The box comes with a card detailing the items included.

birchbox-sun-shine-towel

Turkish-T Birchbox Stripe Breeze Towel in Teal - Value $32

This towel measures approx 36" X 70" and is 100% cotton! I have the same towel thanks to the June 2014 POPSUGAR Must Have Box, and I'm thrilled to have another one! The material is somewhat stiff at first, but one round through the laundry and it comes out super soft!

birchbox-sun-shine-wrap

I think these towels are great for the beach - they are a great size, and they don't take up much space in your bag, either!

birchbox-sun-shine-sunglasses

Knockaround Mai Tais Sunglasses in Clear/Green Moonshine - Value $20

I have a pair of Knockaround sunglasses thanks to last year's Birchbox Summer Limited Edition box, and I love them so I'm happy to have more. Mirrored lenses are my favorite when it comes to sunglasses, and the clear frames are a new look for me!

birchbox-sun-shine-milk

Milk Makeup Blush Oil in Flush - Value $28

(Customers will receive, Flush, Crave, or Ripe.)

I love a cheek tint product I can apply directly to my face, and this packaging is really perfect for hot summer weather. (No worrying about a cheek tint stick melting in your purse!) The color is pretty neon in the tube, but it was easy to blend out and the end result was a natural looking blush. (Swatched below.)

birchbox-sun-shine-cargo

Cargo California Throwback Palette - Value $34?

This product isn't for sale anymore from Cargo's website, so I'm estimating the value based on their other palettes. I'm guessing this is either older stock or reintroduced for the Limited Edition box. It's a great palette, so I'm not complaining, but if you like it - this seems to be the only way to buy it.

Here are all the pieces of the palette:

birchbox-sun-shine-palette

The magnetic design of this palette is awesome. Here it is in action:

5SecondsApp (2)

I like this because you can remove any part of the palette you might not want. For me, it's the lip gloss section. Unlike some other palettes I've tried over the years, the lip gloss pans are not solid - but pretty goopy. I prefer this type of lip gloss formula in a tube, so I probably won't use it often. The colors, shimmer, and shine are great, though - I just don't think they make sense in pan form.

The pigment is great on all the colors as  well. The eyeshadows offer two shimmer and two matte shades, and the blush and bronzer have a nice subtle shimmer with buildable color. Here is everything swatched (Milk cheek tint at the top, followed by blush and bronzer, eyeshadows, and lip glosses):

birchbox-sun-shine-supergoop

Supergoop! Everyday SPF 50 with Cellular Response Technology - 1 oz Value $8

This sunscreen is oil-free, and it absorbs so quickly. I love it! I wish the sample was a little larger, but this is good for travel.

Kopari Coconut Body Glow – .5 oz Value $6

I had seen this in the Birchbox shop and wanted to try it, so I'm glad I got to sample it through this box instead of buying it in the full-size version. The subtle coconut scent is lovely, and I like the ingredient-conscious formula. BUT! The sparkles are pretty noticeable! I would say this is great for the beach, but for me, it's a little too much of a look for everyday wear. And right now my hands are super shimmery after applying it!

birchbox-sun-shine-living-proof

Davines This Is a Sea Salt Spray - 100 ml Value $10.80

This is probably the best sea salt spray I've ever tried. The scent is amazing and I like that you can use it on dry or wet hair.

Living proof. No Frizz Humidity Shield – Travel-size Value $14

Someone get this to Monica Geller stat!

Screen Shot 2016-05-11 at 4.35.37 PM

I don't have any humid weather to test this with right now, but like all Living Proof products, it smells amazing, and based on the reviews I've seen, works great, too!

birchbox-sun-shine-bag

Birchbox Summer Pouch - Value $8?

This is a great basic, and the neon color is fun for summer. Not something I would go out and buy, but it is useful!

And here is my free mystery sample pack

birchbox-sun-shine-samples

I lucked out on that LAFCO soap sample!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $160. I think that's good for a $58 box. I'll use every item besides the Coconut Body Glow, and I think all the items included are great hot-weather picks!

I have 10 in points, I am SO tempted to get this! None of the coupons worked for me (I probably used them all at this point) but 48 for the box, 2 mystery samples, and the face mitt promo is not bad at ALL and I’m dying to try the coconut glow. HMMMMMM

Katrina

I’m confused (new to birch box) is there a way to get a gift with purchase AND the 2 mystery samples?

