BEAUTY DNA JULY 2016 - info 1

This box comes with a card that details the item included and a why it matches your specific interests and preferences.

BEAUTY DNA JULY 2016 - info 2

This month I got a bonus match. I don’t know why – my guess is because the retail value of the main item is lower than I usually receive.

BEAUTY DNA JULY 2016 - info 3

I love how thoroughly they break down the details of the product they picked and also why they chose it, based off of your profile and preferences.

I’m always impressed with how thoroughly they match products, and how many details they take into consideration. For example, they even note that this has a citrus scent, which I like, but has no rose or spice scent, which I have marked as dislikes.

BEAUTY DNA JULY 2016 - items 1

K Voss Coconut Body Scrub – 8 oz, value: $36

My main pick this month is the K Voss Coconut Body scrub (although, I bet I’d love the cinnamon vanilla or espresso body scrubs even more!). This is 100% vegan, natural, and gluten-free and cleanses, exfoliates, and moisturizes all at the same time. It’s made with demerara sugar, coconut oil, almond oil, and coconut flakes.

BEAUTY DNA JULY 2016 - items 2

Here’s what it looks like. Something about it initially grossed me out and I don’t know why – but I’ve actually come to love it. I especially love that the coconut flakes are the exfoliating agent!

Here’s the info card for my bonus gift this month.

BEAUTY DNA JULY 2016 - ITEMS 3

Kora Organics Vitamin Enhanced Lip Balm - 0.34 oz, value: $21

I got a moisturizer from Kora Organics a couple months ago and loved it – I’m so excited to have this balm. I leave it on my nightstand and I put it on before bed. The formula is great and has jojoba, avocado, and rosehip extracts, and is enhanced with vitamin C and E.

Verdict: I’m happy with this Beauty DNA box. I wish I could have tried a different version of the body scrub, but I still like it. I love reading all the specific ways they narrow down what to send me. I have found that I love the value every month, too. This month I got $57 worth of product for $25, which I’m happy with. It’s not the best value I’ve gotten out of Beauty DNA, but it’s still good!

What do you think of Beauty DNA? What did you get from them this month? Have you found that they match all your preferences well?

This box really is the best box around. Last month I received a product from Dr. Dennis Gross that is currently selling at Sephora for $165.00 and it really works. The trick to getting what you want and not getting what don’t want or need is in how you fill out the all important profile. If you don’t want a product for acne because you’re treating with a dermatologist then don’t mention it, don’t put it on your profile. They have a computer that uses algorithms to find products for their subscribers and they are very responsive to the profiles. You won’t get the same type of product in the year but you might get a variety of products that address the same issue in different ways. Also take your time while filling out the profile, you’re only hurting yourself if you don’t. By the way. Beauty DNA appreciates their customers, after I had subscribed for a year And had written reviews each month, they sent me a wonderful wool throw blanket with a thank you card. I’ve never been disappointed with any product that I received, but I read between the lines on the profile and filled it out accordingly.

Signed up via the giltcity offer and was not happy at all with what I got. I received a Body Cream for severe dry skin…not sure why. When I filled out the questionnaire I never mentioned I had dry skin. Now stuck with a cream I won’t use.

Got my first beauty DNA in the mail today. Very pleased. I got the Paula’s Choice 1% retinol booster with a retail of $50. I was literally on the dermstore website last night going to order this. Considering I got this sub for less than $12 for 2 months I’m very happy. I would’ve gladly paid the $25 a month!!!

This month I received the Hydroxatone 90 Second Wrinkle Reducer.

At first I thought it was just a moisturizer (despite its small size), so I gave it to my mom right away, but when I read the insert and realized it was an eye serum, I felt so bad, but I had to take it back! Eye serums are my Jam!! I made up for it by her a few things from my Beauty Fix box that I also received today. Of course, she had to give me a hard time by giving me the “mom” look while saying, “Are you sure???? These won’t be ripped from my hands in 10 seconds?” 😀

I got the same product nine months ago and this really works, you won’t be sorry you took it back ?

I got the cinnamon vanilla scrub this month and I have mixed feelings. In the jar it smells AMAZING. Like, I want to eat it. And after I get out of the shower that’s how my skin smells. However, in the shower while I’m using it? I have no explanation, but it smells exactly like dog food. So weird.

I just joined with the Gilt deal and I’m excited that they asked a lot of good questions that seem to indicate they understand my rosacea sensitive skin concerns. I hope the match is good! I’ve gotten used to the other sub boxes that don’t really follow the surveys so this will be refreshing if it’s a good match.

I got the same scrub and like you I would have preferred a different scent however I did appreciate it was made of real coconut and had a real coconut scent instead of the fake coconut they use in a lot of products. I am a HUGE fan of KORA since beautydna introduced me. The lip balm is great and the face cleanser is amazing!
