Secret A Magic Foot Care Mask - $3
Both the info card and website says that I should have received a Foot Peeling Mask, but I got the Foot Care Pack. It's disappointing since I was looking forward to foot peels.
The Foot Care Mask is a moisturizing foot mask that involves slipping your feet into plastic foot-shaped gloves with essence in them. I didn't really like the weird fragrance but my feet felt very moisturized after use. The essence didn't absorb quickly, though, so I stumbled around with slippery feet until I decided to wash it off.
Secret A Secret Girl Wing Patch - $2
This is a wing-shaped mask for your back! It's meant to help soothe sunburns and can be used on any area with sunburn. I will save this for a day when I don't put on enough sunscreen and must face the consequences.
April Skin Mermaid Hydrogel Mask - $5
This two-piece hydrogel mask felt very hydrating and stayed moist for a long time. The fragrance was pleasant and I liked the fit. I'm baffled as to why April Skin's website is selling it for $22 a piece... Memebox lists this at $5.
Take Out Spa My Lemon Juicy Gel - $8
Can we first appreciate that this gel looks like a beverage can? The bottom is labeled "cold process juicy gel" and it even says "DO NOT DRINK" at the top. K-beauty has gotten way too good at imitating food products!
This is a versatile moisturizing gel that can be used in multiple ways. You can soak a cotton pad and use as a soothing patch, or mix into foundation for dewy makeup, or apply to nails with a cotton pad for cuticle care. I used this on my face and body as light moisturizer and it worked wonderfully. My only complaint is that it's difficult to get gel out of the bottle.
O.R.G Skincare Mineral Peel Face 5ml - $5
I received the full size of this in the Summer 2015 Rachel Zoe Box of Style but swapped it away (to my regret). The sample features a nice nozzle pump and 3-5 pumps are enough to cover my face. It lasted me 6 uses. Upon rubbing the liquid starts to pill under my fingers. The pilling is very minimal compared to other peeling gels I've used. After washing everything off my face feels velvety smooth.
Facezine Yummy Hand Syrup in Apple - $5
Normally I wouldn't be excited to see hand cream in the middle of summer, but this is an exception. It smells unobtrusively like apple fruit snacks. The cream feels lightweight, absorbs very quickly, and leaves no sticky residue. I like this a lot.
Verdict: I think the Memebox's Summer Essentials Box is a pretty fun and affordable way to explore K-beauty. The total value is $28, which is more than twice the cost of this particular box. I'm a little bummed that my foot peel was switched out for a foot mask, but overall I liked all included items.
Currently Memebox has free shipping on all orders (7-10 day shipping for under $35, 2-4 day shipping for $35+), so I would take advantage of it and get some cool boxes.
