Wantable Style Edit has been a major player in the subscription styling service market for over a year now, and they just started offering plus sizes at the end of July. I was thrilled to get the chance to try them out! When I signed up for this service, I took a pretty lengthy quiz in which I indicated my price, size, and style preferences. Wantable uses a great model of indicating what you love, what you like and what you dislike, for all their subscriptions! They send you more of what you love, and never what you dislike. I can go back and change my preferences at any time. Oddly, this is a listing of the preferences for my accessories subscription, and I noticed it last month as well. Very strange.
Below my preferences is a note from my stylist, Lauren. It explains why she chose the items she picked for me.
This is the invoice of the items they sent me this month. On the right, it shows my cost to keep each item. The total comes to $594. If I keep everything, I get 20% off, plus I get my $20 styling fee deducted. That brings the total down to $455.20 for a discount of $138.80. That's a deep discount!
I also received this little (somewhat belated) holiday greeting card!
Lace Trim Tunic by Emerald - Cost to Keep $45
This tunic is too small for me; I don't think it's supposed to be form fitting. As it is, it makes me feel a bit like a ballerina. That's not always a bad thing, but I don't think I would ever wear it out in public.
Cross Over Front Top by DEX - Cost to Keep $49
I love an interesting black top, and this one is pretty cute! The only problem is that I'm kind of uncomfortable with the design. The chest are is sewn shut, so no worries there, but the "cross over" section below that is actually completely open until it hits the hem, if that makes sense. I have the feeling I will at some point move in some awkward way, and my stomach will be totally exposed. I'm not keen on that idea.
Leggy Curvy Deep Army Jeans by James Jeans - Cost to Keep $195
This is the third or fourth pair of jeans I've received from James Jeans from subscription boxes. I bought one pair because they were totally amazing, but at this price point they would have to be! I don't love these as much, I just like them okay.
Denim Jacket Sweet Wash by Kut From the Kloth - Cost to Keep $89
Check out the sweet wash on this jacket, haha! I actually like my denim to be just a bit darker than this. I'm also not in the market for a denim jacket at the moment.
Floral Embroidered Tunic by Hayden LA - Cost to Keep $49
I love this tunic! It's just my style, and I absolutely love the yellow embroidery detail. I tend to love almost everything I get from Hayden LA. It's a boutique brand that I don't see too often, so I'm always happy to see it in my styling boxes.
Pencil Skinny Harrison Jeans by Melissa McCarthy for Seven7 - Cost to Keep $89
I love all jeans from Seven7, and these are no exception. They are super supportive without being too tight. These are also, shockingly, about the right length for me. I'm not really in the market for new jeans at the moment, but I am not sure I can resist!
Long Sleeve Woven Tunic by DE/nim - Cost to Keep $78
This tunic is not for me. I look okay in it, and it's a fun color, but it's not my style at all. I also am not a big fan of chiffon.
Verdict: I am really loving my Wantable Style Edit so far! I am so happy they sent seven items again this month! This month was a little odd, though, because I only really loved two pieces. I usually keep more than that! Despite the results I do think they did a great job sending pieces they thought I would love based on my preferences and my various notes I've sent to the stylists. Also, it bears repeating that sometimes I get something I would never have tried on at a store, and it winds up being my favorite piece. I love when that happens! So, it's often great when they push me a little outside my comfort zone. It didn't happen this month, but next month is just a few short weeks away...
