BoxyCharm January 2017 Spoiler!

Just a question please,isn’t this format for discussing subscription boxes ? The good and the bad.And why do some subscribers feel their opinions are the only ones that matter.I like to hear and read all opinions not just the good and nice.We are all allowed to have feelings and opinions. And just a thought I for one am going to try in the new year to remember everyone’s opinion matters.Have a happy New Years everyone .

Is it possible that the gals who are getting old items as variations are “new” subscribers, and the gals who’ve complained they’ve gotten dupe items play the unsub/resub game? If they unsubbed after getting these items the first time, then resubbed again, Boxy cannot track that stuff or be blamed for having them down as a “new subscriber” who will be sent some past stock as a variant. Its the price you pay for unsubscribing to save money.

It seems that Boxy sends only new products as variants to their longterm subscribers – I’ve remained a constant subscriber for over a year, and have never gotten a duplicate item for a variation. *knocks on wood* Even when I WANTED to get something I loved again, it’s never happened. I prefer never getting a dupe to getting frequent dupes of things I didn’t love or use yet…but I pay for that privilege by never skipping a box during a tight time or when I disliked spoilers. If you skip, you are accepting the fact that with Boxy you will probably get a repeat item as a variant when you resubscribe – just know that now.

I hate variations because I never get the item I want, but I think that Boxy is being very shrewd…why liquidate old stock at a lower price, when older stock is new to a “new subscriber” who presumably missed it the time before? It’s kindof crap, and I’d like to nab liquidated past box items on sale, but if this process saves Boxy money so they can put it into higher value box items, I’m down. Perhaps Boxy balances it out by sending new subscribers old crap plus one of the better new variants? While I appreciate Boxy keeping dupes away from the old dawgs, I do think they should show us a bit more love by sending us the higher-value coveted new variants – I constantly seem to get lower value variants while newbs get the good stuff, and I’m getting sick of it.. But if we bail, then Boxy can send us repeat crap when we return too… Just my thoughts.

I just subbed to BoxyCharm a few minutes ago, actually hoping to get that Pure palette in the December box, but I’m waitlisted until who knows when! It said something about that I might get a Feb box :0 I did not anticipate that.. especially with no coupon, I might cancel.

I love boxycharm! I can’t have enough highlighters or eyeshadow palettes. Please let me build my makeup collections and have options. I’ve been a charmer for more then two years and I think that boxycharm 2016 was on a mother level. They outdid themselves and put the rest of the subs to shame.
I calculated that from January to December the total boxes value was over $1500 ( the annual payment was $231)
I have a 7 palettes, including a magnetic one, Ofra liquid lipstick in everyday colors and party colors, bronzes blushes, liners, endless brushes, lips crab ( December box) and some other hair care and skin care ( which I care less for) I can say that I use all the makeup and tools. Never give them away, I’m less into the personal care which I get less in BC anyway.
I personally spend less in Sephora due to the BC service. I mostly spend money on color completion products which don’t come in BC and anyway I’d be very sceptical changing since my skin is sensative and brakes easily

I got this in my November box. It is nice, but I don’t need anymore “Made in China” Cr@p

I actually really likes the highlight we got a few months back it is a bit powdery but I always use a liquid or a cream highlight first and then layer it and it stays on great. I’m very thankful for boxy charm

I loved the months previous to December. December was terrible. If January isn’t better, I will be unsubscribing. Boxycharm has got to get their sh*t together!

I have just one word — “Ipsy”!! Boxycharm has absolutely sucked in my opinion the past few months. I continue to get leftovers and my boxes are nothing like the ones the youtubers get. Last month was a dumb little makeup remover rag and a dried up lip liner. I definitely don’t want another one of their highlights, got a similar one two months ago and it was awful. I have been thrilled with my $10 Ipsy bags for almost three years now. Sephora Play is great too, since they send many high end products. Boxy is so not worth the $20. Sure they send full sized products but they are things no one wants. And watch out for the retail prices they tag on the items. A little research will show that those prices are way overinflated. I’m over Boxycharm and their cons.

I’m excited about it, only because I’m a makeup newbie and don’t have a huge arsenal yet. I also repurpose things like crazy, and the last highlighter is a bit too dramatic for everyday wear, so I also use it as eyeshadow and as highlighter for my lipstick (it makes a really nice ombré lip). I love the purple OFRA lipstick, too, and wear it every other day, mostly alone, but I also mix it with other lippies, and the rose quartz highlighter, too. 🙂

I got the highlighter last month and I wasn’t impressed. So now I’ll have more of it I guess. I hope they give me a wow item in January because my boxes have been lacking.

