Cairn is a subscription service that delivers outdoor gear every month. They bill their service as "Your Monthly Box of Outdoor Discovery." My family loves to get outdoors as much as possible, and we love discovering new gear!

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

cairn-jun-inside

When I signed up for Cairn, they asked me to do a huge questionnaire for customization purposes. It asked questions about the types of outdoor activities I like, and I chose hiking, camping (car), backpacking, and yoga. They had loads of options, though, like rock climbing, mountain biking, fishing -- just about everything I could think of! They also asked a few lifestyle questions (kids? dogs?) plus basics like t-shirt size.

All this leads me to believe that contents may vary from subscriber to subscriber, so if you subscribe but get different things, please let me know!

This card on the left was included this month from The Dyrt. You can review campgrounds you've been to and win prizes!

Luzon Daypack by Cotopaxi - Value $34.99

I was positively thrilled to see a backpack in this month's package! This one is great, too. It folds out from that little pouch in the first picture, and it's extremely lightweight. It has an 18L interior volume, which is pretty roomy! I like the drawstring top, too.

Rumpl Beer Blanket - Value $7

This is hilarious! I don't tend to think of koozies as something that need to be minimized. I thought at first it was one of those amazing space blankets that you can fold down to fit ten of them in your pocket, but no, it's a beer insulator. Very cute.

Mountain House Cheesecake Bites - Value $3.49

I haven't tried these yet because of the sugar, of course, but I looked at the ingredients, and for emergency trail food this looks pretty good. I guess it will be nice to have something different on the trail now and again!

cairn-jun-coupons

Usually we get an envelope from Cairn with lots of coupons in it, but this month all the promo codes are printed on the back of this card. That's so much more handy and eco-friendly! There's a 15% off coupon from Cotopaxi, 20% off Rumpl, 30% off Mountain House, 25% off Grass Racks, and 15% off Rinse Kit! Score!

By the way, if you read my review last month... We ate the cricket bar and it was delicious! No worries, no one got legs between their teeth!

Verdict: We love our Cairn subscription! We have discovered so many new and useful products for our camping and hiking adventures through Cairn. Everything this month is great, and I think we will use it all. The value of everything this month totals about $45, which is great for a $25 box!

Thank you so much for posting the contents of all your Cairn surprises! Most reviews just give a small photo of the unboxing. I will be gifting the Cairn Box for an upcoming wedding. Anna, if you have a referral code I would be happy to use it and give you more points on the Cairn site, as your reviews made the difference in my deciding to give the box. Best of luck on your July boxes! 🙂

I redeemed my code from Cotopaxi for the free water bottle. It is normally $24.95, but when you register your Cotopaxi day pack on their site (there is a tag attached to the day pack that tells you what to do) it is free–you just pay $4.95 shipping. The water bottle is a 500ml steel bottle that comes in a variety of colors. I picked light blue. My new day pack and beer blanket are going with me on my camping trip tomorrow. I bought the June box after I saw that the Cotopaxi pack was in it. Very pleased, and for $25 this box was a steal!

I haven’t received mine yet so I haven’t seen for myself. But I’ve heard if you go online to Cotopaxi and register your bag they will give you a coupon for a free water bottle as well!
