If you aren’t familiar with Golden Tote, here’s a really quick intro: Every month you get to pick out 1-2 pieces, and they surprise you with the rest. (The surprise items are completely different from the pieces you pick from).

Also, they send your items in a differently designed tote every month! This month’s is a really cute cactus design, but since I got 2 totes they sent me one cactus design (my $149 tote) and one previous design. That’s fine with me – these birds are cute!

Golden Tote has also UPDATED their return policy! It used to be an all-or-nothing deal, but they just made it so it is easy and streamlined to return individual items!

Here’s what the new return system looks like. First, you go to your order history and click the “Return tote” link. It’ll look like this at first.

Click “return” on a specific item and it’ll automatically default to this, indicating you’d like to return everything – but you can also see what each item would cost to keep here.

In Full Swing Tee – value: $40

(95% rayon, 5% spandex; dry clean only)

This tee was also one of my chosen items for my $149 tote, but in a different design. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about this print but it turns out I really like it! I think it’s unique and super comfortable.

Nu Striped Dress with Keyhole Back – value: $40?

I love this dress! This is so cute. I’m loving this swing dress/looser style lately. Even though I said “no ruffles” in my style profile, this one along the bottom is the perfect touch to this dress.

Here’s a look at the keyhole detail. I love that it’s still bra-friendly.

Verdict: I really loved this $59 Tote (now called the “mini tote”) for me! I really like the tee and I’m so excited about the dress. I know the price went up $10 this month but I still think that $30 a piece isn’t bad for the quality and items I got!

Haley I have to say it’s rare that I like any of the pieces Golden Tote sends out – but you always manage to look great in them regardless. How does one acquire this super power?!?

Eeeee. YOU look great, the clothes, not so much. The top looks cute in stripes but the floral print they sent you converts it to grandma-wear. The ruffle-bottom dress is so completely NOT on trend (flip through any recent fashion magazine) that it looks like it came from a discount bin at Kmart. Even the material of the tote looks super cheap and thin. No thanks to this box – but props to you for styling that dress in the best possible way.

I think it’s concerning that you specifically said no ruffles and they sent you something with ruffles. It’s awesome that you actually like the piece, but I think that makes GT look bad, and as a potential customer, it makes me wary. I would think that after raising the price, they woukd be even a little extra careful about things like that.

Jordan, I totally get it! And I agree – however, I have dealt with their customer service before and my experience was really very positive. I know that, if I didn’t like this piece (or any piece that has something I specifically asked to not get) I’m confident they would send a replacement item quickly and with no trouble at all. This fact definitely plays into my lack of frustration about this issue. =]

Wow, that’s good to know! But it stills seems a little careless that they let it happen in the first place.
