We're starting a new monthly post highlighting our favorite discoveries from subscription boxes! Here are our favorite items from the past month:
Lindsey's Favorite:
The Item: Post Coffee Kenya Ndia-Ini
The Cost: $17 for 12 oz.
From: BOXO (Coupon: Save 20% off your first box with MYADDICTION!)
Why I love it: Let me fill you guys in on a little secret. Even though I know that taking coffee black is the best way to appreciate its nuanced flavors, sometimes I wake up tired (or on the wrong side of the bed) and insist on drinking a huge vat of milky coffee. (Isn’t there just something super comforting about a giant mug of coffee with milk?) Because of this, my ideal coffees are bright and nuanced enough to drink black but also bold enough to shine through an added glug of dairy. Post Coffee’s Kenya Ndia-Ini definitely fits that criteria. Each sip starts out a little bright and then really opens up into something round and full. The flavor is dynamic, yet accessible, and it reminds me a little of fruity caramel. After receiving this coffee in September’s BOXO box, it quickly became my go-to morning coffee. I ordered more the second I ran out!
Anna's Favorite:
The Item: Plush Chicken
The Cost: $13.99
From: Mine Chest
Why I love it: I know, I know, I get so many amazing things from subscription boxes, how could this possibly be my favorite for the month? Because for whatever strange reason, this little chicken brought my eight-year-old son unparalleled joy. We went on a weekend trip and he played with this little guy the whole time. What could be better than that?
Ragan's Favorite:
The Item: Mad Cat Tabby Taco
The Cost: $4.99
From: Purr Packs (Coupon: Save 20% off your first box with code MSA20)
Why I Love It: My cats go nuts over these toys (anything from Mad Cat). But also, I rarely get pictures of Madison playing with toys because he is skittish. This got him excited and I got some great photos of him pulling on the “cheese” strings and also with his claws out.
Haley's Favorite:
The Item: Dave’s Sweet Tooth Toffee, Peanut Butter Crunch, 4 oz
The Cost: $5.99
From: Mitten Crate (Coupon: Get your first box for $24 with code msa24)
Why I love it: It’s made with peanut butter, almonds, milk chocolate, and of course buttery toffee. I can’t tell you enough how amazing the texture and taste was of this toffee! Normally, toffee gets stuck in my teeth terribly, and this stuff still did a little, but the fact that it had all the other ingredients and toppings helped it be much more easily eaten. I’m definitely buying more of this toffee and all the other flavors sound amazing, too!
Bekki's Favorite:
The Item: ELLE3 Clairefontaine Wire Bound Notebook
The Cost: $10.00?
From: Moustache Stationery
Why I love it: I actually loved everything from the September box and it was hard to pick just one item. I think this is one of my favorite boxes I've ever received - it was so well curated and I loved the design of the items. This wire bound notebook has lined pages and is about 8.15 inches tall, with thick covers. The wire binding seems to be high enough quality that even with regular use it will hold up well. The inside has several page separators with small pouches for papers or receipts. I just love that this notebook screams style and is so high quality!
Nancy S' Favorite:
The Item: Kracie DIY Ramen Kit
The Cost: $3.40 (on sale for $2.40)
From: The CuteBox (Coupon: Use code ADDICTION to save 20% off any subscription!)
Why I love it: I watched a YouTube tutorial on this kit a few years back, which marked the beginning of my love for DIY candy kits. This is a little harder to make compared to other kits, but I think it is so rewarding and a lot of fun when doing it with friends. Plus, the taste isn't too bad either. If you like miniature food-shaped candy, this is THE kit for you.
Chris' Favorite:
The Item: Melissa & Doug Chef Role Play Costume Set
The Cost: $50 total for 3 monthly shipments (includes free shipping)
From: My Pretend Place (Coupon: Save 30% off your first theme with coupon code pretend)
Why I love it: I love this because all 3 of my kids love it! They have fun taking turns being the chef and making food for each other. Plus, it made a great Halloween costume this year.
Jessica's Favorite:
The Item: Sparkle Tulle Dress
The Cost: $34.00
From: Rockets of Awesome
Why I love it: This dress was just the right mix of fancy-pants sparkle and cozy sweatshirt. It fit my tall-for-her-age daughter with room to grow and she loves wearing it!
Shawn's Favorite:
The Item: Binary Code Necklace Activity
The Cost: $29.95 for the monthly box
From: Girls Can! Crate (Coupon: use code SUBADDICT20 to save 20% off your first crate!)
Why I love it: I'm sure this is very geeky of me but I just loved experiencing the binary code necklace activity with my daughter. It is incredibly satisfying to think that an activity (or a box) along with parent interaction and discussion could help my daughter envision new possibilities for her future.
Nich's Favorite:
The Item: Lavender Rose Silk Luxurious Body Cream -2 oz.
The Cost: $8.00
From: Satva Box (Coupon: Use code SATVA10 to save 10% off your first box!)
Why I Love It: It’s lightly scented and goes on like whipped butter. It left my skin soft and smooth. I love this cream; it's a must for those seeking organic products!
Lacey's Favorites:
The Item: MeUndies Women’s Bikini in Summer Sunset (September’s design of the month)
The Cost: $14 when you subscribe, regularly $18
From: MeUndies Women
Why I love it: This pattern is so cheerful! These have been my go-to pair every time I do laundry. I need a bright pattern in my life now that the weather is getting cooler and the days are ending earlier.
The Item: AnitaKo Bar Soap in Orange
The Cost: $8
From: Yarn Crush Sock (Coupon: Use code HELLO to save $5 off your any subscription!)
Why I love it: I put this on my sink as soon as I opened the box, and I've been using it since for daily hand washing. I love the scent and now contemplating buying more since I clearly need more fancy olive oil soaps in my life!
Anna's Favorite:
The Item: Envelope Pocket Pad by Eccolo
The Cost: Listed Value $10
From: MissionCute (Coupon: Save $10 off your first box with code MISSIONTEN)
Why I love it: I brought it along on my trip to New Orleans recently, and it fared really well - the cover kept all of my notes about places to eat and Airbnb info all crisp and tidy. Plus, it's just SO cute.
Eric's Favorite:
The Item: Iron Man Hero Remix Gold/Chrome Electrolyte Plated Variant
The Cost: Value $37 on Amazon
From: Lootaku (Coupon: Save 5% off your first month with coupon code MSA5)
Why I love it: I just thought that this is one of the best looking Iron Man statues/bobbleheads that I've ever seen. The gold/chrome really pops and I love having it on my desk.
