Now, onto the items!

beautyfix-december-2016-0008

Alterna Caviar Miracle Multiplying Volume Mist - 1.4 oz Value $8.15

beautyfix-december-2016-0009

I LOVE the Alterna product line (their formulas smell fantastic and are free of parabens, phthalates, and sulfates.) So, I was excited to try this. (Plus I can always use more hair volume.)

This spray worked well for my hair. It's lightweight, and it added enough texture that my hair had more shape, but I could still run my fingers through my hair. (I'm guessing if I overdid it on spraying, that wouldn't be the case, though.) I'd recommend this if you are looking for some additional subtle volume but still want a natural look and feel.

beautyfix-december-2016-0006

Color Wow Kale Cocktail Bionic Tonic - FULL SIZE! Value $24

This tonic is designed to help fight the damage and breakage that can come from coloring your hair. You apply a small amount to towel-dried hair, and it's a leave in treatment. It left my hair feeling super soft, and I like the scent, too. (It gets rave reviews, too.)

One word of caution - be careful opening this bottle - it is filled to the brim!

beautyfix-december-2016-0007

Ren Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream - 15 ml Value $13.50

Ren is another brand I'm always happy to see in subscription boxes - their formulas are free of just about any ingredient you might want to avoid, and they work well, too!

This cream is lightweight, absorbs relatively quickly, and it has a subtle, natural scent. This cream should work for everyone but was specially designed for sensitive skin. I highly recommend it, too. It left my skin feeling SO soft!

beautyfix-december-2016-0010

Danielle Creations 24K Gold Plated Nail Clipper - Value $9

beautyfix-december-2016-0011

This is the fanciest nail clipper ever!

beautyfix-december-2016-0012

I really like that Beauty Fix has been including a tool in every box lately. (And this one is as practical as it is shiny!)

beautyfix-december-2016-0014

DHC Velvet Skin Coat - .18 oz Value $7.50

This makeup primer is pretty amazing. It goes on as a clear gel, and it did a great job at "blurring" my pores and making them less visible. Plus, it left an almost powdery finish - perfect for applying makeup.

beautyfix-december-2016-0015

Dermalogica Charcoal Rescue Masque - 22 ml Value $13.80

This is a clay mask that dries in about 7-10 minutes. It did a great job of making my skin feel incredibly clean - I just am not a big fan of the scent!

beautyfix-december-2016-0019

Dermelect Me Nail Polish in Hold Me - FULL SIZE! Value $14

(Colors subscribers receive will vary.) Here it is on:

beautyfix-december-2016-0024

That's only one coat! I'm impressed with this polish. The color is gorgeous too, the multicolor micro-glitter gives a galaxy vibe to the black base.

beautyfix-december-2016-0016

Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Lip Satin in Velvet - FULL SIZE! Value $48

beautyfix-december-2016-0017

This product is described as a stain/gloss hybrid. It gives a satin finish (just a hint of shine.)

beautyfix-december-2016-0018

This shade is a pretty bold red, but the good news is that you can tone it down a bit by only applying a bit at a time. Here it is swatched:

beautyfix-december-2016-0023

It felt pretty moisturizing on my lips, too. (Not always the case with stains!) But since this is a gloss/stain hybrid, it also didn't have the same staying power as a standard stain.

beautyfix-december-2016-0022

Glytone Mild Cream Cleanser - 1 oz Value $6

This is a cotton-candy-pink cream cleanser! It's not foaming, super gentle, and did a great job of cleansing my skin without stripping it of moisture.

beautyfix-december-2016-0020

Nuxe Multi-Purpose Dry Oil - .33 oz Value $7.40

I've sampled this dry oil before thanks to subscription boxes, but it is still such a treat to receive in a box! You can use it on your face, body or hair to add a little shimmer and glow. (It looks super shimmery in the bottle, but it blends out well once applied.)

Verdict: This box has a value of about $151! I'm always so impressed with this subscription. They always deliver on quality skincare products, and there's usually a beauty tool or makeup product in the box to round it out. The December box feels extra decadent, too. I think this is one of my favorite Beauty Fix boxes of all time.

What do you think of the December 2016 Beauty Fix box?

