My Paper + Pen subscription arrived in a bubble mailing envelope. All of the items were nicely wrapped in tissue paper when I opened it.

Paper + Pen includes a business card sized note card that has a QR Code on it. The QR code takes you to the Past Boxes section of their website, so you can see everything that is in your box for the month.

Love you a Latte Felt Planner Clip - Value $2.00

This little clip is super cute - it's constructed of felt and it feels pretty sturdy. This would be a great stocking stuffer item for someone that loves planners, reading, or is in school - all that assigned reading takes the life out of you...a cute bookmark would be welcome!

4 Kraft Paper and Gold Thank You cards - Value $2.00?

Thank you cards are a must during the holiday season - if it's to take with a hostess gift for Thanksgiving or a quick note to say thank you for a gift - everyone can use more. I really like the design of these as well.

Gratitude Notepad by Cynla - Value $6.00

This notepad is super cute and perfect for the month of giving thanks. I took it to my Thanksgiving dinner so that all the guests could write something that they're thankful for this year!

Cynthia Rowley Pen - Value $3.99

This pen has a nice weight to it and it writes really well. I love the gold!

Verdict: This Paper + Pen shipment has a value of about $13.99. I always have mixed feelings about this subscription. I love the items they send but the value just isn't there. I think this would be an awesome box if it were priced around $15.99. As is, this would be a nice box to get as a gift for a stationery obsessed friend, as long as you keep your expectations in check as far as value goes.

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane...the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane...but she's always looking for a new subscription to try!

I agree with you 100%. The value is most certainly not there. I was so excited to try this subscription because I love paper and I love pens! I chose the 3 month option. I really wish I had just done the one month but now that I received the second package I am sure this subscription box is not for me. The November box I felt was totally lacking. The items were ok for the most part. The pen was ok but was broken. I was glad to see something unique/handmade- notepaper from Etsy- cute but pricey. The craft paper note cards were cute and simple. The packaging was very poor in my opinion- being that the pen was broken and the cards were creased. This month’s package, which I received today was just as poorly packaged. Washi tape with bikes on it (which reminded me of something that you got out of the “bargain barrel”), a cheap (and unattractive) ornament (from Oriental Trader) and a kids pencil and tiny notepad (both from Oriental Trader as well) – I did look on the Oriental Trader website and the notepads usually come in 12-24 pieces for $5.98 and pencils 1 dozen for $4.98. The only half decent item in my opinion was the screen printed gift stickers which I found was from Etsy ($6). I am no pricing expert but I am putting the actual value of this month’s package at a VERY generous $10 and I really don’t believe it was even worth that. I will take my $20 and get a subscription to A Beautiful Mess which I just tried and LOVE-totally worth every penny.
