Danielle Creations Pink Glitter Compact – Value $13

beauty-fix-october_102016-006

I was happy to see that this came in very giftable packaging!

beauty-fix-october_102016-007

It's super sparkly, but this isn't the type of glitter that rubs off on your hands - a major win!

And or course, it is a practical compact mirror with two different magnifications:

Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Cleanser – FULL SIZE! Value $22

I'm always happy to get anything full-sized from Juice Beauty in a subscription box! This cleaner is a lathering gel, and it did a great job of cleansing my skin without drying it out. (It has a natural scent that I like, but it may not be a hit with everyone.)

beauty-fix-october_102016-011

Dermstore Lip Quench – FULL SIZE! Value $12

This lip gloss has just a hint of pale pink color, a little shimmer, and some shine, too. (Not enough color to show up swatched, though.)

It also has a fab tropical fruit flavor! It's a tad on the sticky side, but the formula still works for me.

Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Oil - 5 ml Value $12.50

beauty-fix-october_102016-018

You only need a few drops of this oil per application, so this little bottle should actually last you a week or two!

I applied 4 drops to my skin, and I loved how soft and moisturized it made my skin feel. Dermalogica also suggests blending it with your skin moisturizer or applying it with a blender over your makeup for a dewy look. (I am combating oily skin throughout the day, so I didn't apply this over makeup, but I love it as a first step in my skincare routine.)

Replenix Neckletage - .35 oz Value $15

(Good to know for swaps - has inner foil seal.)

The before and after pictures on this box are pretty impressive:

beauty-fix-october_102016-015

I found the formula to be rich and moisturizing, but still easy to absorb into the skin. I like that this doesn't have any added fragrance either - it didn't irritate my skin at all!

beauty-fix-october_102016-012

Lash Food Eyelash Enhancer - .05 oz Value $39

beauty-fix-october_102016-013

This is half the size of the full-size version! (It's also formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates.)

I've seen a mix of reviews from this product - 5 stars from people who it worked for, and 1 star from people that didn't see results. I just started it so I can't say I see any results yet, but I can report that it didn't irritate my eyes.

beauty-fix-october_102016-016

Luzern Laboratories Serum Absolut WE3 - 5 ml Value $23.30

beauty-fix-october_102016-017

This serum goes on like a gel and absorbs pretty quickly. It's free of parabens and gluten, and the formula is vegetarian, made with organic ingredients, and cruelty-free. BUT! It kind of smells like a dry-erase marker to me. The scent didn't fade immediately either, so this is a product I just can't use!

beauty-fix-october_102016-010

Nuema neuStyling Smoothing Creme - 1 oz Value $3.60

Fortunately, the scent of this product made up for the serum! This hair creme smells like a lemon cookie - I'm obsessed with it! This line from Neuma is also free of any ingredient you may want to avoid, like parabens, sulfates, phthalates, FD&C Colorant, etc.

And the hair creme itself works really well, too. You can use it both on dry or damp hair, and it didn't weigh my hair down at all - but did tame frizz!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $140! Amazing! I'm always so impressed with this subscription. They always deliver on quality skincare products, and there's usually a beauty tool or makeup product in the box to round it out. The Dermalogica and Neuma products were the standouts for me this month, but I really like everything (with the exception of the serum).

So I opened the LashFood today and tried it out. My wand feels completely dry. Am I missing something about how this product works or did I just receive a bum product?

I always love this box!! I have 5 other subs but this one is the best. The customer service is great too. One month I had a damaged product and they got a replacement to me immediately. If you’re interested in high quality skincare and hair products, this is the sub to get. Although if makeup is your thing, this sub will probably not fulfill your needs.

I am in love with the Lip Quench. I have seven or eight different lip balms from boxes that I havr stashed all over the house and had just started noticing my lips were chapped when I got my box. Tried the Lip Quench and the next morning my lips were all better! I always love this box. So worth the money every month!

