wantable-style-edit-october-2016-preferences

When I signed up for this service, I took a pretty lengthy quiz in which I indicated my price, size, and style preferences. Wantable uses a great model of indicating what you love, what you like and what you dislike, for all their subscriptions! They send you more of what you love, and never what you dislike. These are the preferences I selected. I can go back and change them at any time.

wantable-style-edit-october-2016-note

Below my preferences is a note from my stylist, Christina. It explains why she chose the items she picked for me.

wantable-style-edit-october-2016-invoice

This is the invoice of the items they sent me this month. On the right, it shows my cost to keep each item. The total comes to $442.50. If I keep everything, I get 20% off, plus I get my $20 styling fee deducted. That brings the total down to $334 for a discount of $108.50. That's a deep discount!

Leslie Cowl Neck Tunic by Umgee - Cost to Keep $49

I love this tunic! I need more basic black pieces, and this will go so well with leggings and boots now that leggings and boots season is finally upon us! I think the cut is fairly flattering, too.

Keira Kimono Sleeve Top by Kiyonna - Cost to Keep $62

This is a super cute top, but wow. I don't think all that ruching is doing anything for my figure at all. Sadly, I think this has to go back.

Georgia Bootcut Jeans by Lucky - Cost to Keep $89.50

I have actually never tried jeans from Lucky before! I'm so glad to get the chance to try them out! I am kind of undecided on them at the moment, though. They probably could stand to be hemmed an inch or so, but that's normal for all my pants. I like the wash a lot, but I don't know if the cut is particularly flattering or not.

Forever Denim Jacket Corlear by Kensie - Cost to Keep $78

I am becoming a huge fan of Kensie denim thanks to Wantable Style! I think this is the third month in a row they have sent me something from Kensie. I love this jacket! I wish I didn't already have a couple of denim jackets that are new. I might have to send it back, which is breaking my heart.

Robby Dress by Tart Collections - Cost to Keep $164

I love this dress! I think it's perfect for the season, and I love the little tie at the neckline. It's kind of expensive, though, so I'm not totally sure if I should keep it or not.

Verdict: I am really loving my Wantable Style Edit so far! I really loved everything they sent this month, even though I don't think the Kiyonna top is very flattering on me. It's still so much fun to try everything on! I absolutely love the tunic and the dress. I honestly feel like Wantable has done a fabulous job so far of choosing items that I really like and will get a lot of use out of. This is such a fun subscription!

What do you think of Wantable Style Edit? What did you receive in your box this month?

I’m not trying to sound rude, but I’d really like to see what kind of close they have for the non-plus size subscriptions. Can’t one of the non-plus size reviewers review the box too?

Michelle

Every single piece is a win on you!!!

Britt?

I agree 100%! Everything looks great! I think your stylist did a great job & really nailed it, I think she truly took you, your likes/dislikes in to consideration. This is one of the best clothing subscription matches I’ve seen, thus far, from anyone. She’s a keeper…????

Loba

Wow! That dress looks great on you! If money were no object I’d keep a dress like that if it looked that good on me. But it sure is spendy….

Love! Love! Love that black tunic.

I don’t think you should keep the denim jacket because you already have some. But there is something about the wash that I am loving…

The jeans… I don’t know. Even if they were hemmed I don’t know if I would keep them. I’m not liking the transition from the knee below. Maybe I am just not a fan of that cut?

The top. I think the style is something you don’t like (seems like the Kiyonna pieces are a little too revealing in the bust area and you don’t seem to like that). Outside of that I gave to say (on behalf of ruching) ruching can be fantastic but it works best when the clothes fit (or are tailored to fit) really well. Otherwise it looks a hot mess.

Thanks Loba!

AMH

ruching doesn’t work for me and I’m a size 8.

Ragan

Ruching has worked for me all year (I started the year in a M in tops and barely squeezing into a 10 on bottom and now I am a 2 or XS on top and a comfortable 4 on bottom). I found I could arrange it to cover certain areas I wanted hidden when I was 40 pounds heavier.

Lol! Ok? Thank you!

Kp

That dress is so perfect on you but the price lol

Ikr? Thanks kp!

Diane

You look fabulous in that dress. It is a bit pricey so just wear it everywhere.

Anna

Good thinking Diane!

Michelle

You look like a pinup in that dress! I say keep it. Pass on the jacket-you already have denim jackets. The blue top-I would pass. I think the blue looks amazing on you but I can tell by how you speak of the ruching it is not something you are going to reach for. I like the jeans on you too. Get them hemmed to fit your height with favorite pair of boots or shoes and I bet you will wear them often.
You are so pretty and cute!

