This month’s Gift Izzy information card told the story behind the beautiful scarf included this month made with 100% hand-knitted cashmere from Mongolia.

Starfish Project Mother of Pearl Earrings - Value $24.99

These mother of pearl earrings are from Starfish Project. This website and mission are new to me and I’m so thankful that I’ve learned about them through Gift Izzy. Starfish Project’s mission is to help women escape exploitation and human trafficking in Asia. The purchase of one pair of these earrings equals the cost of one week of room and board at the Starfish project shelter. There are many other beautiful items for sale at Starfish Project and I think a gift that supports a meaningful charity like this is always worth considering.

Gift Izzy Limited Edition Hand-Knitted Mongolian Cashmere Scarf - Value $195.00

What a beautiful scarf! This 100% cashmere scarf is hand-knitted from fine goat hair. Cashmere is warmer and less bulky and itchy than wool. The color is a pale caramel that will match most anything in my closet. Gift Izzy’s card mentions that this scarf will grow even softer with wear. It is certainly the most expensive scarf I’ve ever owned!

Deco Miami Polish - Value $12.50

Deco Miami Polish is 8-free and highly pigmented. This color is called Don’t Call Me Baby and is a medium shade of pink with blueish undertones. This color is perfect for my skin coloring – yay! I think of this as more of a spring/summer shade so I will be hanging onto this for warmer weather.

Mini Coloring Book and Pencils - Value $3.00?

This coloring book is filled with interesting geometric designs and the tiny box of colored pencils is perfectly sized for the book. I’ve been tucking it into my bag as a fun activity when I’m caught waiting somewhere with my son to keep him occupied.

Verdict: I really enjoyed my Gift Izzy box this month. The value is $235.49 which I think is fantastic. The scarf is unique and delicate and the polish is one of the best colors (to me) that I’ve ever received in a subscription box. I loved learning about Starfish Project as well. Gift Izzy’s packaging, quality, and curation are top notch. I anticipate receiving this box more than any other women’s lifestyle box. I highly recommend it!

The scarf is tiny. I have been really disappointed in this box. Everything is super inflated, too. And it does not swap well. I may give it another chance when I see what February brings, but I think I am moving this money over to Happy Rebel. I don’t really like the “happy rebel” thing, but the stuff is usable, different and the owner is nice

At first I thought those earrings were teeth

I thought the EXACT same thing! I felt so bad because the company does such good things, but when I saw the earrings I thought, “Aw, those definitely have a “teeth-like” quality to them……..” :/
