The theme for the upcoming GlobeIn May 2016 Box is… Hydrate!

More from GlobeIn:

We are thrilled to share that we have partnered with Water.org, a nonprofit that pioneers safe water and sanitation solutions around the world for our May Artisan Box.
***

On this blue planet, water is the ultimate elixir. Everything is better that’s hydrated—your body, your mood, your pets, your plants. This month’s kit offers your hydration efforts both practicality and pizazz.

Of course, water is no luxury—it’s a basic human right. So it seemed appropriate to partner up this month with Water.org, an organization working to bring safe water to all 663 million people around the world who currently lack it. This month, your drink is also someone else’s.

And here is the latest spoiler:

Upcycled Tote, Ghana (Retail $15).

Your tote is made by artisans from upcycled plastic bags in which Ghanaians receive their drinking water – keeping the bags off the streets. Both roomy and compact, it will become your go-to tote for going to yoga, beach, or farmers market!

Suggested use: Use as an eco-friendly shopping bag or as a roomy day bag.

And here is the first spoiler in case you missed it:

1) Hand Blown Mexican Glass (Retail $15).

Few art forms will put you in as much awe at earth’s materials and their chemical processes as hand blown glass. What was once a hot and incoherent blob is now your cool and smooth new drinking vessel.

It takes a talented artisan indeed to form molten glass into elegant, coherent shapes. Many such artisans live in the city of Tonala? in the Mexican state of Jalisco, a handicraft hub, especially of pottery and glass.

Dedicated to preserving this artform, Cristaluc was established in 2001 and today employs 40 local artisans. The company provides its artisans a steady income and a supportive and inspiring space to practice their art. The process of making your new glass involved 8 to 14 glassmakers working as team.

Despite its hot and blob-like beginnings, we hope your vessel brings you (or your flowers) some cool, clarifying moments.

Suggested use: Drink out of it, or use as a vase.

Measurements: 5-1/4" height.

At first I was going to pick a different box, since the bag is cool but a different box(w/ all things known) might be better. Then I saw the uber cute animal wine stopper that i’ve been wanting as a sub for the usual basket that’s only available w/ the current box. They’ve sucked me into this month as the glass, stopper and bag are totally worth picking this box. Espcially w/ Mother’s Day(and my Mother’s birthday) coming up so soon!

I had completely forgot about checking to see what the alternative to the basket was this month – and I’ve been in love with that bottle stopper since I saw it a couple months ago. So I just went in and updated my account to get the bottle stopper this month!!
Yay! thanks for the reminder 🙂

Hope you enjoy yours! I wonder what animal(s) they’ll send out!

Lisa

You can’t pick a prior box with the stopper as an option?

Marina

I don’t think you can, I tried it then w/ a different box and the option didn’t show up at all.
Kind of sad though that if u pick a past box you can’t get something instead of the basket, seems odd now that I think of it!

I love the glass but the tote is just not exciting. It did sort of remind me of the shopping bags of my youth. Back home, our milk used to come in plastic bags, not bottles. The bags were made with very strong plastic and poor women started to cut them into thin strips and then knit them into bags and hats. They were very popular for a while, but I think they ultimately went out of vogue, probably because the handles were a bit too uncomfortable to carry (they sort of poked you).

I prefer this style over that one, but I don’t like how short the handles are. I carry my bags from the store to my house, and I want to be able to carry them around my shoulders. I don’t think these handles are long enough for that.

So I cancelled though I’ll try to swap for that glass. Actually, what I really want is to finally go to the GlobeIn store and just buy what I like. It’s amazing how busy our weekends get though, but mother’s day is coming 🙂

Love the bag, & really appreciate how neutral the vase is!

I am definitely jealous of the awesome towel promo!! (I’m glad to have subbed, but wish there had been something cool like that as a bonus when I did!!)

I LOVE their cool totes. The upcycled laundry bag is one of my all-time favorite sub box finds. This one looks really neat in the way it zips down. Looking forward to this box!

I can always use an extra tote, so I like this.

I’m so excited to get this! Not crazy about the tote, but I love the theme and the bud vase/glass. This will be my first box and I used the code for the Turkish towels! Woohoo! 😀

I was thinking about subscribing but I’ll pass. Have too many totes. I bought a set of towels from their site and I think I’ll buy that vase too.

You can always select a different box than the one currently offered (so you could go back and get the January box which is what I did!)

At first I was thinking this was like the bag from the Laundry box, but noticed this you can fold and zip, which I like.

Still haven’t received my April box, but I have a package coming from Georgia, which might be it. The shipper is listed as a fulfillment company. I never heard from Globein about it, so I’m not sure. I know there was a delay on the Spring Clean boxes, but I switched to Rise & Shine.

I have been wanting the laundry bag… What don’t you like about it?

The bag is too big for me and I should have known from the pics. I still like the design though. I like the dryer balls and added lavender oil to them. The soap nuts were a miss for me, they didn’t clean as well as I like.
