Ghostbusters Mug - Value $8.99
What a great Ghostbusters Stay Puft mug! I’ll be drinking from this dishwasher safe, ceramic mug all winter when I have hot chocolate (with lots of marshmallows of course!).
Horror Stickers- Value $0.10?
These are the stickers that the local video store used to put on all the horror VHS movies. A Retro Pop Box exclusive, I don’t have a use for these but the neon green color sure is reminiscent of the 80’s as is a video store in general.
Now and Laters - Value $0.15
I think this may be my first time trying a Now and Later. It reminded me of Laffy Taffy (which I’m not a fan of) and had a fruit punch flavor. They are very firm!
Peanuts Bouncy Ball - Value $0.50?
My kids both love the Peanuts and this Charlie Brown bouncy ball is just perfect. He’s wearing his Halloween mask and holding a candy apple. I’ve never seen a Peanuts bouncy ball; this is our favorite item in the box!
Camp Crystal Lake T-Shirt- Value $15.00?
This short sleeve shirt is a Retro Pop Box exclusive. Camp Crystal Lake is from Friday the 13th and you can see Jason standing off in the distance. I’ve never seen Friday the 13th because horror movies are not my jam, but I do love the colors on this shirt and the retro vibe.
Chucky the Doll Pin - Value $5.00?
This pin is pretty gory! Chucky the doll from the 1988 movie Child’s Play is holding a bloody knife that actually slides up and down to create a stabbing motion. This pin is another Retro Pop Box exclusive and came with the Fun Fact of the month. Chucky’s real name is Charles Lee Ray borrowed from three real-life killers (Charles Manson, Lee Harvey Oswald and James Earl Ray).
Verdict: This month’s box was appropriately horror themed for October, but since horror movies aren’t my thing it was a bit of a flop for me personally. I did love the mug and Peanuts ball though. The value this month was over $29, but I consistently find that the box doesn’t reach the value they claim the box will contain ($45).