When can I sign up for the BeautyFix January Box? When I go to their website, it just says that December is sold out, but nothing about January. I would like to sign up monthly, but not sure when the January box even comes out? Thank you for help!

The January BeautyFix Box was released today so you should be able to subscribe.

Thanks… just ordered!

Melissa

RRRRRR!!! Now I’m getting mad! I finally received my replacement box in the mail. After waiting so long, I only received 1 box!!!! I’m supposed to get 2! It even says on the order form quantity 2! Now I have to get back in touch with CS and wait for a whole other box!!! These are suppose to be gifted for Christmas! I’m so MAD!!!! Sorry guys… just had to vent!

Melissa

Just talked to CS. I feel a bit better now. She made me a new order for the other one right away. I’m still upset that I have to wait even longer now though. She said my order showed that 2 were shipped. Not kidding! So, why did I only get 1? The order form clearly says 2. Oh well.. nothing I can do, but wait… again. I am happy that they are sending the other one at least. Did anyone else not receive all their boxes?

I got a really pretty forest green nail polish that I am very happy with. This was a great box this month!

As promised, I received this box as a replacement for the mystery box. So sorry to hear that others had CS issues. I kind of feel like I hit the sub lotto as I love all of the products that I received.

I just got mine too. Mine is missing the primer, but I paid $15 for the mystery box, got the mystery box, the “Best of Beautyfix II” (yeah right! I called again cause they had promised the December box), and this box, so I really can’t complain. The mystery box had an expired product but a couple or so good items and I liked the mirror and DermStore lip quench that came in the overall terrible Best of Beautyfix II box, and I really like everything in this box. It doesn’t seem worth it to call a 3rd time to ask for just the primer! I got more than my money’s worth by now. The primer sounds great, but I’m excited to try everything other than the dry oil, which will be gifted or swapped. My nail polish is the color “Kiss Me,” which is a pretty, sparkly burgundy.

Teri

I am not sure why I haven’t tried primer before now as I feel like I could have definitely benefited from it. (Maybe I didn’t want to add ANOTHER step to my morning routine or spending the extra time and $$ to research all the different brands….yadda, yadda, yadda) I have 3 more primer samples headed my way this month and plan on having a primer showdown. What I can tell you right now is that this primer feels sooooo soft that I see why they call it Velvet Skin Coat.

Baotran

That’s such a shame people had such a bad experience 🙁
I’d been so out of the loop I had no idea there was an expired products debacle at all until I got emails they’re sending me replacement boxes. I literally did nothing. I didn’t have to send the old boxes back or anything either. 1 of the replacements was the December box too
Beautyfix and Dermstore has been great to me, so I feel really bad. It, Ipsy, & Sisley are the only beauty subs I still have.

I received no email or apology. I originally bought two. When I called about the expired product they offered to send me a December box. What I received was another old box. So I called and I was told they had run out of the December box. This was on Monday. So I find it odd that this post said they are still available. I would have bought one. I had the best opinion of Beautyfix before this. But they could have handled this much better.

Becca

I loved this box. I always love everything they send. I got the Sleigh ME nailpolish which is pale gold with sparkles. They handled the mystery box fiasco great with me and sent another November box. Unfortunately they could not keep up with all the replacement boxes they needed to send out. The November boxes ran out so they sent the best of boxes which were just as bad as the mystery boxes. I have been subscribed for eight months and have never had any problems. Their monthly boxes are great.

Very happy with this box!

I’m madly in love with this subscription box! This is my 6th box in a row, and it has never let me down (knock on wood). I’ll also add that I can be very particular so the fact that I’m yet to be disappointed says it all. There is generally one product in the box alone that will cover the cost of the box in it’so entirety. This month is the color wow bionic tonic at $24. This box always has high end products that make me feel good. If you like getting facial and hair products, you’ll love this box. I highly suggest! I also love this box because I get to try tons of anti-aging creams without paying hundreds of dollars.

December was a but of a miss for me. The nail polish is white glitter for me, reminiscent of what I’d wear as a preteen. That lip gloss is absolutely horrible. No staying power, yet it stains everywhere you don’t want it to. The nuxe oil… I think it is okay in summer, but too much glitter for my taste. I think glitter mostly belongs to the under 13 crowd during winter (I’m 26 with the face of a 15 yr old, so maybe I am just a little paranoid when it comes to this kind of thing). Good box for a present for any preteen on your list for the holidays, though. That said, the gold clippers are quite well made, nice surprise. Oh, and the ren lotion, I found it had a weird residue, but maybe that’s just me. I gave that away and tossed the lip gloss.

