Julep Nail Polish in Steph - Value $14

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0033

When I first saw this nail polish I assumed it would be a sheer top coat with a hint of shimmer and sparkle. But! It's full coverage in two coats:

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0032b

I love this shade! It has a hint of shimmer, and this is a nice snow-white color for winter!

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0021

Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Facial Primer and Brightener – 7 ml Value $6.75

I’ve sampled this primer before and it works well! My skin feels smoother and ready for makeup. I can’t say I notice any special difference between this and other primers, so I likely wouldn’t buy this in full-size, but I’ll use every drop of this sample.

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0011

Ahava Time to Clear Purifying Mud Mask - .68 oz Value $4.90

This is a 2-minute mask! (Yay for quick beauty treatments!) Most mud masks leave my skin feeling really clean, but this one also left my skin feeling super soft - I definitely recommend it.

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0014

Marvis Cinnamon Mint Toothpaste - 10 ml Value $2.40

Mini toothpaste is something I'm always happy to get in subscription boxes for travel. And this one is extra fancy and cinnamony!

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0013

PHYTO Express Conditioner - 50 ml Value $8.70

This conditioner is designed for color-treated hair, and it's also free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. I found it to be more moisturizing than my regular conditioner, and it didn't leave my hair feeling weighed down, either. I rarely splurge on expensive shampoo and conditioner, and I didn't love this enough to justify buying the full-size version after the sample runs out, but it's a nice treat!

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0012

Cindy Crawford Meaningful Beauty Skin Renewing Peel - 10 ml Value $8.50

This is a quick peel (you only leave it on for 5-10 minutes). It was super gentle on my skin, but I really couldn't notice any difference in my skin after removing it, either.

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0015

Juice Beauty Stem Cellular CC Cream in Natural Glow - 5 ml Value $3.90

This sample is the lightest shade. Here are all the shades available:

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0016

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0017

I've sampled this before, and I love that the formula is natural and organic. (It also has that classic Juice Beauty green apple scent!) Personally, I prefer a full coverage CC cream, but if you are looking for a minimal makeup look, this is a great product. Here it is swatched:

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0037

It is a good match for my skin tone, so it's barely there in the picture.

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0018

Bliss Triple Oxygen Ex-Glow-Sion - 5 ml Value $6.40

This cream is super moisturizing, and it gave my skin a matte finish too!

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0019

MD SolarSciences Daily Anti-Aging Moisturizer - .25 oz Value $12.50

This sunscreen is lightweight and absorbs quickly (plus it is free of parabens, sulfates and phthalates.) My only complaint is that this sample is pretty tiny!

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0020

Proraso After Shave Balm - 15 ml Value $2.40

I was a little surprised to see a men's grooming product in this box, but there are so many samples in this box, I really can't complain! This isn't a product we'll use, but it will be donated!

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0023

La Roche-Posay Anti-Ageing Concentrate - 5ml Value $9.50

This Anti-Aging concentrate is lightweight, absorbs almost immediately, and felt great on my skin. (It's made with retinol and designed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.)

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0026

Obliphica Seaberry Hair Serum - 15 ml Value $8.75

This hair serum is for medium to coarse hair - which works well for me. The scent is similar to the Beauty Protector line (another plus), and it was lightweight and left my hair softer and shinier!

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0027

Agave Oil Treatment - 4 ml Value $1.60

This hair oil is paraben, sulfate, and phthalate free. And! It has a lovely coconut/tropical scent!

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0034

Skin & Co. Roma Eye Concentrate - 5 ml Value $22

This is a great sized sample! (1/3 the size of the full-size version.) This is another lightweight lotion that absorbs quickly. It has a powdery scent (not my favorite, but not bothersome) and was gentle on my skin.

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0035

NuFACE Prep-N-Glow Cloth – Value $1

This is not a typical makeup remover cloth! One side is for cleansing and the other side has micro-dots for exfoliating. It did an excellent job of removing my makeup, and it left my skin hydrated, too.

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0036

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Mineral Water Gel - 1.5 ml Value $.90

And this box also included several cologne and perfume samples:

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0028

John Varvatos Cologne

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0029 amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0024

Clean Cashmere

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0008

Calvin Klein Euphoria

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0009 amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0005

Calvin Klein Eternity for Men

amazon-luxury-beauty-december-2016-0006

Verdict: This box has a value of about $114. (That's not counting any value for the perfume samples.) I think that's a fantastic value for a $19.99 - and even more amazing considering you get $19.99 back in credit to spend on anything in this Beauty Category.

