Cairn is a subscription service that delivers outdoor gear every month. They bill their service as "Your Monthly Box of Outdoor Discovery." My family loves to get outdoors as much as possible, and we love discovering new gear!

When I signed up for Cairn, they asked me to do a huge questionnaire for customization purposes. It asked questions about the types of outdoor activities I like, and I chose hiking, camping (car), backpacking, and yoga. They had loads of options, though, like rock climbing, mountain biking, fishing -- just about everything I could think of! They also asked a few lifestyle questions (kids? dogs?) plus basics like t-shirt size.

All this leads me to believe that contents may vary from subscriber to subscriber, so if you subscribe but get different things, please let us know!

Point 6 Light Mini Hiking Socks - Value $16.95

Having great socks is key to enjoying a good hike, so I was happy to see these in the box! I personally plan on staying in the house until late September at this point - this heat is no joke! But I know we will get out into some good hikes as soon as it cools off. These are super comfy!

Mission Techknit Towel - Value $17.99

Welcome to My Summer of Cooling Towels! I think this might be the 8th or 9th one I've received in subscription boxes this summer! Fortunately, I am always happy to have more. They really come in handy, and this is a particularly nice one.

cairn-jul-sunscreen

Surface Face Stick SPF 45 - Value $10.56

There is one exception to my self-imposed air-conditioned imprisonment this summer, and that's swimming! This stick is perfect for water sport. Plus I bet the kids will look adorable with white noses.

cairn-jul-snack

Moroccan Your World Picky Bar - Value $2.75

This does have added sugar, but I tried it anyway because I am weak when it comes to Moroccan food. It has a lot of good things going on despite the sugar, like turmeric, ginger, and other health-promoting spices. It was super tasty, but I feel like with all that added sugar it should have been much more delicious, so I was a little disappointed.

cairn-jul-coupons

Usually we get an envelope from Cairn with lots of coupons in it, but Cairn recently switched to a card with all the promo codes printed on it. That's so much more handy and eco-friendly!

Verdict: We love our Cairn subscription! We have discovered so many new and useful products for our camping and hiking adventures through Cairn. This month wasn't the most exciting month ever, but I bet we we will still use it all. The value of everything this month totals about $48, which is great for a $25 box!

This month is my first box. Slightly sad that I didn’t get the charger/flashlight or even the socks. I got Titongs Set, SpiceBox, Spice 3-Pack and the Moroccan Your World bar. So I guess not everybody gets the same items.

I had a few different things in my box…
Point6 Ultralight 3/4 Crew Sock
2skin Anti-Chafing Gel
Surface Dry Touch Sunscreen
Run Gum Sampler Pack

I actually changed my preferences after this box because I didn’t feel it suited the activities I enjoy… hopefully next month is more exciting 😉

My box had a 3 pack of socks, suncreen, Run gum, and anti chaffing spray. I realize my box was geared towards trail runners. I like it a lot, but I did go in and update my profile to get more camping/hiking items since I would like to stock up on those.

All the reviews I’ve seen for this box got this exact one, but us. I bought my son 6 months as a gift and this was his first box. He said he got the bar & the Surface face stick and a electronic charger/flashlight (I can’t remember the brand he said it was). He didn’t get a 4th item. He was a little disappointed he didn’t get either the socks you got or the ones with the toes most reviewers I’ve seen got. I was a little disappointed, I was expecting something exciting for his first box, and well who doesn’t already have portable chargers.

I got the same box as your son. I am curious for this month’s box.

I got the same thing and was a little bummed until the day after my box came when my cat decided my other battery pack needed to take a swim in his water dish.

Ragan

I got that exact same cooling towel twice in July in fitness boxes.