Denise

I used the lip gloss today as blush. Took a little dab and blended in well. Looked great.

Marion

What a good box! I’d use almost everything in it!

So of course I was one of the people who got the expired box and was told I would get December as a replacement. When I heard other people were getting the best of beautyfix box (aka July 2015 – hair clips + a mirror and toner spray) I asked customer service again and they reassured me I’d get December. But of course I didn’t. Emailed them about it and they didn’t respond (5 days later and still no response) so I did a live chat today to complain about the whole thing and wow I should’ve done a live chat to begin with.

Girl was very apologetic and offered me a full refund. So now I got the mystery box and the best of beautyfix for 100% free. Pretty happy with it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Nan

Well, you’ve had better luck with them than me lol.

Reply ButtonReply

Kp

Yup I got July box in the first place I checked if they were expired. At least 1 or 2 were pretty old so they said they would send a replacement box. December’s. They sent me julys again lol n told me no it’s not the same. So they just refunded me. Now I have 4 july boxes. Cuz I ordered 2. I guess .my skin been real sensitive lately so I’m scared to use em

I had the same experience. I have never had a bad experience with them in the past when I belong to the sub. Was disappointed with mystery box but they made it right for me. I went ahead and rejoined the monthly sub as this month looks awesome.

Rakshanda

Have to second Beth on this one .. I was planning to join them in January after my glossybox ended ..but after the mystery box debacle and the even worse box sent to compensate for that fiasco … I am better off with glossybox or the lookfantastic box looks interesting too

Lindsey

I got the replacement box, and none of the items are old, so improvement there. I actually loved the replacement box. I have always wanted to try devacurl. I think they handled it well. I didn’t notice the expired product until they emailed me, so no complaints for me there. I love beauty fix, Dec wasn’t my favourite, the lip gloss is just awful, but the best of replacement box is great imo, and other months have been good.

Kp

There’s atkeast 1 product that is 3 year’s old in there when I checked the codes for them

Renee

That was unfortunate, no doubt, and I had to deal with it. Their monthly sub, though, is outstanding. I love this sub, just won’t do their mystery box again!

Reply ButtonReply

KarenG

I agree. I’ve never been disappointed with Beautyfix. The mystery box was mismanaged and it wasn’t good. That being said, they sent me the November box as replacement.
They need to quit it with that stupid hair growth thing. I think that’s the only sucky thing they’ve ever sent me.

Renee

I adore this box. The Wow is amazing. I got two boxes, with the silver/gold shimmer and the deep red polishes; both are gorgeous. REN and Dermalogica are favorites. I’d give up all other boxes before this one. Great customer service, too.

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole

This was a great box for beauty fix! Even if you wanted to try just the color wow or Kevyn aucoin you are basically getting everything as a bonus. I got the deep red polish which is very holiday and pretty. I cancelled the day before this came out waiting to see spoilers thinking I have enough stuff and immediately signed back up.

Beth

No, their company has ruined any interest I could ever have in their products. After getting one of their mystery boxes – containing only junk (samples and the famed expired hair growth serum — yes, an expired drug!) – I complained. I asked if they could send the Dec. box as a replacement.

In response they sent me a new mystery box – a new box of junk! This one with a handful of samples – many labelled “not for resale” or were clearly originally part of a boxed set of items, including one item manufactured on 2014.

After much back and forth I did get a refund, but likely only because I said I planned to report them for violating FDA policies by selling expired drugs.

There are so many appropriate ways they could have handled the situation that occurred with the first box. They chose none of then. Given that, they will never get another penny from me!

Reply ButtonReply

Nan

I’m not happy with them either. I emailed them regarding my issues with that mystery box and they never even responded!

Reply ButtonReply

Anya

Same here. A week had gone by and nothing, no response to my email. Had to call them and spoke to a robotic agent, but it got resolved.

Denise

Wow, I am surprised. I am a regular subscriber and also bought a mystery box. I got the expired product as well. Sent them an email. And they sent me an extra December box as replacement.
