The Subscription Box: Inspired Room Box

The Cost: $54.97 a month plus $8 shipping

The Products: 3-5 home products in each box. Each month is themed for a different room in your home. So by the end of the year, you will have gorgeous new touches in each room of your home for an updated look. The first month’s box for June is themed this way: “Your Inspired Master Bedroom”.

Good to Know: This box uses PayPal for transactions! (I always recommend using PayPal on any new subscription that you may not be sure about since PayPal offers buyer protection, and it is easy to cancel your subscription from your PayPal account.)

The subscription box comes with an info card detailing the items included. There's also a design tip from Jill Weadick!

Geometric Diamond Cut Candle-Holders - Value $50

These are my favorite items in the box! I love gold accents and the shiny metallic interior mixed with the matte white exterior is such a stylish combo!

And the candlelight reflecting in the gold finish is gorgeous, too.

Aromasoy Tranquil Sleep Candle - Value $15

I like that you can easily just rotate this candle if you don't want to show the label to have a candle that will work with any style of room:

The scent was a little too powdery/floral for me, though. It will be gifted!

Brass Foliage Dish - Value $20

Inspired Room-183

This tiny gingko leaf dish is perfectly sized for a nightstand or bathroom counter.

It could make a very fancy soap dish, too!

Free Gift Lavender Sachet

While I'm not against free extras in a box, something about this lavender sachet and the mints below reminded me of wedding favors and felt a little out of place in the box.

Fresh White Mints - Value Listed $4

These were listed as $4 on the info card. Again, they felt out of place to me in a design box, but maybe they are intended to be display mints? (Is that a thing?)

Verdict: This box has a value of about $89. The total cost with shipping was $63, so I think that's pretty good for the first box from Inspired Room Box. Home products also have slimmer margins compared to fashion or beauty categories, so I have to remind myself that I'm not going to get the same kind of value in a box like this that I would in a Boxycharm box, for example.

I think the home/design subscription box category is underserved, so I'm really happy to see this new offering from Inspired Room Box. I also like that they offer you different style options to better cater to your taste.

Maybe it is a “southern thing”, but I know a lot of women that keep mints on their bedside table. Also my grandmother and her sisters all keep lavender in their dresser drawers.

My grandmother was first a generation American, he parents from Spain, and she always kept mints in the guest bedroom on the nightstand. We lived in New England area. I think it may just be that generation? They do make a cute option for the little tray though. I feel like this is a box that could get more interesting and that the items included had a nice cohesive theme on the larger items. Those containers would make a unique modern option for displaying in a vanity for makeup brushes etc.

Oh sleepy typos haha.

Totally! Southern deal for sure. Maybe the mints were intended to go on the ginkgo leaf bowl/plate/thing?

My guess for the mints is that bedrooms are for lovin’ and you need fresh breath for lovin’ :-). I’m putting the lavender sash in my intimates drawer. Voila!

I got the Rustic configuration. I was disappointed to get only one vase since the promo picture featured two, but I really love the coconut bowl I received. The mints also felt out of place to me in a bedroom-themed box.
