LitJoy Crate is a monthly literature and book subscription box for children and young adults! My favorite part about them is that they send new release books as well as book-themed items.

Mrs. Calls Chocolate Caramel Pretzels – Value $1.50

My husband and I just ate these pretzels – they’re so good. He described them as “a super snickers,” because of the chocolate, caramel, and crunch. The chocolate had great texture and flavor and just one pretzel was satisfying for each of us!

Simple Felt Heart Puzzle – Value $4

This puzzle is made with eco-fi (wool-free) felt made from 100% post-consumer plastic bottles. I didn’t know you could make felt from bottles! This is a cute little quiet puzzle that is great for introducing to toddlers. I don’t know if it would provide hours of fun, but I think it is definitely a nice project to focus on and help them with!

Little Saplings Wooden Heart Teether – Value $18

This teether is crafted from Hard Rock Maple, which is a wood that is non-splintering and naturally anti-bacterial. This is a great teething option and feels high-quality. I love that they also included a pouch because I think I’ll gift it to a friend, as Gideon has a little mouth full of teeth that don't need chewing teethers anymore!

The next item came in a little paper pouch…

Valentine Owl Picture Frame Craft Kit – Value $1?

This is a simple and sweet activity to sit and do with your little one. It’s just a little foam magnet picture frame (shaped like an owl) for you to tack a picture to and stick on the fridge. It’s a fun idea for a toddler that’s a little older than my son, though. You can see how the frame looks finished on the info card. It's cute!

Hugs & Kisses Board Book – Value $7.99

This book is an adorable story illustrated with animals, explaining how everyone needs hugs and kisses!

LitJoy-Crate-January-2017-items8

It talks a lot about emotions and how hugs, kisses, cuddles, and mom and dad help make you feel better.

LitJoy-Crate-January-2017-items9

I think it’s a very sweet book and I like that it is so emotionally aware and teaches to go to your parents for comfort and help moving past negative feelings.

I Love You Night & Day Board Book – Value $6.03 on Amazon (retail price $7.99)

I think I’ve actually received this book from a different children’s book subscription, but that’s okay because I love it and will be excited to gift it! It’s about a parent bear and baby rabbit and the parent is telling all about how much he or she loves the rabbit.

LitJoy-Crate-January-2017-items11

I love the rhythm of this book and how there is only a sentence or two on each page.

LitJoy-Crate-January-2017-items12

I also love how this book works great for any gender/race parent with any gender/race child! It’s a sweet book that I think is considerate of any family model.

Verdict: This was a pretty cute LitJoy Crate, with items chosen around Valentine’s so you have them in time! I love both the books they sent this month and the extras are all cute, too. The value adds up to $39. It wasn’t my all-time favorite box from them but overall, I’m happy with their January box!
