"Our mission is to awaken hearts and minds to the needs of our neighbors across the globe and to support artisans in third world countries who are trying to sustain a business for themselves to simply survive." That's a noble mission. Bravo!

This card was included this month, telling the story of one of the artisans who contributed to the box this month.

This is our recipe of the month, Kaq Ik, a turkey dish from Guatemala. What great timing!

Wipil Doll

This tiny little doll is adorable, and it's the item described on the info card above. They are made from blouses. My Mom used to bring me Guatemalan worry dolls from her travels when I was little. So cute!

Wipil Case

I think this is a case for glasses because it's padded on one side. It's very colorful!

Wipil Headband

I love this headband! It's also very colorful. Everything this month seems to be the same Guatemalan woven fabric.

Verdict: I am really enjoying my subscription to Awaken Box! Every month they send such beautiful items, and I love feeling like I'm helping to support such important charities and causes around the world. My only wish with Awaken is that they would provide more information about who makes the items and how they are tied to that month's charity organization, if at all. Sometimes they do, but not usually. Otherwise, I think it's a wonderful subscription at a very reasonable price.

I liked the headband and the glasses case seems high quality. Glad it goes toward charity.
