Trusty Pup Hen (orange) – Value $14.99
You can probably guess what happened when I gave a plush toy to Nyx, but she did have fun with it while it lasted! This was size-appropriate for a large-breed dog.
Petstages Sling Sock – Value $6.99
This is a good toy for fetching. Actually, Nyx has been more into fetching lately (at least as far as you can throw things in the living room). It was also size appropriate for Nyx. I would not recommend this for use as a chew toy, though, as it would be easy for a dog to eat the sock part.
Frisco Poop Bags (1 roll) - Value $0.56
You will always get a roll of dog waste bags in Pup Crate. Lately, they have been sending these Frisco ones. I think they are pretty sturdy which is important when picking up after a dog taking a massive amount of fiber like Nyx is…
Newman’s Own Snack Sticks Chicken and Rice Recipe (4 oz) – Value $4.89
These are made in the USA and free of wheat and corn (they do have some soy). They have very good reviews on Chewy.com, as well (click the product name to see).
Buddy Biscuits with Peanut Butter (6 oz) – Value $5.69
My cats love the cat version of Buddy Biscuits so much, I sometimes forget they make dog treats too. These are a semi-moist type of treat and they are grain free and free of soy and eggs as well. They actually don’t have any animal protein in them either (except some gelatin) so they may be a good choice for dogs with allergies.
Nyx thought this was pretty fun. Also, she looked ridiculous playing with it, which made it more fun for me!
Verdict: I calculated a value of $33.12 for the November PupCrate. That is a little above the cost of the box and a better value than last month. I think that is a pretty good deal considering that all of the items are currently in production from the manufacturers (no closeouts), and I think the toys were more size-appropriate for a 90 pound dog than usual this month (although they would also be good for somewhat smaller dogs – 50+ pounds is a big category).
