The Disney Park Pack – Pin Trading Edition is a monthly subscription box that Disney introduced within the last year. This subscription is only available online. Each monthly pack contains three Disney Pins including a Limited Edition Pin exclusive to the subscription box, as well as two Open Edition Pins before they are available in the theme parks. The Limited Edition pin currently has four variants of a similar design or theme and each of the variants has an edition size of 500.

The box itself is really nicely done. Disney always does a great job with this in their subscription boxes.

My kids started collecting Disney pins a few years ago during visits to Disneyland so we were excited to see what would be featured this month. Disney does not release spoilers for this box.

Fun! Let’s dig in.

disney_park_pack_roz1

First up, we have Roz from Monsters, Inc. Mike Wazowski is always sucking up to Roz, AKA Child Detection Agency Agent #000001, trying not to get into trouble because he is late with his paperwork, etc., and she is ALWAYS WATCHING him and the other monsters. Roz also appears briefly in the prequel, Monsters University.

Here is the back of the pin card. SILVER means that this pin will eventually sell in the theme parks for $8.95. Notice the Mickey icon pin back.

Here is a closer shot so you can see the details.

I like that Disney included the Monsters, Inc. factory building and emblem detail behind Roz.

Here we have the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. The pin says FLIRTING WITH MADNESS. As noted in the Disney Tsum Tsum Subscription Box Review this month, Disney is releasing Alice Through the Looking Glass tomorrow, so it makes sense that there would be an Alice-themed pin this month.

Here is the back of the pin card. YELLOW means that this pin will eventually sell in the theme parks for $12.95. Yay for a high value month!

Here is a closer view. I love this pin! It is one of my favorites that Disney has done in this subscription box! The cat’s head is a separate piece that floats and can spin 360 degrees. This is, of course, based on the movie where the Cheshire Cat can do similar things. It’s MADNESS.

disney_park_pack_cc5

You can see the separate part that is the head. Love this!

Disney specifies that this is the Pin Trading Edition of the Park Pack. May has been a great month for Disney fans because the Disneyland Memorabilia Park Pack Limited Edition Box came out recently as well. If you missed it and are interested, you can see our review of that box here.

Ariel and Ursula from The Little Mermaid is this month’s Limited Edition Pin created exclusively for the subscription box. The Little Mermaid was the first Disney VHS movie we had at my house as a kid so my siblings and I pretty much have it memorized. My oldest daughter had her birthday in this theme 2 years ago. We still love this movie at our house.

Here is the back of the custom backer card. I am not sure why there is a UPC sticker on the back. Maybe so Disney can track this? There is no price associated with the pin because it will not be offered for sale.

disney_park_pack_mermaid3

Here is the back of the pin itself noting the Limited Edition of 500. The little bumps you see on the back of the pin are stabilizers so the pin hangs correctly.

disney_park_pack_mermaid4

disney_park_pack_mermaid5

Closer views of the pin itself. Notice how the shells are raised and silver referencing the movie. Ariel is clasping her neck as Ursula takes her voice in exchange for turning her into a human for 3 days in a desperate attempt to be reunited with her true love. Love the details here!

disney_park_pack_mermaid6

This is a heavy-duty pin. Notice the double layers.

One thing that is fun about pin collecting and trading is that it is something that can be enjoyed by all ages. My family is split on our favorite pin this month. We always love the special features of the Limited Edition pin, but the Cheshire Cat’s spinning head is awesome! We might have to go with a tie.

Value: One of these pins will sell for $8.95 and one for $12.95 in the theme parks eventually. The third pin is a limited edition and not available for sale outside of the subscription box so the price is unknown. This subscription box sells for $39.95, including shipping, so this may not be the box for everyone. However, if you love Disney and/or are a pin collector, I would say this could be a great box for you! Disney easily sells out of this subscription box every month.

disney_park_pack_side

A last look from the side. Notice how the box slants to make viewing the collection easier. Disney thinks of everything.

This subscription box is currently sold out, but make sure to sign up for News Alerts at the bottom of this post to get an email when it is available again!

Verdict: We love the Disney Park Pack at our house and can’t wait to see next month!

What do you think of this box? Do you have a favorite pin? Do you love Disney as much as we do?
