I really am enjoying this subscription. The brands and products they include are new to me, they have great curation and balance between salty and sweet, and they include many new-to-me healthy snack options. I like that they sometimes include coupons and they always have an information card.
Salted Caramel Puffed Corn - Cosmos Creations - Value $1.49
I've waxed poetic about this puffed corn in the past - but to really appreciate it, you have to try it. It's so much better than caramel corn - the puff gives it an excellent texture and the flavor is just amazing.
Cheddar & Pepper Puffed Corn - Cosmos Creations - Value $1.49
This puffed corn was also really good. I loved the savory version of this, it's very similar to Pirate's Booty, but I loved the addition of pepper here.
Gluten Free Pomegranate Fig Bars - Nature's Bakery - Total Value $1.19
I got so excited when I saw these fig bars in my box this month. I've tried the regular (not gluten-free) version and I loved them. Unfortunately, while the taste of these is pretty great, the texture of the bar is really dry and crumbly. The flavor is good, I am just not a fan of the texture.
Fruity Hard Candies by Torie & Howard - Value $1.00?
I really love Torie & Howard candies. All of their flavors are great and they're made with better-for-you ingredients. I always enjoy getting more in my boxes!
PopCorners Carnival Kettle - Value $0.42
This chips are made from popped corn and are gluten-free. They are not fried, and have no artificial additives. They have decent nutritional facts: only 120 calories per 1 oz bag. I've received these several times in boxes lately!
Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups by Justin's - Value $2.49
This was my first time trying these peanut butter cups and I think they are going to be a new addiction. They are so much better than Reese's. First of all, I love the dark chocolate instead of milk and secondly, the peanut butter is so smooth and gooey, it's almost like caramel. They're nothing short of amazing.
Mango Bites with Chia by Chosen Foods - Value $1.33
These little bites are crunchy bites of goodness. They taste great and they're pretty good for you too. I have sampled these in the past, thanks to sub boxes and I always appreciate them!
Spinach and Matcha Kettle Chips by Vegan Rob's - Value $1.49
Ok, I wanted to like these but I really don't. At first, they just tasted like regular potato chips but they have a weird aftertaste.
Sea Salt Bean Stalks by Saffron Road - Value $0.80
These 'chips' are made with three types of beans: red pintos, green peas, and white cannellini. They were very crisp and I enjoyed the flavor. I would love to try their flavored varieties!
Gluten Free Tasty Shortbread by Walker's - Value $1.15
I wasn't expecting much from these since they're gluten free and I am a well-documented lover of gluten. These were surprisingly good, though. The shortbread has that same buttery taste, with a tiny difference in texture. I think they're great!
Chocolate Snakaroons by Laughing Giraffe Organics - Value $1.00
This was dry. Really, really dry. I think I've tried these in past boxes and liked them, so I'm hoping I just got a bad one. If they're all like the one I got, I would never purchase these.
Verdict: SnackSack is consistently shipping boxes with a low value lately. I think this is really disappointing for subscribers, not only because there are some repeats (brands and products) but because the value is so much lower than the price paid. This box clocks in right at $13.85 - that's over $10.00 less than the cost of the box. Sure, they throw in a burlap sack, but I can buy an entire bolt of burlap for $10.00 with a coupon - I don't really count that as a huge added value.
In regard to products, I still like the mixture of products and flavors - I just really wish they would either lower the price or ship more snacks.
