This is the only piece of literature that arrived in my box this month, but it's an important feature of Instaglam: they accept returns (for credit) and exchanges!

Black Chiffon Tank Top

Instaglam sends subscribers a short quiz every month which basically asks two things. First, they give you a choice of two different tops to choose from. This was my choice. Thank you so much to everyone for being supportive of my foray into the world of modeling! This month I'm taking another big step by modeling the top I chose, in my usual size, and showing you that it's kind of too small for me. It's a basic chiffon black tank top, which I thought would be great for layering, but as you know, chiffon doesn't stretch. I believe every top I've received from Instaglam so far has had stretch and has been fine, but now I am concerned that their sizes may run small. I think next month's top is also non-stretchy, so we will know more soon.

instaglam-jul-cami

Black Camisole

In the picture of myself above, I am wearing this cami underneath the tank, but you can't really see it. I'm afraid I don't really understand the concept of layering a cami that can't be seen, but it's always good to have a black cami.

Gold Bracelet

The second thing Instaglam asks on its survey is whether you want gold, silver, or surprise metals. I always choose surprise! I usually can't wear bangles because I have gigantic hands, but this clever bracelet is actually four parts of a bracelet on a stretchy cord, so it was no problem. It fits more like a cuff on me, but it might be bangle-y on women with smaller wrists. I like it! Bonus: the brand name of this bracelet cracked me up a little.

instaglam-jul-studs

Gem Studs

I always like a nice pair of colored "gem" studs. They are plastic, but they're a pretty color and will be great for extremely casual use.

instaglam-jul-set

Necklace & Earrings Set

My last items was this pretty jewelry set, and I really like it! Plus I am totally in the mood for statement gold right now.

instaglam-jul-necklace

I really like the design of the necklace. It's so bold and shiny!

instaglam-jul-earrings

I'm a little hesitant about wearing jewelry sets that match so closely, but I will definitely get a lot of use out of the two pieces separately. Fun!

Verdict: I love Instaglam! That being said, I have a little bit of anxiety about their sizing now that I've tried a non-stretchy shirt from them. Fortunately, they accept exchanges and returns, so I might have to return this top. Otherwise, I like everything else I received and will use it all! I don't have any real way of quantifying the values, but I think $56 for a top, a cami, two pairs of earrings, a bracelet, and a necklace is a great deal!

What do you think of Instaglam? Have you had any issues with sizing?

JenK

How do you choose your size and top? I just signed up for 2 subscriptions and can’t find those options anywhere. :/

Hi JenK! She will email you a survey every month to pick your top and size. Hope this helps!

Oh, ok! Thanks so much! Love your reviews!

monah

So, the card that said genuine Australian crystals were plastic “crystals?”

Anna

OMG I didn’t even notice that! Good catch, monah! I think I just assumed they were plastic maybe because of the color? They totally could be and I just didn’t realize.

Is the tank uncomfortably small because iit looks pretty nice on you. I think if it was worn with a slinkier fabric pants or skirt, it would lay nicer around the waist. Jeans are bulky at the waist.

Hi Tiffany! Thanks for not noticing it’s pinching me a bit under the arms. 🙂 It’s not ridiculously too small, but the other thing you can’t see is that it’s not hanging in the back, it’s kinda bunching up at my lower back. Idk how many other plus sized ladies like myself are perpetually trying to lose weight, but I know many of us who are have an “almost there” stash of clothes. That’s where this tank currently resides…

I never used to look at the reviews for the boxes, but in the last few weeks I have been, I love them. But I think this one is my favorite because it involves a fellow plus size woman. Someone I can relate to. No offence to the other beautiful models. I think the tank looks good, but after reading you say it pinched a little under the arms I can totally relate to that. And having big wrists (my ankles are huge, wrist aren’t so bad) another thing I can relate to. Wonderful review! And you’re a beautiful model, I hope to read and see more reviews by you. (I haven’t seen any other ones, but now I will be on the lookout hehe)

I wear camis under shirts that are a little sheer. I also wear them to provide a little less clingy-ness. So even if they can’t be seen, they do help. I also have a rather large bust (40F) and sometimes wear a cami if a top is cut too low to provide some extra modesty.

Yep, the tank is a little sheer. Good thinking, mimi!

The top (which I really like) looks very nice on you, I’m surprised to see you say it’s too small! I’m someone who wears a Cami (with a shelf bra) as an under shirt everyday. I feel like it keeps all my fat contained! ?
