Nerd Block + IGN Limited Edition Block Review - all items

Nerd Block + IGN Limited Edition Block Review - card front

Nerd Block + IGN Limited Edition Block Review - card back

They included a card, like a normal block, with information about the items inside - including all of the different variants you might have received.

Nerd Block + IGN Limited Edition Block Review - Deadpool shirt

Deadpool Shirt - Value $15?

This shirt was actually spoiled, so we knew it was coming - but this an exclusive Deadpool shirt from ShirtPunch. I like that it's a Marvel licensed shirt - so it's just a plain Deadpool shirt - I'm happy with that.

Nerd Block + IGN Limited Edition Block Review - IGN swag

IGN Swag - Value $10-15?

I grouped these together since they were all sporting the IGN logo. Included are a tote, bumper sticker, and IGN pin.

Nerd Block + IGN Limited Edition Block Review - autograph

IGN Crew Autograph - Value ?

The last IGN specific item is an autograph from an IGN team member. There were numerous possibilities - I got Destin Legarie who is part of the video team. I think the value of these is based on how much of an IGN fan you are.

Nerd Block + IGN Limited Edition Block Review - POP

Orgrim Funko POP - Value $9 on Amazon

You could have received one of two POPs. Orgrim from Warcraft ,who I received, or the T60 Power Armor from Fallout!

Nerd Block + IGN Limited Edition Block Review - Resident Evil mini statue

Resident Evil 3 Figure – Nemesis – Value $15-20?

They included 3 items from past Arcade Blocks - I'll get to that in the verdict - one was this Nemesis mini statue from the March Arcade Block. It's a cool little statue, but a duplicate for me.

Nerd Block + IGN Limited Edition Block Review - comic

Deus Ex Universe #1 - Value $3.99

This is an exclusive variant cover from Titan comics. I remember when this was a popular game back in 2000 - I never got into it then, though. I love how a lot of shorter-lived franchises find new life through comics, though!

Nerd Block + IGN Limited Edition Block Review - controller

NES USB Game Controller - Value $10 on Amazon

Any fan of NES emulators will have a blast with this NES controller! It's compatible with PC and Mac, which is always a win for a Mac user such as myself with any subscription box that has digital content or computer accessories.

Also, if you haven't heard - NES is doubling-down on nostalgia this year with the release of their mini NES consoles!

How great is this! I love this, but I kind of wish there was a bit of new technology with it with regards to the controllers - I don't have a direct line of sight to have a cord connected, so I wish it was wireless.

Anyways, back to the controller - instant nostalgia when you start using it!

Nerd Block + IGN Limited Edition Block Review - Gears of War notebook

Gears of War Journal - Value $6 on Amazon

You receive one of 5 different branded journals. Ethier Fallout, Diablo, Gears of War, World of Warcraft, or Uncharted.

Nerd Block + IGN Limited Edition Block Review - notebook inside

This has some great artwork on the front and back lining. it's 192 pages and has a little pocket on the back lining - overall, it's really nice quality.

Nerd Block + IGN Limited Edition Block Review - Street Fighter patch

Street Fighter Patch - Value $5?

This is a patch from the December 2015 Arcade Block.

Nerd Block + IGN Limited Edition Block Review - cards

Classic Console Cards - Value $5?

Also from the December 2015 Arcade Block are these cards. Although this is a duplicate item for me - they're still cool. Here's a gif from the original post:

Nerd Block + IGN Limited Edition Block Review - print

Russ Moore "Epona's Song" Print - Value $10?

This 8x10 print was on higher-quality glossy paper. I actually received two of them (I guess they got stuck together?). I think it's a nice print for a Legend of Zelda fan.

Nerd Block + IGN Limited Edition Block Review - shirtpunch voucher

ShirtPunch Voucher - $10

Yay! I love this new perk. I always go get a Funko POP on my wishlist for just the cost of shipping ($6 to the US).

Verdict: The value was there for a $40 box - but this is a limited edition box that really left me wanting more. My biggest gripe is that they're assuming that you didn't get any past Arcade Blocks and included items as a "bonus". I liked the POP, shirt, controller, and journal - but everything else, especially the IGN branded exclusives, just felt like filler.

What did you think of the Nerd Block + IGN Block? Did this pack enough punch for a limited edition box to you?

Did they really include an autograph photo of the company’s Senior Features Producer? That eerie. Are they expecting people to hang it next to their LeBron James poster?

I threw that away right after a saw it…was that supposed to be a joke?

I hope so…but it wasn’t funny.

I still have one of the original controllers. And an 8-bit NES (though it was a redesign from the 1990s instead of the original style).

Eric

That original controller will work in the new mini system (even though you have a working system) – it’s just so tiny and awesome

Wow, this is totally underwhelming. Glad I didn’t order this. I do dream of the day I spy some Dragon Age stuff in a box though, I’d be all over that.

Maya

I may or may not have been suggesting Dragon Age in the survey each month..

I jumped on it on impulse and guess I’m receiving a lot of duplicates as I’ve been with arcade block for a year (and a half?)

Controller is cool. Shirt is nice.

I’m… Disappointed. On the bright side it will be easy to gift the duplicates and I don’t have either of those pops so will be happy with either one.

Same, I did this box on impulse, received it today and was deeply disappointed. 4 ign items is WAY too many when half the rest are duplicates. Thought with ign this had a chance to be one of the best boxes I could get. Instead it was the biggest let down.

This is the second time I was let down with these boxes…oh well…like IGN gives a S*&% if I like any of it….but this wont happen a 3rd time. Its like someone is giving me everything I hate…but worse since I gave them my money to buy the junk…

This stuff feels like they cleaned out the “Free swag NO ONE wants Closet” … I was actually swearing incoherently when I seen that they gave either a WOW doll or a Fallout 4 doll….really?! Who likes both of those games enough to be happy with either one…I got D*^! punched with the WOW Ogre who’s annoying little IGN face is now a door stop so whenever I think about the money I lost I can slam this jerks face into the door.

I did like the shirt though….just sayin…..

Sarah

Ahhhh…my thumbs are almost sore thinking back to all those countless hours of mashing away at that controller. What a fun item!

That’s the first thing I thought of too!
