Dia & Co. Subscription Box Review – November 2016

Dia & Co. is a monthly clothing styling subscription service for plus sizes. When I signed up for the service, I filled out a fairly in-depth questionnaire about my likes and dislikes, my size, my price range, and other questions that might help my stylist. Every month my stylist sends five pieces for me to try out. The service fee is $20 per month, but that fee is applied to any item I decide to keep. Additionally, there is a 20% discount if I decide to keep all five pieces!

FYI - My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your package from Dia & Co. may be completely different!

This is the note I received from my stylist this month, Stephanie, explaining why she chose each item. I this she does a great job personalizing my shopping experience! And I am so happy she looked at my Pinterest board to get a better sense of my style.

dia-and-co-november-2016-invoice

This is the invoice for the items they sent this month. It shows each item and the cost to keep, plus the cost of the items totaled. Then at the bottom, it shows the total with the styling fee credited and the 20% discount for keeping all five items. The discount this month would be $72.06 if I kept all five items. That's a deep discount!

Lynn Sweater Vest by B. Curvy - Cost to Keep $95

I love this vest! It's so soft and comfortable, and it's completely different from anything else I own. I think it looks pretty good, too!

Mariela Ankle Pant by Eloquii - Cost to Keep $69.90

I don't think the cut of these pants is particularly flattering on me, and black pants should always be flattering, so I'm leaning toward sending these back. One thing I will say about Eloquii pants is that they are super high quality. I have one pair in my closet that I have had for years, and they still look almost new, with all buttons and zippers and everything still intact and working.

Dulcie Peasant Top by Jessica Simpson - Cost to Keep $79.50

This blouse is completely within my fashion aesthetic, but the cut is all wrong for me. It's also a little too sheer for my tastes.

Linden Pant by Michael Studio - Cost to Keep $69

These pants are really more like pull-on leggings, but they don't give as much as I would like, so they're a little uncomfortable. I might try exchanging them for a bigger size. I like the textured look of the black and charcoal micro-print on these. I guess I'm torn about keeping them.

Portia Sweater Dress by Fashion to Figure - Cost to Keep $46.90

OK, hear me out. I know horizontal stripes on curvy women is a no-no, and I understand this is not the most flattering dress in the world on me. But I absolutely LOVE the print and the colors, and basically the whole look of it. I also love the neckline! I don't have anything else like it, and just look at how inexpensive it is! Can't I please keep it?

Verdict: Dia & Co. is one of my favorite subscription boxes! I think of all the styling boxes I receive, Dia sends the most interesting, unusual pieces (which I love), and their pieces tend to be the most reasonably priced. The vest this month was a sure fire win for me, and I love the dress, too! Please vote and tell me I absolutely must keep it!

What do you think of Dia & Co.? What pieces did you get this month?

I think the dress is extremely flattering to you. As a curvy gal, I’m getting ready to Google one for me now!

I only voted on two items because I felt I would probably disagree. The first item, the sweater, is lovely but for $96 it’s not that lovely. You could find a replacement for a lot less. The dress makes you look slim. I love the print and colors.

Thanks Virginia! Please vote as often as you like. It won’t hurt my feelings a bit if you disagree. I value your opinion!

Um, that dress is KILLER on you, seriously. Color, cut, style, everything is just perfect. Looks cute as is, or with ankle boots, leggings, denim jacket, leather jacket… And the fact that you love it means you will radiate happiness when wearing it. The sweater vest is also great and so versatile with skinny jeans or leggings.

I think the dress looks good. I would go with shoes to pickup one of the darker stripes, probably the blue, and I would match my polish to the stripes as well.

There are no no-no’s for curvy girls, it just a matter of finding the right stripes, and Dia has done that for you. this dress fits you great, and highlights all the right curves. Before scrolling down to read your description, as soon as I saw the pic, I said (out loud), this dress looks great on her! I agree with you about the pants – I have seen you in more flattering pants than these two. Hate the peasant top, and I’m meh on the vest, just because I don’t love vests. It works on you though.

You look fantastic in that dress!! You must keep it!!!

And yep, I think the descriptions on the pants are switched. Keep the black-and-charcoal striped leggings from the top photo (or resize if they are uncomfy)–those are flattering and chic!

Anna

Thanks Sarah!

tpop

Anna, I think you have your pants descriptions switched.

Love the sweater vest. The shirt shows your bra in the opening and why is the bottom crooked, or high on one side? The dress…well, you like it, so it’s your choice. I don’t think the stripes are a problem at all. I like the patterned pants (in the first photo) so I would get a bigger size in those. They’re not too long, after all!!!

Anna

Thanks tpop! And yikes! I didn’t notice. The shirt is just crooked bc my hand is on my hip.

The dress is gorgeous on you! Love the pattern and the color. Try with a leather jacket and some booties.

Your reviews are such fun, Anna. I go through and vote without reading anything so I’m not influenced by what you write. Of course I go back and read everything! My favorite is the sweater vest on you. Love it! It’s such a great neutral that you could pair it with any color under it.

Anna, I ALWAYS look forward to your reviews! You crack me up!!! I love voting and seeing the clothes on instead of layed out. I don’t buy vinyl records but read all your reviews on them because they’re so intelligently written. I love music and have actually considered buying a player so I could start a vinyl collection.
Keep up the great work and beautiful smile on your face. Blessings to you!
