target-july-simply-radiant-box-shampoo

Acure Organics Facial Cleansing Gel - 1 oz Value $2.50

I love Acure products - they are inexpensive all-natural formulas that work really well. I highly recommend checking out their line if you have any ingredients you need to avoid in skincare. This cleanser smells fresh, did the job, and didn't leave my skin feeling dry after. All good things!

Dessange Paris Purifying Clay Balancing Shampoo - FULL SIZE! Value $10

This item alone covers the cost of the box, and it's one of my favorite discoveries in the box. It smells good, helps with greasy roots, and the shampoo color matches the bottle!

target-july-simply-radiant-box-loreal

L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Color Vibrancy Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner - 100 ml Value $1

I previously have been avoiding haircare with sulfates since my hair is color-treated, but several MSA readers let me know this isn't necessary, so I had to give these a try. (Plus they are specifically for color treated hair.)

I liked this set, but my favorite haircare product of the box is the Dessange shampoo!

target-july-simply-radiant-box-mascara

Wet n Wild Max Fantastic Mascara - FULL SIZE! Value $5

Wet n Wild takes me back to my middle school/high school days! I haven't tried this brand in a while, and I am seriously impressed with the formula for a $5 mascara! I tried to get a picture of it on so you can compare with and without mascara to see the difference:

target-july-simply-radiant-box-eyes

It had the volume, length and lash separation I always look for in a mascara - that's an A in my book!

target-july-simply-radiant-box-derma-e

Derma E Firming DMAE Eye Lift - .14 oz Value $7

This eye cream absorbs quickly and left my skin feeling soft and smooth. And my favorite part - it doesn't have a strong scent like some Derma E products have!

Aquaphor Healing Ointment - .25 oz Value $.50

This is one of those staples I'm always happy to have on hand for super dry skin, or even just to put in the first aid kit.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $26. I think that's a great value for a $7 beauty box, and I'll use everything in this box, so the value is there for me personally, as well. The mascara and shampoo were great discoveries, too!

This was an ok box for me. I really love the full size Dessange shampoo. Unlike everyone else i didn’t really like the mascara that much. It didn’t give me cat eyes and it wasn’t great at lengthening or volumizing. I did not like the brush either.

I was pretty happy with this box. I’ve already used the Derma E product and I like it. I love Aquephor, I always use it when I get a new tattoo, so I’m glad to have some for my next tattoo! The full size shampoo is great, but I do wish they didn’t have two shampoos.

When I looked up the Aquaphor(.25oz) on the Target.com website it says cost is $2.79. Walmart.com cost is $5.03.(surprised to see such contrast in price between the 2 stores).
I am wanting more because my husband tried it and its the only thing he has ever used for chapped lips that didn’t aggravate his cold sore.
When you are reviewing boxes is the retail value what you use to appraise products?,
because you valued the Aquaphor at only .50cents.

Hi Kelly,

I found the Aquaphor on the Target site at the price of $6.99 for 3.5 oz ($2 an ounce) to get the $.50 value for a .25 oz sample. Here is the link for that item:
http://www.target.com/p/aquaphor-healing-ointment-3-5-oz/-/A-11005119

Hope that makes sense. Sorry for any confusion!

Wet N Wild is also cruelty-free and have vegan options, too. It’s great to find another inexpensive, yet quality drugstore brand that is cruelty-free.

I too love that dessange shampoo, I even tried to find the matching conditioner at target this weekend but they were out of the clay one. Excited to hear that the wet & wild Mascara is awesome. I really think they are stepping up their game. I am excited to try the other products. Like others have said this was way better then my Birchbox… I’m going to keep work Birchbox for a couple more boxes, then I’ll focus on these and the big Allure boxes!

That mascara made your lashes beautiful! That brand is one I remember from my own teenage foray into makeup! Thanks for posting that because I came really close to giving that mascara to my 14 year old niece! Now I am keeping it for myself. 🙂

Ha, me too! I was going to dispatch it to someone else until I saw Liz and her luscious lashes; now I want to try it!

Liz, I kind of laughed and Poo-poo’d the Wet and Wild mascara and the odd looking wand. (“What am I—Fifteen years old?!) but am seriously impressed with the length and separation you achieved with that $5 bargain, which means I should try before I judge, and stop being a mascara snob. Good lesson. Thanks for the informative review.

I love the cleanser and the Dessange shampoo. My scalp isn’t super oily but I live in florida and its soo hot.. enough said:) It worked wonders on my hair and made it super soft and just amazing feeling. oh and the aquafor ointment is awesome too. I’ve never tried it before. I put it on my cutivles at night and in the morning my normally dry hands and cuticles are so soft and moisturized. This will be a staple in my night skin care routine. I have always done my face but now I do my face hands and feet! I’m glad I got this box!

