Bramble Box Props is making a few changes to this subscription box that I want to mention. As of May 5, 2016, each new subscriber will receive a Welcome Pack in their first box with a sticker book, crayons and glue. There will be a new sticker to collect in each month’s box following Bramble the Fox’s adventures as he explores the world of make believe. Also, Bramble Box Props recently added the option to choose the themes of your first six boxes in advance or you can allow them to pick for you with the Surprise Me option. They plan to offer a quarterly subscription option soon as well.
This month’s theme is Marching Band! (This box came prior to the newly announced changes going into effect.) The inside lid of every Bramble Box has an information card like the one pictured above detailing the items inside.
Here is the first look into the box.
Looks like a lot of fun stuff!
My kids decided to divide and conquer this box!
My 7 year old daughter wanted to work on the drum. My 6 year old son chose the hat. (Fun fact: the proper name for this hat is called a shako. The hat style comes from marching bands that were part of military regiments beginning a couple of centuries ago.)
Here is the inside of the hat showing how the visor stays curved.
My 4 year old daughter chose the Jingle Stick. She colored the Jingle Stick with markers and then wound the bells through the holes in the stick with a silver pipe cleaner.
My daughter decided to use two of the ribbons provided for decoration as a drum strap instead by tying them together and then feeding them through small holes we punched in the sides of the drum. It worked well.
The Ants Go Marching! – Value $4.99
The box came with a themed book this month! This is a really fun book that includes a CD, too.
Here is a sample page.
They were focusing intently!
Verdict: My kids loved this box! They had a lot of fun making everything and are still playing with the items. I believe the thoughtful curation and convenience of having everything together and ready to go more than make this subscription box worth the price.
