This month, Ivory Clasp sent an invoice in the box. This is a very simply packaged subscription box - the purse comes in a non-marked box, and there are very few accouterments!

When you sign up for your account, you do a full survey to give them an idea of what bags you would most like and Ivory Clasp offers a phone consultation as well.

Steven Elsa Satchel - Value $117.95

For my fourth month of Ivory Clasp, I received a Steven by Steve Madden bag, with real suede accents.

ivory-clasp-novemebr-2016-back

I really love the color of this bag. It's perfect for winter!

ivory-clasp-november-2016-outside-pocket

The back of the bag has one pocket toward the top - look at that fun lining!

ivory-clasp-november-2016-inside

The inside has the same fun lining with three pockets - one zips shut and the other two are open. This bag will hold a lot...I'm not even kidding when I say that when I packed it, it was so heavy!

ivory-clasp-november-2016-day-look

I put together a 'day look' for this bag - which was pretty simple. The bag will go with most colors, but the style is a little more tough to match. I just wore my Karen Kane Tunic, ruched Vince Camuto skirt, and  Born Boots. I didn't want to go too costumey, which I think is a risk with a statement bag like this!

Verdict: This bag is valued at $117.95 (but on sale for quite a bit cheaper online) and I paid $45.00. I think that is a reasonable value for the bag - it at least met the cost of the box, even with the bag being on sale in some places. Is it my style for every day? Probably not. I tend to go with more sleek bags that don't make as large of a statement!

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane...the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane...but she's always looking for a new subscription to try!

Uhhh, so I paid to return my first bag (with tracking) because it was some weird mauve bowling bag with ZERO pockets, and they got it on 12/13. They emailed the next day to ask if I wanted a refund or a replacement, so I asked for a replacement AND I sent them photos of all the bags on their IG I really liked, just so they’d get a better idea of my style. I’ve emailed twice now to find out the status of the replacement and…crickets. 2/7 will not be continuing with this crappy sub.

I received my first bag this month and boy was it a miss! I specifically said (in fact, I think it was the only stipulation I mentioned) that I did not want a bag that had brown accents (i.e. another color all over, with brown straps, pocket flaps, etc.) What did they send me? A big old floppy black bag with brown accents, and fringe covering one entire side of it, that was longer than the bag itself. It was such a disappointment.

I emailed their customer service and explained that my request had been ignored. They apologized and sent me a prepaid shipping label! I sent the purse back last week, and emailed for a status update yesterday. Their customer service agent said it had not been delivered yet, but that they would restyle me once it was. Their customer service was friendly and responsive, and hopefully my next bag will be more to my liking!

Wow, this one is the best to date. I like the look of this one. (It’s definitely not costumey compared to the tan choice!!!) The color is nice and you can definitely pull it off. I think it would look good “dressed down” in black jeans and heather (or darker) gray shirt. (I’m not a stylist, so don’t hold me to that!)

My first and last IC bag was a royal blue duffel/barrel (?) style. I’m giving it to my seven year old niece. But, I know everything is not always a perfect fit. Thanks for modeling for us the past few months! Its been so much fun watching you dress for your purse.

Oh, and just me being nosy, have you made any progress on that purse you were telling your husband about?

I received the same royal blue duffel/barrel (?) style, and I hate it. It didn’t match my style quiz at all. I’ve emailed them about exchanging or returning it, but haven’t received a reply.

they normally say keep the bag or donate it. and send u a different bag. u can ask for phone style help or a more detailed one on email. they are the best in customer service i mean that

Kim

I probably got the same in black. I like it in black. It is not 100% my style but I will definitely use it. I like that it is different from what I usually carry. I plan on getting out of my predictable zone in 2017. Accessories is a good start.

Not sure if I would have liked the blue. It is really blue!

I got that too! So much for personalized matches to quiz…

Keri S.

Kim, that’s the first thing I thought when I saw mine. What in the heck did I put on that quiz??? The only thing I could think of was that I wanted to try a new style because I usually end up buying totes and I wanted something a little more fashion-based. Definitely not what we received. I just canceled and made a note not to buy purses that I haven’t previously seen or touched. Ivory Clasp is a nice company, just not for me.

i got a flat burgundy austin & york tote, but it was the slouchy kind and i prefer structured bags that can stand up. they said i could return it but i would have to pay for shipping it back, which makes sense because otherwise people would just return bags all day long. i wish there was a way to preview a few bags and just pick one, but i like the option of being able to exchange for another.
