In addition to their regular monthly subscriptions, Artistry Gifts also does Limited Edition boxes. This review is for their Summer Luxury Box. (It was announced mid-July and arrived about a month later.)

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Box: Artistry Gifts Summer Luxury Box

The Cost: $150

The Products:

Included in this special edition box will be a Slippa Luxury Circle Beach Towel (value $79) as well as several other summertime must haves. Buy your box today!

PortraitSession-002

This box comes with a card detailing all the items included.

PortraitSession-018

Slippa Eddy Circle Towel - Value $80

This is the summer of the circle towel! I like that Artistry Gifts spoiled this item up front (it's the most expensive item in the box) and they let customers pick which pattern they wanted. I had to go with this style - I don't have anything like it, and I love the bright blues!

It's also really constructed with a quality 100% cotton velour - exactly what you'd expect from a $80 towel!

It measures 5 feet across, and here is my friend Sara holding it up to give you an even better sense of scale:

Illume Coconut Milk Mango Bubble Bath - Value $32.50

I really love the Illume brand (fabulous candles!) and this packaging is lovely. So, basically, I was in love with this bubble bath before I even tried it! That glass bottle, the pale pink bubble bath, the white and black bakers twine - amazing!

But enough packaging love, onto the actual product! The scent is like a tropical cocktail, and the formula is pretty moisturizing, too. I'm a fan! I just wish I could find this product for sale online!

PortraitSession-016

Ame & Lulu Wet Bathing Suit Bag - Value $28 (On sale for $22)

This is a pretty roomy bag. It measures 9 by 14 inches, and it is completely lined on the inside with vinyl for wet swimsuits. It also would be great as a travel bag for any beauty items that might leak a little in transit:

And with the wristlet style and canvas fabric print, I think this could work as a purse, too!

PortraitSession-008

Michel Designs Works Hand Soap and Hostess Napkin Set - Value $28.50

PortraitSession-013

This set is perfect for a powder room.

PortraitSession-014

I was expecting the soap to be floral scented based on the napkin designs, but it was a surprisingly light, fresh scent. It's foaming, too!

Here is a better look at the napkins:

Papersource You Are My Sunshine Pillow - Value $15

I love getting home items in subscription boxes, and Artistry Gifts almost always includes them in their boxes! I'm also impressed with the quality of this pillow for the price. This pillow case is a printed canvas with a hidden zipper, so to get the case plus the insert for $15 seems like a great value to me!

Here is a closer look at the printed words:

PortraitSession-021

Napoleon Hard Candy - Value $.50

These candies are slightly sour and very addictive!

PortraitSession-022

And here is a bonus sample not listed on the card:

PortraitSession-023

Archipelago Botanicals Coconut Hand Creme - Sample

I am a big fan of coconut scented products, so this was a great sample for me. The formula absorbs quickly, and the scent isn't too strong either. (And it is paraben-free!)

Verdict: This box has a value of about $184 (or $178 if you go by the sale price of the bag). I would have loved to see a higher value for a $150 box, but I think this type of cost to value ratio is what you can expect from Artistry Gifts, so I wasn't disappointed. I also think in the future they should sell the Summer Box in May and ship in June instead of selling in July and shipping in August - I'm almost ready for fall at this point!

Those issues aside, I think Artistry Gifts does a great job of working with brands that their subscribers will know and love - and everything in this box is great quality.

I’m not trying to be critical, the items are nice but…… If I could afford a $150 box, I’d prefer to go shopping to buy 5 or 6 really nice items. Jus’ sayin’

Be careful, I’d check online to see if the towel shrinks. My towel from popsugar the Tofino towel company not only shrunk big time but faded really bad too all on the first wash. Very sad about that being I was so excited to get it. Hopefully the material of this one doesn’t.

Although I love the items in this box….1- it shipped way to late for a summer box (I’m already thinking fall) & 2- the value just isn’t there compared to some other boxes….$150 for $178 worth of product? I’ve just been to spoiled by PSMH LE and Luxor boxes to think this is a good value…..but it really is a nice box…just one or two more items and it could have been worth it.

Very pretty items, great review as always Liz. I just can’t get into this box for the price though! And I’m a sub junkie! I get a lot of them all of the time! It’s just not a great value, or anything really different than what I already receive from PopSugar (I get the monthly and all Le boxes) and seasonal Rachel Zoe on the higher end, then I get lots of beauty boxes, I think 5 of them now! So it’s a huge variety. and several other types. But I’m always looking at the variety and value. I pick up new ones and drop one here and there…I want to love this one and try it!

That is a great price for the pillow! Even with a 50% of coupon at Joann’s, I would have a hard time getting a pillow form and case for less than $15. I sing You are my Sunshine to my oldest daughter every night. This pillow will be perfect for her bed, so hopefully I can trade for it (it appears to be sold out now). PaperSource looks like such a fun shop! I already have big hopes for Black Friday.

P.S. I love your friend’s shoes.

Yes, I love the shoes, too!

I believe I’ve seen pillows very similar to this with the exact phrase at TJMaxx and they are in the $15-20 price range too.

I know this sounds terrible, but I just don’t find this company tempting because of the poor graphics and design work on the packaging and website. Part of my job is working with designers to produce beautiful print and graphic pieces on a nonprofit nonbudget. The use of fonts, logo, etc., screams unprofessional, logos created in Word in 1996 to me. Superficial I know but good design an packaging are kryptonite to me :I.

The bubble bath is sold on Amazon.

My box was exactly the same as yours except I got the navy blue circle towel and I LOVE it. I thought this was a great box. I will use everything.

I didn’t receive the bag , but that’s ok because I don’t really like it . I have to agree with you on the value of the box . I was a little disappointed. I liked everything in the box but I was hoping for something extra special for 150 dollars .
Lesson learned

Thanks so much for the review. I’ve been curious about this box for a while and because of your reviews I feel like I have a good sense for both their regular subscription and their luxury boxes.

I like this box – everything is super usable, which makes the high cost to value ratio a little more palatable. I also LOVE that you can customize it…again, it increases the likelihood of actually liking and using all of the contents, which, again, is critical when the price almost equals the value. But I also agree that a towel received in mid-August won’t get that much more use (never mind that so many other subs have sent out round towels this season – I’m willing to bet most Artistry subscribers get other boxes as well and probably have received at least one other round towel or blanket already).

I do like this box, but offering it at near retail price makes it hard to pull the trigger. Liz – I can’t thank you enough for the review…it’s been super helpful in my subscription decision!

So glad to hear this review was helpful – thank you, Karen! I’ll be reviewing the monthly subscription, too. I should have that review up in the next day or two! 🙂