It is pretty good!

Although, I have multiple stashes of 5-20 lip balms each (one in the kitchen, the living room, the master bathroom, my purse, and my nightstand) from subscription boxes. I am going to do a cull soon. Although the Lip Quench will survive the cull because I do like it.

Loved this box!! Using everything in it! I don’t have acne prone skin but still love the cleanser! It made my skin feel so clean and soft!!

I use the overly scented serums I get on the backs of my hands. It has really improved the texture and brightened the skin, plus they are very moisturized!

I use them on my forearms. Really helps me work my way through my stash, too.

I’ve tried that neck cream before – I can’t remember which sub box I got it from. It did not work for me. 🙁 However, I’ve been using the new neck/chest cream from Gold Bond (I got it from Target) and I’ve noticed a small improvement.

Thanks for the tip! I was having major box envy over that neck cream!

Those before and after pics, for the neck cream, ARE pretty impressive! If it works ( sample looks tiny) just a little, I will be purchasing the full size!

You just really need to use your regular moisturizer regularly on your neck aND chest. The neck skin is as delicate as the eye for aging so keeping it moisturized is important. Use upward strokes when applying. I have been using the same moisturizer as I use on my face for years, sometimes I’ll use a heavier moisturizer than what I can use on my face if I have a sample I can’t use on my face, and my neck looks great. All the women over 50 in my family have had chin tucks except me to tighten their neck skin, so a special cream isn’t necessary as long as you moisturize your neck daily. I also use sunscreen on my neck and chest.

I just use my excessive stash of eye cream on my neck. If one stings my eyes too much, it gets moved to use on the neck. No separate products needed and nothing wasted.

Luna

This is good to hear! I thought I was going to be doomed to have a saggy, wrinkly neck, and wrinkly décolleté (sp) when I get older, because I have very sensitive skin in those areas and my skin reacts not so well to neck creams. But, I do moisturize those areas often (and greatly limit sun exposure), and use any residual face creams on those areas with no problem. So far everything looks good, and it’s nice to read that it’ll hopefully stay that way if I keep up what I’m doing! 🙂

Kay

Liz, thank you so much for your TIMELY review for this sub each month! You give me enough time to decide whether I want to get this month’s box or not. Because of cleanser and lip product, this month is a no go for me. But last month, I changed my mind and got the box!

So happy to hear my reviews are helpful. Thank you, Kay! 🙂

I didn’t get the product card either so was looking forward to the spoiler to explain how to use some of these products. Love the value on this box but between this month and last month we have plenty of skin and eyelash serums.

Renee

My card stuck to the top of the box, so I missed it at first.

Nice review! I enjoyed this month’s box. I put a few things up on swaps (compact & Phyto Replenish Oil) but am generally happy with everything. I was most looking forward to the Juice Beauty cleanser. The smell is a little odd to me, like spoiled fruit. I enjoyed the Green Apply Sensitive Skin Peel scent but this one, eh. I need to try it a few more times but right now, I’m not loving the cleanser (it didn’t lather too well for me).

Elizabeth

LOL- we put the exact same items up for swap.

This is my second month with Beautyfix and I’m pleased. I love the skincare in the box and find the value amazing. Not sure how long I’ll keep it as I think I’m headed to Pearlesque. I love that they send one brand a month and a couple full size products. Their standards appear to be the highest in the cosmetic industry as well.

Liz Cadman

Glad you liked this box! (And I agree – Pearlesque is fantastic, too!) 🙂

GAH! Liz, your reviews always give me FOMO. The only reason I didn’t purchase this was the Juice Beauty Cleanser. I have dry, blemish-free skin and was worried this would make my dry skin even worse.

I’m already eagerly anticipating next month’s spoilers!

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Haha – sorry about the FOMO! 😉 I could be wrong, but I think that cleanser should work for most skin types. (And I’m with you – bring on next month’s spoilers!! )
