I received 8 "The Angel" razor cartridges with 5 blades each. I used the razor today and really liked it. It gave me a nice, smooth shave and I didn't get any razor burn, which I am prone to. The 5 blade razor has an additional razor at the top for those "hard-to-reach" areas as well. I've been using Angel Shave Club razors since July of last year and I love them.

The handle for the blades comes in three colors now: La La Love Pink, Rosebud, and California Kiss Blue. I received the rosebud handle and it feels quite a bit heftier than the first handle I received from Angel Shave Club! I found that the handle worked pretty well in the shower with slippery hands - it has grips and a bit of contouring that made it easy to grip.

Sugar and Fig Whipped Shaving Souffle - Value $10.95 (added-on price)

I received a new product from Angel Shave Club this month. It is a whipped shaving souffle that is packed with moisturizing (and delicious smelling) ingredients like sweet almond oil and aloe. It also has bentonite clay in the formula which is supposed to help the razor skim over the surface of the skin while shaving. I really love the scent of this product, and it seemed to work really well while shaving. I don't love the packaging because it's hard to get out in the shower without getting a ton of water in the container but that's a small complaint.

Verdict: For $18 ($9 every two months), you get 8 cartridge blades and a razor handle (for your first month) that are really great quality. I honestly liked these razors better than many of the subscription box razors I've tried in the past - they seem like they work better for me. I think $18 for 8 razors is excellent - it works out to about $2.25 per razor, compared to about $5.00 per razor for the leading brand at Target!

I also loved the shaving souffle that was included as an add-on in my box this month. I think it will last quite a while based on the amount that I used on my first try. It's a pricey item but if it lasts longer than my usual shaving cream, I think it's worth the cost.

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane...the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane...but she's always looking for a new subscription to try!

I would love to know how these blades compare to Dollar Shave Club. The price is pretty comparable, but I hate the “manly” Dollar Shave Club handle, and their blades give me razor burn. I am desperately trying to find a shaving sub that works for me!

I was a DSC subscriber (6blade $9/month plan) for over a year and switched ASC since last November since it was essentially the same price per blade.

Personally I like ASC better. I seem to get a closer smoother shave with their razor.

DSC is by no means bad at all, and the difference between the shave is not a huge difference but since it is the same price the ASC does work just a bit better for me and they have prettier handle I’ll stick to ASC.

Does the price lower after the first box since you’d only need the blades and not a handle each time? Or does it stay $18 regardless?

It does remain $18 regardless. And they only send one cap for the blade in the first box…they don’t even send one in subsequent blade shipments so if you lose it, you are out of luck. Also, doesn’t seem all that hygienic not to have a new cap with each razor, or at least after a few razors.

I will say, I really like the handle–it does have a nice weight. The blades are only ok, not bad but nothing special, and while my first order was packaged very nicely, others have come with the blades thrown into the box haphazardly.

Not sure if I’ll continue or not…I am curious about Dollar Shave Club and what those blades are like.

I too am interested in how these compare to Dollar Shave Club. Theirs are 4 blade and 6 blade comparing prices.

Have you tried Harry’s and can compare it to those? I tried those because I used Mach and just couldn’t justify the cost of blades… Harry’s seems ok, but I’m not sure if it’s “the one” for me.

Have you tried Dollar Shave Club? If so, how does Angel Shave Club’s razors compare? I like Dollar Shave Club, but their razors are so manly looking. Plus for the last two shipments, my package wasn’t closed correctly and my razor handles fell out. Frustrating!

I am very disappointed with these razors they are cheap and do not give a close shave I am going back to DSC
