Candy Club now offers subscribers the ability to customize their boxes!

I think this is a fantastic new option, and I jumped at the chance to pick my candies this month!

I signed up for the “Custom Box” on the Candy Club website, which allowed me to select my three main candies for the month. (FYI- I was able to choose three out of the four candies I received in my box. The three candies I selected were sent in Candy Club’s signature plastic and tin containers. The loose, individually-wrapped candies were still a surprise.)

I was able to choose from 33 different options.

For subscribers who prefer a surprise every month, Candy Club also offers a “Curated Box.” The “Curated Box” contains candies based on your personal taste. You can choose whether to receive sweet candy, sour candy, or a mix of both.

I received an envelope that contained an info card for each of the candies in my shipment.

The cards provide information about the month’s candies.

They also provide nutritional details.

Double Bubble Oh’ Baby Pacifier Candy

This is a candy that I received in one of my very first Candy Club boxes, and I’ve been thinking about it ever since! The texture and flavor of these pacifiers reminds me of Sweet Tarts, but with one significant difference. The “handle” side of the pacifiers is really solid and crunchy, but the “sucker” side is softer with a more powdery texture. It’s a slight difference, but the different textures somehow make these really fun to eat! I also love that they’re really tiny— a small handful easily satisfies a candy craving without making me feel too guilty.

Dorval Sour Power Wild Cherry Belts

Sour belts are my husband’s all-time favorite candy, so I had to include some in our first custom box! For this box, I went with classic cherry, but Candy Club offers a few different flavors: quattro, wild cherry, and blue raspberry. I think we’ll have to try the Blue Raspberry next!

Albanese Gummi Peach Rings

I typically prefer sour candy over sweet, but I’ve always had a soft spot for Peach Rings. They’re delightfully chewy, and I just can’t resist the flavor. I think I maybe also picked this candy because I’m getting really excited for peach season. (Maybe it’s silly, but I love eating candy that’s seasonally appropriate!)

Sweet’s State Fair Mix Salt Water Taffy

Candy Club usually does a great job protecting their boxes from the summer heat (as I mentioned previously, they always use heat resistant packaging in the summertime), but some of the taffy in this shipment melted a little en route to me. I really only had to throw away 3 or 4 taffies, but the inside of the box was a little sticky. Maybe taffy isn’t the best candy to send in the summer?

Verdict: I really enjoy my monthly shipment of candy from Candy Club, and I’m so excited that they now offer customization! I had a lot of fun picking out my candy this month! In terms of value, Candy Club says that each box will have a retail value of $60. You can certainly pay that much for candy at high-end candy stores (like Sugarfina and Dylan’s Candy Bar), but I think it’s important to point out that nearly all of the candy in this month’s box is available for much less if you buy it in bulk online. Still, even though this subscription doesn’t offer superb value for money, I think it’s a lot of fun.

  1. Love that Sweet’s taffy! I’m excited by the option to choose my candy selection. Do I need to go into my account and change my settings to get that choice?

  2. Bummer about the taffy! I do like the flavor curation there, though — it’s a cute theme, & red licorice flavor taffy is my favorite!

  3. Now that they offer custom choices, I’ll likely resubscribe. At least I know I’ll get 3 candies that I like. Before I felt like I was wasting money, especially when I only got 1 item I liked.