Loved receiving all these new samples! Received most of the same samples listed above. I LOVE LOVE the Ahava Mineral Hand Cream!! My skin feels like silk after I apply this! It is AMAZING! Will def be buying a full size! Would of preferred 5 actual beauty products over the 5 cologne/perfume samples. 2 maybe 3 cologne/perfume samples, ok, but 5….really! That was a disappointment to me. But really I shouldn’t complain since it was a great deal. Receiving this box full of so many samples did feel like a luxury compared to the 5 (still lovely) samples I receive in my other boxes. The only thing I would recommend is that the box include an informative card or booklet (like most beauty boxes already do) with directions/recommendations on all the products. Since these are samples, most do not have directions on the box/bottle. I will happily look up each & every product (full of anticipation) but feel the directions for each product should be a necessity in each box. I would recommend this box & will purchase the next box once available.

I was hesitant, but then ordered this box along with the $25 luxury deal before Christmas. I used the $25 bonus and the $20 from this box for Oribe shampoo and conditioner (love those – thanks, Birchbox!). When the Amazon luxury box was still available, I ordered another one. I really like the Skin & Co. Roma eye concentrate, and this product alone pays for each box. The other stuff is just bonus. 🙂

I purchased it after your review. What a great deal! I did get a few different things, such as an Ahava hand cream (which is a better product for me), a Phyto product that is not for my hair type (I have MANY people I can pass this on to, though!), the mint toothpaste, the grey nail polish (yay!), only one men’s cologne sample (the others were for women), and I did not get the Bliss product (there was no different or additional product). I’m especially happy because there are a few ingredients I am allergic to that are common in beauty products. Looking at the things in this box I believe that I will be able to at least try all of them. That’s truly amazing considering how many items are in here. When I get my Play!, Target, and Ipsy every month there is usually at least one thing that I cannot use because I don’t want to battle a rash for weeks. I’m sure it’s a fluke for this to be so usable, but I’ll definitely be keeping my eyes open for the next box!

Michelle

Ooops! I totally lied. LOL! Instead of the Bliss product I did get an Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour cream All-over Miracle Oil sample. It looks like a perfume sample so I forgot about it. I usually can’t do face oils, but this one looks okay. It’s a tiny sample in a perfume-sample size vial and worth less than a dollar, but it will be fun to try.

Morgan

I’m a little mad about all the men samples!!

Lola EB

I so badly want to order this but I have so many samples on stockpile. Even free I’m not sure I can justify it. I have put my empty boxes from glossybox and look fantastic to use. I have one box just for face cleanser and moisturizer and will soon have to separate those into individual boxes. One box for face masks, one for body lotions, shower gels. One for hair products, and one for color cosmetics like lips, eyes, mascaras etc. I am almost ready to separate that box to lips and eyes with cheeks in with lips for now. I also have one where I am grouping families. A group of Caudelie to inclue, day eye, night eye, mask, cleanser, moisturizer. It also includes Purlisse family but I need an eye cream to try then I’ll be complete. Also glamglow family, laneige family and a couple others. I like to try a group together to see how they work as a team. That box is on its way to being full as well.I have not included full sizes in any of those boxes. They have their own storage container. So there, yes, I am officially addicted. But I so want to try the Skin and Roma truffle eye cream and a few others but when can I use it all. I pay my hair stylist in skin care and make up samples, especially the skin care for dry skin as I have combo/normal/with a small bit of dry in the winter. I already have tons picked out for stocking stuffers. So how can I not get this box. The credit is excellent and I can combine with my other credits from the other sample boxes, this was before I heard the luxury box was coming out. I love the caudalie cru eye cream, the best I have found so far, it even beats creme da la mer eye as far as I’m concerned. Will my credits buy me a caudalie cru eye cream because then I will leap. But I think I need an intervention and I only have a few boxes left I am subscribed to. I have cancelled Glossy, Ipsy, and Lip Monthly. So I’m looking at Sephora and Look Fantastic which I won’t give up. Five more $10 allure boxesthanks to Black Friday. Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet and Medusas Makeup for color as they get my colors right. I don’t like the idea of reselling like many other people I see do on Ebay and what ridiculous prices they charge. Sometimes double or triple the actual cost. So what do I do? Help me, I’m drowning in product and want more. Substantial subscription addiction at its finest. It’s real, now we need a support group.

