Cuddle Crate is a monthly subscription box for pets. You can opt for a dog box (choose your dog size), a cat box, or a small animal box (select gerbil/hamster or rabbit/guinea pig). You can also combine pet types with higher tier subscriptions (i.e., get a combined cat/rabbit box) and opt for a bi-monthly box if monthly is too often for you. This is a review of the cat option. (FYI, Cuddle Crate used to be known as Pet Pakz and they are currently undergoing a rebranding process.)

Because Cuddle Crate is customizable and you can select different types of animals, there isn’t a traditional information card. If you have a dog or cat combined subscription, your items will be circled on the card. (Small animal items are not listed on the card.)
Kong Active Ball Buddy Birds – Value $4.75
This was pretty popular because of all the feathers. The body part also had a rattle inside but my cats are not as into noisy toys. The sound didn’t scare them, though.
Kong Kitten Teddy Bear – Value $5.87
This is a nice, snuggly toy. And very soft. Of course none of mine are kittens but they seemed to like this anyway.
Red Barn Cat Treats in Grain Free Turkey (2.64 oz) – Value $3.79
Madison was a big fan. He really likes turkey. Don’t know why but after trying a whole bunch of different kinds of meat/fish/poultry with him, turkey is his favorite. Sneaky liked these too.
Kong Tropics Fish Toy (pink) – Value $6.62
The cats were not quite as into this, probably because the bird toy had more feathers. They do like feathers, though, and I have seen this one moving around the bedroom floor so someone is playing with it when I’m not around.
Petstages Energize Orkakat Wiggle Worm – Value $2.79
The cats liked this toy; I think it is infused with catnip or something. The only thing to watch out for is some people on Amazon said their cats ate bits of it and threw up or got blockages. So I am only letting mine play with it when I am around to supervise.

Feathers are always popular. And I think the worm smelled like catnip or something.
Mr. Kitty was going through a transition in eye drops when I took these photos so he wasn’t feeling so great. (The vet ran out of the ones he was using so we tried an alternative that had the same antibacterial effect but seemed to cause some sensitivity. We have since switched back.) But he did feel up to rubbing his chin on the worm.
Verdict: I calculated a value of $23.82 for the May Cuddle Crate for cats box. That is a little bit below the monthly cost of the box, but a good deal if you have signed up for a longer subscription. One thing I am really happy about is that all of the items were new and from current product lines not discontinued by the manufacturers, plus all items were available on Chewy.com (which is a standard retailer and not a closeout store/reseller; I buy cat food from them on a regular basis).
This is good because (1) it is easy to find more of something your pet likes, (2) I feel the treats are fresher so I feel better about feeding them to my cats, and (3) I feel like some actual effort is being put into obtaining the items (as opposed to stuff just being bought in big closeout lots off eBay or something, which happens with a lot of pet subscriptions). I am happy with the rebranding so far. (I do hope as the months go on to see a slight increase in value.)
