Petkin Doggy Sunstick with SPF 15 (0.5 oz) – Value $4.99
Well, I never thought of using sunscreen on a dog. Although, my sister used to have this boxer/bulldog mix with very light, thin, short hair back when she lived near Myrtle Beach, and there is a dog who totally could’ve used such a product. I will probably try to find someone to send this to whose dog will get more use out of it than Nyx will (Nyx is immune suppressed and can’t spend much time outside).
Petrageous Designs Rough Rageous Football (gray/aqua, 15”) – Value $15.94
This is kind of a football and kind of a rope. Nyx doesn’t really care what shape it is and she did have fun with it. It seems fairly sturdy, as dog toys go.
Puppy Scoops Maple Bacon Flavor Ice Cream Mix for Dogs (6 oz) – Value $6.99
You mix this with water and freeze it. My mom had to have one of her dogs put down over the weekend and her other dog is very sad and missing her buddy, so I think I am sending this ice cream to her since her remaining dog likes this stuff a lot and needs to be babied for awhile. This is made with real (lactose-free) milk.
Exclusively Dog Cookies Carob Flavor Wafer Cookies (8 oz) – Value $4.99
Last month in PetPack, we got sandwich cookies from Exclusively Dog. This month, we got these carob flavor wafer cookies. These are pretty big and are suitable for giving to a large dog as-is. These are probably easier to break up into bits to give to smaller dogs than the sandwich cookies from last month. They are kosher and made in the USA.
I only let Nyx have this for a little while because she has a scab on her lip (super dry skin is a side effect of one of her medications) that came open and she bled on my couch. The vet looked at it and said basically, don’t let her have any toys for a few days. But, on the plus side, this toy isn’t totally destroyed and she’ll get to play with it again.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $32.91 for the July 2016 PetPack for dogs. That is a much better value than last month and is just shy of the cost of the subscription (month-to-month) plus shipping. The toy seemed quite durable and the ice cream and sunscreen are super appropriate for summer. Since PetPack tends to have a somewhat lower value, using our MSA2016 coupon will lower the month-to-month cost.
What do you think of the July 2016 PetPack? Do you subscribe to any dog or cat boxes?