I like your idea of separating everything into boxes. That way I won’t have to go through all the boxes to see where the primer, cleanser etc. is. I have SO much too. I have made a bunch of individual boxes for friends and family members as little gifts.

Lola EB

I even made labels with my label maker I got for Christmas last year. I like boxes and labels.

Lola EB

Oh and can’t forget facial primers. They have a bag of their own as well.

Tamara

I didn’t get the Bliss moisturizer but I did get two of the Cindy Crawford Maningful Beauty Peels. Slightly disappointing since I never use peels but do use moisturizer. Probably ran out of the Bliss…that’s my luck. Lol. I already received my credit and used it to buy a Lorac Palette and some Zoya nail polish which both arrived today!

Kaitlyn

Please do not make this purchase unless you are doing so soley for the samples and not the beauty credit. I ordered over a week ago and customer service just said they don’t know when they can credit my account because of technical difficulties. I tried to post a review and they wouldn’t allow me to post it either. Buyer beware!

Reply ButtonReply

Tamara

My credit went through the day I received my box. I’ve already used it successfully.

Reply ButtonReply

Kaitlyn

I’m glad you received your credit. However myself and a couple others that reviewed the box on amazon have never received it.

Anna R.

I love this! I got all three boxes to use as stocking stuffers. Just finished sorting through them. Picked out a few things to keep for myself (mostly the anti-aging stuff my teenage daughter has no interest in) and sorted the rest for my daughter and husband. I did throw out one of the perfumes because I thought the smell was horrible, but other than that, I loved everything.

I think the julep polish alone makes this particular box worth the price. And the fact that I can go buy another for free with the credit!! Amazing!!

Thanks so much for keeping us up to date on deals like this!! I’ve been a prime subscriber for years and never knew about these!

Thank you for this review, you convinced me to take the leap and pick this up. If nothing else the box is lovely and I reuse them.

The Shave Balm is great for after shaving the bikini area – no red bumps!! Consider keeping it for traveling if you have to do a quick shave for the beach.

Reply ButtonReply

Kat

Just an FYI for those who don’t use sulfates the Marvi toothpaste has sodium laureth sulfate in it. Same bad stuff that’s in most shampoos. ICK!!!

Reply ButtonReply

Meepster

I was on the fence about this one. Went to order it that day, then hesitated, and ended up leaving it in my shopping cart. After seeing this review and all the things that the credit could be applied to, I went back to amazon, and was pleased to see it still there in the cart. I completed the order & should receive it in about a week. Thanks Liz, for the great reviews you always deliver. Sending cheer to you & your family this holiday season!

Liz Cadman

Thanks so much! Happy Holidays to you as well!!! 🙂

I love this box. I’m all about small sample life. It’s hard for me to commit to a full sized product.

And I love that you mentioned donating items you won’t use in your post!!!! ☺️

Alice

Sooo is anyone actually able to use the “beautygift25” code? It’s plastered all over the luxury beauty pages but it’s a no-go for me.

I also couldn’t get the credit back from this box without multiple phone calls to Amazon. I like the box but am not sure it’s worth the hassle.

Reply ButtonReply

Tonya W.

You have to wait until Amazon send a confirmation email stating that your credit has been applied to your account. When ordering, it stated that the credit would be applied around 7 days after shipping.

Reply ButtonReply

misslisamartin

I got both cedits applied to an order. At first I thought that the $25 would just come off the order, but I had to buy $50 worth of luxury goods and use the code… then they applied the credit to a future luxury order.

Reply ButtonReply

SSM

Ugh, I can’t get it to work, whether I check the “Apply 19.99 credit” or not. I get a notice saying “The promotional code can’t be applied to this order.” How frustrating.

Alice

Thanks everyone! You’re more helpful than Amazon’s own CS lol!

