glow. First had Chuao choco bars from them and got my first BKR glass water bottle from them as well. Caudalie divine oil. Oribe products, MCMC Phoenix perfume still love.

I used to buy so much stuff from them and add-ons every month and had been a customer for 5 years. Haven’t bought a single item from them since.

Tiffany

I too left because they dropped the points, its so disappointing, but I do save alot of money now.

Favorite, Roller Lash anything Benefit
Frat Boy Blush by The Balm
Mac Liquid Lipsticks
The Balm Liquid Lipsticks
Oribe Gold Lust Hair Oil
Neil George Shampoo
Jack Black Beard Lube
Brow Wiz Anastasia
Davines Hair Stuff, Dr Brant Face Stuff, Number 2 Hair Stuff
Shu Umeura Shampoo
The Milk Lip & Cheek Cream Blush
Hand De Fuko Shampoo
Oh Man, I could go on and on. Would have stayed forever if they hadnt dropped the points system. It Broke my Heart.

Michelle

Do you remember the brand of cc cream? I also have permanent dark circles & bags and I’m willing to try any new product them. Thanks!

Marina

Sadly it was lost so I am not sure of the brand, but it was one that often came. I believe I got it as a bonus w purchase, it could have been Marcella…not sure.
However it actually wasn’t that great of one, it just was the first I ever tried!( it did hide it some and didn’t enlarge pores)
On a side note, stay away from the pure c c stick. It was too dark and left me w prounonced pores w yellow tint! 🙁 ( I have very pale/fair skin)
I hear the previous one was better from ipsy( sorry I’m terrible w names!)
Hopefully we both can find a good one soon!

Marie

Beauty protector products – smells amazing and the conditioner always left my hair soft.

Amika dry shampoo – mainly because I love the smell and it works well enough

Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser – I like other cleansers better, but this was is still one of my faves.

Laura Geller baked blush, Glamglow dualcleanse and Chella eyebrow pencil

And my favorite find from this box wasn’t even a beauty product – the This Works sleep spray. It has worked wonders for me (yes, it does give you weird dreams or maybe just causes you to remember your weird dreams, I definitely noticed that) but I have since bought 2 full-size bottles with another on the way.

Tocca hand creams
Number 4 Fluoro5 Elixir Restore & Repair Oil
…and more!

I only had Birchbox for 6 months but I really did discover some good products at first. My absolute favorite discovery is the Davines OI All in One Milk. But I also fell in love with the Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle (the smell! ❤) and the Skin Food Black Sugar Mask. Also, I had heard of the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray before Birchbox but I had never tried it because of the cost but I was able to buy it at a pretty hefty discount in one of their sales. So it really doesn’t count as a discovery but I probably wouldn’t have tried it otherwise. And now it’s my holy grail hair styling product.

Michelle

Benefit gimme brow. But now I want to try the Roller Lash based on everyone’s comments.

And I am now convinced I just try Liz’s two favorites! Does that nail polish remover do a good job at taking off polish??

I desperately need a good acetone- free product, my nails and cuticles are so dry. I guess a base coat might help too.

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

I also listed that EXO polish remover as one of my favorite BB discoveries (actually, it’s my most favorite discovery 🙂 ), and it’s effective at removing basic polish, but you may need a regular polish remover if you have some with a lot of shimmer or texture, and definitely if you’re removing glitter polish. I find the polish remover is a bit slow to work its way through the top coat, but once it has penetrated it, it removes the polish just like any other polish remover. Plus, it’s incredibly moisturizing on your nails. It actually leaves a little oily film on them. I remove it right away since I always paint my nails again right afterward, but they stay moisturized without impacting the wear of the next polish application. Finally, my nails have never looked better since using this. Even though I wear polish all of the time, my nails still look incredibly healthy, as if I never wear anything, and I really think a lot of that has to do with this polish remover not stripping & drying out my nails.

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

Thank you, that’s good to know. I’m going to try it!

Liz l

Where do I begin?
OLO gardenia body serum
Smith and cult nail polish
English laundry spray
Kopari body scrub
Oribe dry shampoo
Tata Harper moisturizer

LE boxs have been the best for sure

Luna

My favorites (that I can think of right now) are:
– EXO nail polish remover
– Davines Love Shampoo & Conditioner
– Klorane Mango Shampoo (this was a GWP, but I think it still counts 🙂 )
– MD Solar Science Eye Emulsion
I know there are still many new favorite discoveries to be had, as I was subbed to BB for over one year and there are still a ton of samples (most mentioned in earlier comments) that I still haven’t gotten around to trying yet!

I love English Laundry Eau de Parfum Signature for Her. It’s my go-to fragrance! I use TONI&GUY Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray all the time now. I also love the brands Pixi and Derma E. There are so many more good finds from BirchBox, but these are my favorites. <3 🙂
