Birchbox Man is a monthly grooming and lifestyle subscription box for men. Each month, you'll receive 3-4 sample size items to try along with another lifestyle item that you can select. The selection process opens about a month before shipping and, typically, allows you to pick 1 of 3 selection items.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Pura Vida Bracelet - Teal Braided - Value $15

Each month, you'll be able to pick 1 of 3 selection items for your box. This month, I chose the set of 2 Pura Vida Bracelets. I was curious to see how different they were from the women's Pura Vida Bracelets subscription box. Overall, they're pretty much the same - both are made to be worn together.

Pura Vida Bracelet - Solid Black - Value $5

Here is the second bracelet. Just a simple 5 strand, black, bracelet, These are made to be worn together.

1899 Cologne - .07 OZ - Value $3.67 (based on $105, 2 OZ bottle)

I'm not a cologne person. I gave this one a shot - but it's too fragranced for me. If I do but on cologne, I typically look for something that has a fresh scent, like 'just out of the shower' type of scent. This wasn't doing it for me.

Clean: Shower Fresh Fragrance - .03 OZ - Value $.55 (based on $74, 4 OZ bottle)

This is exactly the type of fragrance I was talking about! It has a mild, fresh, scent that I love - I'd definitely use more of this.

Kiehl's Facial Fuel - .5 OZ - Value $5 (based on $25, 2.5 OZ bottle)

I'm currently still loving my Kiehl's face wash from September, so this was a welcome sample. It reminds me of the classic Nivea scent, which I don't really love or hate - so this will work for me.

Fatboy Hair: Perfect Putty - ? OZ - Value $2-3? (based on $21, 2.2 OZ container)

This didn't have a size listed, so the value is really a total guess, but it's a very small container. Along with not being a fan of cologne, I'm also not a fan of putting anything in my hair - so this is definitely something I won't be using. Dry shampoo is the extent of hair product that I'll use!

Billy Jealousy Beard Oil - ? OZ - Value $2-3? (based on $24, 2 OZ bottle)

Again, there is no size listed, but this is a very small packet. I like the smell and it's not overwhelming! The sample gives you one good test in your beard. Unlike other beard oils, it didn't make my beard really slick to the touch, or shine visually - both are good things!

Billy Jealousy Beard Wash - 1 OZ - Value $2.50 (based on $20, 8 oZ bottle)

The last item goes with the oil above - it's a beard wash! It actually doesn't have much of a scent - which is great! I've never used a dedicated beard wash before, so I'm excited to try it out.

Verdict: I don't try a lot of products, but I'll try something that is put in front of me - so I've enjoyed Birchbox Man. I love the inclusion of a lifestyle item as well - usually it something that's close to the value of the entire box, so it makes the samples bonus - which is perfect for me!

Really torn on purchasing a gift subscription for my man. Sub seems like a good idea because he’s always looking for a great hair product and hates buying full-size, but he also is VERY picky (hates facial products, doesn’t shave but doubt he’d ever use beard oil/wash, never cologne, etc). Does anyone know how well they curate the box based off of preferences?

Is it just me or does this seem over priced? My birchboxes have steadily decreased in value and I don’t think I’ll be hosting the men’s subscription anytime soon

Gifting the men’s subscription… My autocorrect also seems to get worse