Samantha

I posted this reply to someone on the previous Amazon Luxury Box post, and hopefully, it will help you (once you add items from the selection to your cart and head to checkout, you should see the credit applied):

You should receive an email confirming it. If you can’t find the email, log in to your Amazon account, go to Your Account, then Message Center, and then click the “Other Messages” tab. You should have a message about the benefit confirmation, though it will say something vague in the message: “Additional information on this offer can be found here,” and the “here” is a hyperlink to the Luxury Beauty purchase options. You will not receive the benefit nor its confirmation until after your Luxury Beauty Box has been delivered. Once you are ready to use the credit and click the “here” hyperlink, you can use the filters on the left side to narrow down what you’re looking for, such as makeup (e.g. down to lips – lip liner, or eyes – eyeliner, nails, etc.) or skincare, etc.

Reply ButtonReply

Sara

Thank you! This helped.

Jackie

It worked for me when buying the box, but might not work with the 19.99 credit.

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

I can’t get it to work without the credit

Robin

Liz,
I’d love to know if you have any favorite beauty products. I’m overwhelmed with the 6k+ choices, but you’ve tried a bunch and I trust your opinion! Thanks!

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Thanks so much, Robin – it means so much to me that you trust my opinion! I’m going to have to do a better job at keeping track of favorites, but this week my favorite is definitely the skincare item in the Winter Box of Style (I’d mention it here but I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen the review yet.)

Reply ButtonReply

Tat

Compare this box with the Target Advent Calendar. If you bought this, the comparison will cheer you up to no end. Target really needs to be rethinking some concepts…

Reply ButtonReply

Kathy

Even after immediately tossing the perfume samples, and receiving the bright red Myriam polish that I’ll never use (I loved yours), I’m very happy with my box. A lot of new stuff to try and a credit to shop with. Such fun.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Yay! Glad you are happy with the box! It’s such a great deal 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Christina

I’m in ! I like the idea that I can use the credit for some other beauty product. 😀

Reply ButtonReply

Trisha

I’m happy with all the items, even the men’s cologne. The fact that some of the samples are just regular size doesn’t bother me.

I got O2 in the nail polish, a beautiful, bright Xmas red. I SO NEEDED this!!

I hope they continue doing these boxes. It’s a great perk for Prime members.

Reply ButtonReply

Khaleesi

Can’t complain for something that is technically free, I just didn’t want to pay $20 upfront to be swimming in samples (this time lol).

I know from the discussions that many were unhappy with this box. But I am loving this one and every other one I purchased! I’ve been a huge Amazon buyer for years. How did I never know these existed? Thank you MSA!!!

Yay! So glad you love this box, too!

Reply ButtonReply

Great! Now I wish I had ordered one lol.

Can anyone tell me what items the credit can be used for? When I considered ordering the box I really couldn’t tell and was afraid it was only for the enclosed items, so I ended up ordering the $11.99 box instead.

Reply ButtonReply

kelly

I loved the box!
Just ordered my ‘credit’ items from Amazon – a new pair of tweezers and Aquaphor healing ointment!
Great deal!

Reply ButtonReply

kelly

I should note that I bought the luxury box and the beauty sample box so I had two credits (about $32).

Sam

There are like 5000+ items! I’m eyeing the LeBalm primer which will be $5 after the credit!

Reply ButtonReply

Ariel

Do you know where we can see the full selection of items that we can apply the credit on? There are only a few products in the featured products selection. Thanks!

Patty K.

I received my box yesterday and already received my free selections from my credit today. I picked the toothpaste and the shaving cream. I am thrilled and a little amazed that this box is worth over a hundred dollars! Thanks for your review. You really gave me so much information about the products and I know I will use all of them.

svetlana angelos

I got nail polish in gray, like an asphalt gray color. Besides happy with the box and already got and used the credit

Reply ButtonReply

SSM

I got a light gray creme, called Linda. I put it on one fingernail and hated it (thought it should be called “Dead Lady Gray”), but I’ve since seen pictures of folks wearing a full manicure of it and rather like it. I’ll give it another try.

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

I got that color, too, and it’s one of the few Julep colors that I don’t have.
Grey may seem weird as a nail color, but it’s magical as a base for glitter topcoats and the like. It’s my favorite under my opalescent ones! The blue-ish tone of Linda is what makes it work so well, I think. 🙂

Kenia

Am I the only one who got 2? I recieved 2 of these. Another one came in yesterday and I had no idea what it was.

They sent me 3 LOL I contacted Amazon customer service and sent them back 🙂
