This month's theme was Crunch Cravings!
POPCrinkles Popped Potato Crinkles Sweet BBQ - $0.60
I really loved these chips. The BBQ flavor was really sweet though - if you're not in to that, beware of these. The balance of sweet and salty for me was awesome though.
Pepe's Popcorn Dulce Caliente - $1.00?
This was not my favorite but several of my friends enjoyed it. It's basically kettle corn with a bit of heat to it.
Nang Luong 99 Rice Roll Taro Flavor - $0.50
I didn't like this. It's a whole grain rice roll from what I can tell, with taro powder. Something Snacks listed the ingredients for this one on the card, since the package is in Vietnamese. It has sugar and soy sauce listed...a little weird to me!
Gilliam Old Fashioned Root Beer Sanded Drops - $1.19
You'll definitely like these if you're a fan of root beer, or the root beer barrel candies that always seemed to be around as a kid. They're perfectly sweet, with that strong root beer flavor.
Big Hunk Chewy Nougat with Roasted Peanuts - $1.00
If you live in the States, there's a high probability that you've seen or tried these in the past. This is a nougat bar with roasted peanuts. It's definitely a cult classic but I've never enjoyed them!
Tsubuarare Peanut Baked Rice Cracker
This also has ingredients listed, since the packaging is not in english. The flavor of peanuts comes through somewhat strong here but the cracker is very salty. I don't think I would eat these regularly.
Jack n Jill Cloud 9 Crunchy Cereal Chocolate Snack Bar w/Nuts
This was really good. It was crunchy, a bit salty, and sweet all at the same time, which is my favorite!
Verdict: Something Snacks is a fun box to get each month to try out new, unique snacks. I do have to say that the value is usually on the low side, but they do send out different snacks than many of the other unique food boxes out there. I can't say that I've ever had a crossover between something I've received in this box and my MunchPak. They source products that you won't be able to find many places, which is why I'm not giving a value judgement for this box this month. I can't find many of the exact items online with pricing. With that said, if you like trying different snacks and want a low investment box, I would recommend Something Snacks!
