We have the theme for the upcoming October OwlCrate subscription box:

screen-shot-2016-09-16-at-4-06-28-pm

We are so excited to announce that theme of the October box is... ONCE UPON A DREAM! The box will include a dark and atmospheric novel inspired by Russian folklore. The story is all about the magic that occurs in the middle of the night! We'll also be filling each box with beautiful goodies inspired by fairy tales, as well as stories that feature dreams. This is a really beautiful box, and the book is perfect to read around Halloween! Stay tuned for more info and sneak peeks later this month.

And we now have more details:

We'll also be packing each box full of beautiful items inspired by Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan and Wizard of Oz. Psst...one special item is perfect to wear during chilly months...we can't wait for you to see it!

What do you think of the theme for the October Owl Crate box? Any guesses on the book?

If you haven't signed up for Owl Crate yet, it is $29.99 plus shipping ($6.99 to US, $10.59 to Canada, $19.99 Worldwide) Use coupon WELCOME15 to save 15% off of your first month!

Good to know: "This box is NOT available yet! We will announce when it becomes available for purchase next week. If you place an order now, you will be ordering the September DARKNESS box."

Check out our Owl Crate reviews to see what you can expect from this subscription. (It’s one of my favorite book boxes – I highly recommend it!) And check out our reviews of all Book Subscription Boxes, too!

The book is ‘Vassa in the Night’ – very popular as it’s in 2 other book boxes as well!

It was also hinted at on tumblr that it will be the Uppercase book as well. Someone posted saying that they wanted to subscribe, but would be upset if Uppercase had it as their October pick as well. Owlcrate recommended that they skip this month because they didn’t want them to be upset if they ended up getting duplicate books.

Uppercase doesn’t do themes afaik so I couldn’t predict if it was their choice as well. Would Owlcrate know if Uppercase had picked that as their book? I wouldn’t be surprised though! This is all getting a bit out of hand! But on the plus side for me, it means less temptation to get multiple book boxes, lol.

Ooo – what other boxes?

Fairyloot and My Bookish Crate – all 3 have a newly released Russian fairytale inspired book. The publisher must be cackling with glee!

Ughhhh I love the Wizard of Oz, but the spoiler is probably a scarf which I won’t wear. Plus at 85 degrees today, who can even think of fall or winter?

That’s exactly what I was thinking. My immediate thoughts went SCARF. I bet it will be the Wizard of Oz item. Black and white striped is my thought.
