The profile you fill out when you sign up for Bookü asks about their grade, age, reading level, interests and also has a spot for you to the book picker anything else you want them to know about your child. This helps them get to know your child well and figure out the best books for them. Our books were based on my son’s profile so your child may receive completely different books.

The Remarkable Farkle McBride by John Lithgow – Value $6.94 on Amazon (retail price $7.99)

This book was written by John Lithgow, yes the famous actor! His rhyming in this book is amazing. It’s the story of a young musical genius named Farkle McBride who each year masters a new musical instrument only to tire of it the following year. After this pattern goes on for some years he learns that his true calling isn’t playing, but conducting. Rich illustrations by C.F. Payne round out this great book.

The Big Fat Cow that Goes Kapow by Andy Griffiths – Value $5.31 on Amazon (retail price $7.99)

Andy Griffiths writes over-the-top silly books filled with slapstick humor. This one is no exception. My son was able to read a lot of this book himself with the short sentences, rhyming words and picture clues to help him along. It’s made up of ten short stories and was a fun romp of a book.

Ed and Ted and Ted’s Dog Fred by Andy Griffiths – Value $15.99

This book was also written by Andy Griffiths but is one story, not a compilation. Ed, Ted and Ted’s dog Fred have a wacky adventure including being swallowed by a whale. It has a happy ending and lots of laughs along the way.

Verdict: Bookü was a huge success again this month! My son loved the selections they sent and so did I. I felt that our personal book picker did a great job selecting books based on his personal interests. For $22 a month, we received $28.24 worth of books (using Amazon pricing). We are a book-loving family and this subscription meets our needs well.
