The Terrace Club Subscription Box Review Summer 2016 - box

The Terrace Club is a box dedicated to soccer fans. Each quarter is themed around the happenings in the soccer world and filled with items that reflect that event.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Cost: $75/Quarter

The Terrace Club Subscription Box Review Summer 2016 - all items

This box didn't come with an info card or any further information on each item. This box was themed around Copa America and Team USA.

The Terrace Club Subscription Box Review Summer 2016 - shirt

Bumpy Pitch FC Shirt - Value $30

This was my favorite item in the box. This shirt is themed after the 1994 Team USA kit:

It has all the stars to match! This was one of the few times that Team USA made it out of the group stages of the world cup - so it holds a place in the hearts of US National Team fans.

The Terrace Club Subscription Box Review Summer 2016 - American Outlaws scarf

American Outlaws Supporters Scarf - Value $15-20?

The American Outlaws are the Team USA supporters group and this is one of their scarfs. If you're unfamiliar with the sports and fandom, scarfs are widely worn by supporters and held above your head to show support from the stands. I almost felt obligated to explain that since no major sport that's popular in the US does that!

The Terrace Club Subscription Box Review Summer 2016 - laces

SR4U Laces - Value $6.99

These are 100% polyester soccer shoe replacement laces. These are also style after team USA.

The Terrace Club Subscription Box Review Summer 2016 - Copa coffee

Three 25 Coffe: Copa Blend - $2.50 (based on 10oz bag)

They include a Copa blend to get you ready for Copa America just around the corner.

The Terrace Club Subscription Box Review Summer 2016 - mugs

Soccer Everything Espresso Mug(s) - Value $10-15?

They included two (one of mine came shattered) little espresso mugs (I'm guessing). These were bubbled wrapped, but one slipped out in shipping.

The Terrace Club Subscription Box Review Summer 2016 - socks in package

Sock Smith USA Socks - Value $10

Next up are these American Flag branded socks from Sock Smith. I really like the quality of these socks - and since subscription boxes have got me into collecting graphic socks - these were a win!

Here's a look at each sock - they're not matching, instead, you get stars and stripes.

The Terrace Club Subscription Box Review Summer 2016 - 100 pin

100 Pin - Value $12

Can anyone tell me what this has to do with Copa America or Team USA? I very interested!

The Terrace Club Subscription Box Review Summer 2016 - soccer picture

Soccer Motivational Print - Value $10?

This was the biggest miss of the box for me. I'm definitely not the demographic for this type of print about soccer.

The Terrace Club Subscription Box Review Summer 2016 - sticker and free month

To finish it off, it came with a free month of MLS Live and a sticker.

Verdict: Liz surprised me with this box because I'm a Liverpool FC supporter, but this missed the mark, and I mean it skyed the free kick. I don't closely follow the US Men's or Women's Teams, MLS, or most North American soccer - I mainly follow European soccer - so the theme was strike one for me. Luckily, you can see the theme of the quarter before subscribing, so you'll want to make sure it's in your wheelhouse. $75 was a steep cost, and while the values of the items add up to over the cost of the box, it still felt like it was missing a hero item. I've always wanted a good soccer or hockey box, but I feel like it has to be team specific to really hold value to the subscriber, and that's where this falls short for me.

What did you think of The Terrace Box's Summer box?

I received the Terrace Club box recently as a one time purchase. It had a shirt and a boot bag for $75! No information on the pieces-not even worth the $75. What an incredible rip-off. Definitely not ordering this ongoing.

The retail value of the terrace club co box items may roughly equate to the cost. However, half of this stuff I would not choose to buy separately. As a result, it is not worth the value and people should shy away from this company.

I bought it since I’m going to one of the US matches in the tourney and am an American Outlaws member. The shirt was a bestseller by that company and was sold out, only available in this box, so that was an attraction. I think the scarf was an exclusive too. The shirt and socks are going to be worn to the match for sure.

They gave AO members a discount on this box so it was a better value for me perhaps. It was also the first one they’ve done so I’m sure feedback will influence later ones.

I agree with your verdict 100%. My husband follows European football and this would be a HUGE miss for him. But,as you stated, there was no star or “hero” item to give a wow factor for a box with a higher price point. Thanks for the review

I think this is what the 100 refers to:

“The Copa América Centenario is a scheduled international men’s association football tournament due to be held in the United States in [June 3-26] 2016. The competition is a celebration of the centenary of CONMEBOL [South American football confederation] and the Copa América, and is to be the first Copa América hosted outside of South America.”…]

It’s the 100 year anniversary of Copa America, that’s what the pin is for. ‘Copa America Cenetenario’
