The Brush Wash Makeup Brush Cleaner with Brush Egg - Value $12
This is a makeup brush cleanser and brush egg duo from The Brush Wash, a woman-owned business. The soap is natural, vegan, and cruelty-free. I admit I don't wash my makeup brushes as often as I should. However, having this soap around will make cleaning faster and more convenient!
The brush egg is a silicone tool that helps to give brushes a deep cleanse. The bumpy texture facilitates lather. It's open on the bottom so you can slide it onto your fingers for better handling. I own and use a brush egg already so this one will be gifted.
Cosmic Bath & Beauty Mineral Eyeshadow in Hot Date - Value $6
Cosmic Bath & Beauty Mineral Eyeshadow in Celestial - Value $6
These are natural, handcrafted mineral eyeshadows from Cosmic Bath & Beauty, a woman-owned business. Hot Date is described as a mid-tone brown with warm purple undertones. Celestial is described as a pinky-brown with shimmer.
Here are the swatches. Hot Date has a satin finish while Celestial has a beautiful shimmer. There isn't too much fallout during application and staying power is ok without primer. I love neutral shadows so I will definitely use these two shades.
Crown Brush C208 Chisel Deluxe Fluff Brush - Value $2.79
This is a medium, semi-dense eyeshadow brush. It has stiff bristles, which is good for depositing lots of pigment onto the eyelid. It works with loose or pressed powders.
Crown Brush C138 Round Contour Brush - Value $1.87
This is a dense brush with a round, tapered end. It can be used in the outer corner of the eyelid or in the lash line. This one is a tad softer than the Chisel Deluxe Fluff brush. I like to rock subtle eye looks rather than intense smokey eyes, so the Round Contour is my preferred brush of the two.
Fornash St. John Scarf - Value $10
This is a lightweight scarf that measures 27.5" wide by 70" long. It's made from 100% viscose and is super soft to the touch. Subscribers received either pink or orange, and I am very happy to receive ink. The colorblock design isn't something I would pick out by myself, but it looks so adorable in hand. The scarf is acceptable for most seasons but probably best in spring and fall.
Verdict: I loved the curation this month! It had a fun combination of makeup, makeup tools, and accessory. Also, it's great to be introduced to so many woman-owned businesses! My favorite item is definitely the Fornash scarf. The brush egg makes a great gift, and I will use everything else. The total retail value is about $39, which is good for the $24 a month cost of the box.