Anna

OMG thank you Michelle! You just made my day!

Liz Cadman

You MUST keep that dress, Anna! ?

Anna

Lol thank you Liz! Ok, will do!

The dress is hands down the best thing I’ve seen on you in the past few months you’ve been doing these clothing box reviews! Just my 2 cents, but I happen to be right ;). From the pic it even looks like you could play it off as casual or slinky and sexy. I even love the tie thing at the neck. Bummer that it’s by far the most expensive, but it might be worth it!

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Thanks L! I think I love it!

Bonnie

The jeans look great on you! I don’t think the jacket fits you well, and you already have a denim jacket, so I voted return on that one. It is a cute jacket though, but you can find better. I love the black tunic, and hate the blue top. You definitely shouldn’t keep something you don’t feel looks great on you. I too was on the fence about the dress. It’s a cool print, but I’m not sure I love that length – but YOU said you love the dress.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Thanks for all your thoughtful feedback, Bonnie! I think I need this dress tho. 🙂

Rachelle

Anna, I hate to get personal but it would be great if we knew your approximate height. I am under five feet so length of clothes is really important. Thank you.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Hi Rachelle! I’m about 5’3″ so there’s about a 75% chance I will have to get pants hemmed. I’m long waisted so tops usually are the right length, and sometimes sleeves are too long but I usually just push them up. Hope this helps!

Rachelle

Thank you so much Anna. That is very helpful.

Alyssa

The subscription is definitely something that would benefit me because of the type of job I have I need business casual type clothes and I feel like some of the pieces would work for that. That being said I think that it’s a little bit expensive and I definitely wouldn’t spend that much for those outfits. I do have to say though, you look stunning in that dress and I think that is for sure a keeper!

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Thanks Alyssa! It’s super convenient, but yeah, the price is not always what I’d like, either. But I think they usually send a good mix of lower and higher priced pieces. This month was a little spendier than usual.

tpop

You keep making me want to try this sub even though I have such a hard time with clothes!

Dress – very cute, but I like it better with a jacket, it’s a lot of snakeskin at once. And way too expensive for me, but if you love it?

Jacket – I actually like the others you got better, because of the darker wash. Don’t care as much for the whiter patches on this one. And one denim jacket lasts forever.

Jeans – Are the knees scrunchy because the length is too long? If that’s all, then keep and hem (maybe 3″). I like how these don’t have wear at the knee because on other jeans you’ve tried the wear is below your knee because of your height.

Blue top – eh, not flattering and maybe too dull a color. You look beautiful in bright and jewel tones.

Black top – so keep! Looks super cozy and versatile.

Yeah, reading this sounds like I’m stalking you or something! But I relate to your reviews, body-wise, more than the others.

Anna

Awww thank you so much tpop! I hope to be helpful to other ladies with non-supermodel (but still fabulous) bodies, so your comments make me really happy. This sub is super fun, and worst case you’re out $20. Thanks for all your feedback! I think the jeans fit weird below the knee bc I have tree trunk legs. Haha!

I love the Lucky Jeans on you! You should definitely keep them, and of course get them hemmed.

The dress is cute, but at that price I’m not so sure….. I’ve seen you review cuter dresses at lower price points.

If you have other new denim jackets then I don’t think it would be worth it to keep this jacket….. but it is super cute! I love Kensie too! I have two pairs of skinny jeans by Kensie.

The top is definitely odd (not you, it’s the top). Definitely a no go on the top.

The Umgee tunic is to die for! Definitely keep it! I want one!

I might have to check this sub out. I hope they have lower pricepoints since I’m losing weight and will be changing sizes over the next year.

And sorry if I sound like “do this-do that” lol, I just really love clothes and looking at reviews so I get all excited. I should change the way I express enthusiasm lol.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Thanks Sara! No you don’t sound bossy, I love all your feedback! It is really helpful! There’s a place on this sub in your quiz to make notes to your stylist. You could always request lower priced items. Hope that helps!

Ragan

I like the last dress a lot. It looks good on you.

I am checking all the styling subscription reviews for an alternative to Stitch Fix. I am giving them one more month to shape up (so far I have only kept one piece out of two months — October was about 100% the opposite of my preferences). This one has a similar cost so it might be worth a try for me.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Thank you Ragan! You should totally check them out. Worst case you’re out $20, same as stitch fix I bet. Also check out the Wantable stream, you can request pieces other people have received and hedge your bets a bit.