I unsubscribed due to this spoiler and the fact that there’s way too many variations now. This will be 2 highlighters in a row… plus, I got the iceleandic pen plus a pur serum for under the eyes 2 months in a row. They should track which products they’re sending to people so we don’t get stuck with a bunch of variations of the same product 🙁

I am passing on this too. I unsubscribed from BoxyCharm this month. I am tired of the variations, and I already have about 4-5 powder highlights, including the Vintage rose gold highlight from a few months ago. I keep an eye out for the spoilers for what they are guaranteeing. If it is worth it, i’ll join to get the next months box. I see its more of the same, so i’ll put my money elsewhere.

I am so excited about the highlighter! I got one last month and I love it!

I love highlighters and I didn’t receive any that have been given out so I’d love to try it

The purple lipstick works great as eyeliner or eyeshadow! Also, I tried it on my lips with a light hand then a bright red color over it and blot. I ended up with a gorgeous grape-berry shade which I’m now obsessed with. I only get two boxes so I tried to not waste anything lol 😃💄

PASS! not because it looks bad, it looks amazing but I have 6 highlighters right now 6! and one face, and since the Ofra one pretty much covers every color I’d want in a high light I’m out, I did break down and get the December box, because I am intrigued by the purple lipstick and figure that the PUR palette is 50 bucks so I got my 21 dollars worth there, if I hate the lip it was FREE.

I’m new to Boxycharm. I started with Nov box. I’m thrilled to get all the highlighters they are different colors and are beautiful. Everything they have sent I love. I can’t use everything but I’m a collector and I love to share soooo I’m very pleased.

I wish all subscribers will get this on January Box. A lot of people does not like how Boxycharm send out variation boxes. I’ve been a subscriber for quite some time now and they had been good before–every subscriber will get the same products on each box. But theyre not like that anymore. Will give one more try, if i get junks i will stop subscribing.

Bummer. I too got the highlighter a couple months ago. It’s fine and pretty packaging and color but it’s in my drawer because a) it’s winter and b) it felt too fussy to try to figure out highlighting. Now to get two more, eh. I think they need to be a little seasonally appropriate. No bronzer in October and December either! It doesn’t make sense. I still love Boxy but it seems like they did much better before their variations. Last month sucked for me, total disappointment and this month I was happier (same box as Liz) but that lipstick, oof! You would think they’d realize very few people can pull that off.

On another note- ipsy is far and away better when it comes to their app and website. Boxy doesn’t have an app, – and their website is atrocious! It feels like some kid did it who had a 101 web design class in high school. They need to get with the times and upgrade! Stop focusing so much on the annoying instagram stories with those two chicks and put together an accessible site and/or app.

Nobody wants to feel like you’re getting some product line leftovers in your box…

I adore the highlighter from last month and am happy to have more. I thought the eyeshadow palette this month was stunning. My favorite of all of them so far. I’m always happy when I get a palette. The purple lipstick was a disappointment only because there is literally nowhere I can wear it to without looking like a fool. I’m too pale for it and I’m a medical professional. My patients would think I was nuts. I don’t go out a lot because I work so much. I love the formula I just wish they’d sent a more wearable color. Not everyone is able to pull off a color that dark. It will go to waste in my drawer.

I didn’t get the Vintage highlighter last month, so I’m really looking forward to this. ❤️

Vintage’s website has some gorgeous looking eyeshadows and lippies…why can’t they put those in our box instead of another highlighter. Love Boxycharm but just not into highlighters. Guess I’m just too old. Lol

I love the Vintage Highlight from last month’s box. I used everyday this month. I like different looks and get a kick out of it. My co-workers and customers say that I can pull off anything. I see hundreds of customers a week one on one. I tell them about MSA site and about how many different subscription boxs their are and they say they’ll check it out. But I’m at a advantage because I’m in the beauty industry for over 20 years and I wouldn’t have it anyway.

I loved my Vintage Highlighter I got in November and these colors look just as beautiful! I can’t wait!! I already hit pan on the Rose Gold one 🙂
PS. The ones that are bummed about getting a highlighter, these shades look like they could be potential eye shadow colors or blush toppers. 🙂