You’re right to a out sulfates (and silicones) I tour hair care products. Sulfates do fade color a lot quicker and for those who say it doesn’t well, you’re lucky that you’ve had that with your hair, but it does. Most drugstore brands are horrific for the hair. They feel good because of the silicones or water soluble fake cones cover the hair strand and make it feel better when it’s not conditioned or anything. Brands at whole foods and things are generally nice though, organic is good not just to eat 🙂

I didn’t care for this box :/ I have everything to a friend maaan.

I love the mascara! I grabbed yesterday in a rush out the door and I was pleasantly shocked! I will definitely buy it again! It survived almost 100 degree heat and humidity; yet, removed easily with makeup wipes. And you definitely cannot beat the price point!

So much better than Birchbox.

There were so many complaints in the comments of the spoiler post but I am so glad I ignored them and got the 2 boxes. The size of the samples were very generous in this box and I have been wanting to try a clay/mud shampoo to help with my seborrheic dermatitis. It is a bit drying for me so when I use it, I follow up with a good conditioner. The mascara looks amazing on Liz ! I love that she tries stuff on and shows us what it looks like.

I’ve purchased and received this Target Beauty Box before. Will I automatically receive this each month or do I have to go online and purchase it every month???

Reply ButtonReply

Christina

You have to go online when it becomes available and order it then. Usually the first Monday or business day of the month. If you sign up for spoiler alerts, you will get an email from this site when it goes live.

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda

So I have to catch it every month and order online. Thanks Christina.

Bummer. I sent one to my sis but did not get one for myself. It’s better than I thought. 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Rebecca

When I received mine, I actually went and ordered a second.

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

Ha! I was just thinking the exact same thing. 🙂 I didn’t need more mascara, and I have a bunch of samples of that L’Oreal shampoo/conditioner but that shampoo seems pretty impressive.

Reply ButtonReply

Barbie

I’m happy with this box. That Dessange shampoo is huge! Some commented that it seemed heavy on hair care. I co-wash most of the time, but when I do feel the need to shampoo, I happily never have to buy it. I really like the L’Oreal line, so I was happy to get those samples.

After all the ravs about this mascara, I’m going to bump it up in the line and give it a try! (Wet n’ Wild used to be my fav – mostly for the price, but some of their stuff is really great.)

All in all, for 7 bucks, you couldn’t go wrong with this one!

Liz Cadman

Hope you love the mascara, too! 🙂

Barbie

If my lashes look half as great as yours, I will! 🙂

lisa

I was amazed by the mascara too! At first it was going into my giveaway pile, but then I saw the brush and had to try it. Call me crazy but it is better than the 20+ samples of expensive mascara I have received over the past 6 months.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

YES! If I didn’t see the brand of this one, I would have assumed it was $20+ mascara. So good! 🙂

I am so happy I got this box. I was on the fence until I saw that the shampoo would more than pay for the box, so I took the plunge. My hair looooves this shampoo. It’s such a luxurious lather and my hair feels clean and shiny without being stripped of moisture on the ends. The smell isn’t my favorite, but it isn’t exactly unpleasant, either. Thanks for showing the mascara!!

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Glad it was helpful to show the mascara – thanks for letting me know! (I’ll try to do that more in the future.)

Reply ButtonReply

Katie

Now I wish I had ordered this box.

Nan

I looked earlier today and it was still available 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Chantel

Loving the full size shampoo! I am so glad you showed the mascara. I was totally throwing that in my giveaway pile. Wet ‘n wild was a brand I bought in 6th and 7th grade when I had no clue about make up! I believe their products were 99 cents or something. Ha ha?

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Yes! Wet n Wild was totally my intro-to-makeup cheap brand when I was in middle school. Who knew it was still good? I’m so happy I tried the mascara out! 🙂

Andrea

I was so sad, my big shampoo didn’t have the lid on it and the entire contents of the bottle were everywhere! I got a refund, but I really wanted to try it.

Reply ButtonReply

Nan

My lid was missing too. It was a mess! They said the will send me another box but it’s out of stock and I haven’t received anything so far. Disappointed.

Reply ButtonReply

Nan

Update: I just received my new box in the mail this afternoon. Can’t wait to try everything!

Andrea

I got mine and contacted them before it restocked, then the next day it was there again. I could have repurchased, but with the coupon I used I only got $5 something in credit, so I didn’t want to pay $7 again. The other products were mostly usable after a lot of scrubbing of shampoo! That stuff got everywhere, up under the lids of everything. And of course it was 95 that day, so it was a hot, gooey, stinky mess!

Tat

The Dessange shampoo is amazing. Finally, a sub shampoo for oily hair. Dessange was a small, very upscale chain of hair salons. They used to have crystal sconces and Oriental rugs. My mom dragged me in once when I was a kid. I was terrified….

Pamela

I was thrilled with both of my Target boxes. I’m looking forward to the next.
