Now, onto the items!
UMA Intensely Nourishing Hair Oil - Value $70
This is the full-size "hero" for the box! It's made with essential oils of Grapefruit, Lemon, Cypriol, Hibiscus, Yerba de Tago in a base of Grapeseed, Indian Gooseberry, Moringa and Jojoba oils. The result is a lovely-scented lightweight hair oil.
I only needed 1-2 drops on dry hair to add shine, fight frizz and add softness. (Anymore, and I ran into getting a greasy look.)
You can also apply this to damp hair to protect it from heat treatment. And you can use this as a treatment oil on your scalp - apply 5-6 drops to your roots, scalp and hair pre-shampoo or overnight.
(And that packaging - gorgeous!)
UMA Ultimate Brightening Face Mask - .7 oz Value $30
(This is an exclusive launch in the Beauty Heroes box - this mask isn't available yet from UMA.)
The mask is made with sandalwood, orange peel, papaya, tomato, cinnamon, and essential oils. (With a base of bentonite clay, aloe vera, honey and rose water.) Or to quickly summarize - it smells amazing.
This mask didn't completely dry in the 7 minutes I had to wear it, but definitely took some rubbing to wash it off when the time was up. While I can't say I noticed any brightening effects, my skin felt much smoother and cleaner - that's good enough for me!
Verdict: This month's box has a value of $100. I think that's great since it is over double the cost and features a full-size item. I really like both products, too. (And that hair oil should last me months!)
I'm impressed that Beauty Heroes consistently exposes me to new natural and organic beauty brands, and it's great to try out a full-size item and you don't have to worry about product overload either!
