Jelly Pong Pong Lip Butter in Owls - Value $18.95

Sadly this lipstick arrived a little damaged, but otherwise it is perfect.First, the packaging is all sorts of adorable! It has a fantastic fruity flavor, it is super moisturizing, and the pigment is fantastic, too. (Swatched in lower photo.)

Trifle Cosmetics Cheek Parfait - Value $18.95

This cheek stain is made with shea butter and coconut oil, so it feels great on your skin, and the pigment is incredible! This is one of those "a little goes a long way" shades, so I recommend just doing a few dots and blending in. (I swatched it in its full pigmented glory in a lower photo.)

So Susan Liquid Crystal Long Wear Lipstick - Value $18.33

so-susan-december-2016-0009

This liquid lipstick has more brown tones than the other shades, and it ended up being a great everyday color for me. It has good staying power and pigment, too.

Here are all the shades swatched:

So Susan Kabuki Brush - Value $22.95

This is a great quality brush - and the brush bristles are super soft, too!

Canvas Makeup Bag - Value $12

Every month includes a makeup bag with a colorful print on one side and a blank canvas on the opposite side. How cute are these musical penguins?!

And it is lined inside!

Verdict: This month's So Susan Lip Love bag has a value of about $81! (Or $91 if you include the value of the canvas makeup bag.) I think that value is fantastic for a $21 ingredient-conscious beauty subscription box. I would have preferred the Creamsicle balm formula to be less sticky, but otherwise, all the beauty products are wins for me, too.

I love this sub. I fell in love with So Susan from a product in my Lip Monthly sub. This picture makes the Owls lipstick look reddish, but mine looks bright pink, much pinker than the reddish blush. Great color, but the tube is hard to twist. I have found this before with these cardboard lipstick tubes. Great theory, keeping it biodegradable, but the it can be tough to get the lipstick to come up or go back down.

Like Liz, I also really liked the brown liquid lip. Overall, a winner every month!

I had this for a few months because I love the Trifle lipsticks. It just didn’t wow me like I was hoping so I cancelled. This is the best bag of items I’ve seen in months, wish they were consistently great.

This is my favorite subscription. All of the products look, feel, and smell good. Some of the products are different than I am used to (example: cheek jelly) but I have loved every last one of them. The brushes are amazing. This is an amazing value and I am always excited to open this package.

This is my favorite monthly box/bag I subscribe to. The products are usually full sized and come in the cutest packaging! Really feel I get way above and beyond my subscription cost.

I’m interested in swapping for the owl lipstick.

Do you think the Trifle Cheek Parfait could also be used on the lips?

Bonnie

That’s a tough one…sure you could use it on the lips, but it’s not a great fit. Might be a little drying, and hard to apply straight from the tube unless you have very full lips. It’s a lot wider than a lipstick.
