This month's theme is Legendary Harvest. The Pumpkin Batch always includes a one-page sheet explaining the items and the theme for the month. This month the theme was inspired by the "legendary characters and traditions surrounding trick-or-treat and Halloween in America."
Kraken & Claw Harvest Brew Pumpkin Spice Caramel Corn - Value $5.00
This Harvest Brew Caramel Corn is very similar to Cosmos Creations Puffed Caramel Corn! I am so glad to have found another brand that sells this stuff - I love it that much. This flavor is quite good and perfectly fit for autumn and the Pumpkin Spice craze.
I love the Kraken & Claw website and their description of the product - perfect for a Halloween box!
Salem Baking - Pumpkin Cheddar Cheese Straws - Value $5.99
These pumpkin cheddar cheese straws are delicious. They are perfectly crunchy, salty, and cheesy, with just the right hint of pumpkin. The cinnamon and nutmeg are there but muted enough that these are the perfect mix of flavors. Serena, the curator of The Pumpkin Batch, said she chose these because they are produced by Salem Baking - which conjures up thoughts of the Salem witches!
1803 Candles - Pumpkin Hollow Soy Jar Candle - Value $10.99
This candle smells like everything you would expect from pumpkin spice. Its delicious scent is currently filling my office and it goes perfectly with a cloudy, rainy day. 1803 Candles describes the scent as "fragrances of gooey caramel and sugary drips of maple blended with pumpkin, cinnamon, and nuts," which is very accurate. I smell the maple, pumpkin, and cinnamon, along with the warmth of the nuts.
Raley's Confectionary Pumpkin Spice Hard Candy - Value $5.00
Raley's hard candy is a popular item in food subscription boxes. I receive a bag at least every other month. This candy is vegan and gluten-free, which is awesome. The flavor is everything you would expect from pumpkin spice candy but it's a bit light. When I opened the bag, it definitely smelled like coconut oil too, which was weird! Anyway, it's good and if you like pumpkin spice, you'll definitely enjoy it!
Verdict: This The Pumpkin Batch is valued at $26.98, right at the cost of the box but not much more. The value on this box has definitely dipped in the past few months and they've moved from 4-6 items to mostly 4 items. I still enjoy all of the products that are included, it just seems like adding a 5th item to the box would bring up the value and the excitement a bit. With that said, I realize that running a subscription box company is difficult, especially when it's so specialized in theme.