Reply ButtonReply

Randi

Yes, just add the mystery sample pack (it’ll show up as $10 in your cart but then $10 is taken off) and then add your gift with purchase. The mystery sample pack doesn’t need a promo code so it works.
I added the mystery sample pack to my order which brought my total to $68 so then I added the necklace gwp to my order. I just used the baggu one last week.

And you can always do the men’s mystery sample pack too since sometimes the women’s is sold out.

Kat

I used points and did the Baggu because I always need another!
Birchbox’s summer box was great for me last year – I used everything. Not to sound like a Birchbox rep (I don’t even sub anymore) BUT in my opinion it’s a great kick off the summer “you need these things and now you won’t have to go to the store” kind of box. Like I can basically just put it all in that Baggu bag and have a ready to go summer bag.

I got my box today and I thought the sunscreen was supposed to full-size. I called them today and asked them about it, and they said it was supposed to be the full-size 2.4 fl oz. They said they would send me one out. You should contact customer service!

Reply ButtonReply

Sarah

Similarly, the Davines Sea Salt Spray was also not listed as travel size or as a deluxe sample. The full size is 250 ml as opposed to the 100 ml that was sent out.

Reply ButtonReply

DC

I got an email back from a different customer service representative than I spoke with the first time and she said the sunscreen was supposed to be 1 fl oz. So I am thinking that maybe the Davines product is only supposed to be 100 ml. I am not sure. I think they need to say exactly was size we are supposed to get in the description so there is no confusion.

DC

I noticed that too. Initially I was confused if the sunscreen was supposed to be full-size or not, and that it why I contacted their customer service. When they said that it was supposed to be full-size, I didn’t think anything of it until it was brought to my attention on here that the website pictures showed that the sunscreen was 1 fl oz. After that I looked at the Davines Sea Salt Spray and noticed that it was 100 ml. I then looked at the picture for it on the box and it shows that it is 100 ml. I don’t know what happened. Perhaps they were all supposed to be smaller sizes but they should have stated it on the website if they were travel or deluxe sizes. Maybe they were supposed to be full-size? I am not sure anymore. I contacted customer service again but they have not gotten back with me yet.

Heather

Where do you see that it is supposed to be the full-size? Just curious. It’s not listed as full-sized on the site.

Reply ButtonReply

DC

When it is not listed as either a deluxe size, sample size, or travel size, I usually assume it will be full-size. That is why I was confused as to why I got a 1 fl. oz. instead of the 2.4 fl. oz. sunscreen. I then contacted customer service. They said it was supposed to be the full-size 2.4 fl oz. I hope that answers your question.

Heather

I was going to pass on this box but after the review, I realized how many of the items I would use!
I used my $40 in points, added the mystery sample pack AND am getting a Baggu bag with the promo code!! All for $18! ?

Liz Cadman

Yay! ? I LOVE Baggus! 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Katie

I’m trying to decide if this is worth using my $20 in points on…any thoughts?

Reply ButtonReply

Ann

That’s the amount I had and used. None of the coupons worked, so I got the baggu and free mystery sample. I figured I’d at least get the points back, and I just wanted it! LOL

Ashley T Odabashian

I don’t know… this box has kind of a cheap feel to me. I want everything in it except the hair products since I don’t really use any and the plastic pouch which I wish was different it seems kind of tacky looking. It would be nice if it was like $10-$15 less

Reply ButtonReply

Jen

Oh, I’m glad to see that those sunglasses can be purchased separately. I actually need a new pair, and I loved the look of them, but the rest of this box didn’t really speak to me. If they’re not offered as a June add-on, I might go ahead and snag a pair.

Reply ButtonReply

Julie

I wish these codes would work. It would be nice to save few dollars. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Reply ButtonReply

Rena

Did you like the scent of the Camille Beckman? I really wanted to like it because the butterfly on the jar was so cute, but it smelled like play doh.

Reply ButtonReply

Constance

Oh darn it! I was doing just fine resisting this but now I definitely have to get it after seeing the reviews.

Reply ButtonReply

Ann

LOL, yep, I just finished ordering after being a good girl when it first came out. I don’t even know why I bother resisting anymore. Please order and be bad with me. I hate being alone in this! 😀

Reply ButtonReply

cheryl

Ann, tat cracked me up “why do I bother resisting” .. What to do. I wish there were make up items and not so many hair products, but i think it is a great deal. Going to see how I can make this work with my points.

suzi

I want those sunnies so much. I love clear frames.

Reply ButtonReply

Randi

Can’t wait to get mine! I ordered as soon as you posted that it was available bc I knew I’d have to have it after your review… and sure enough I’m more excited for it now than before

Reply ButtonReply

Ann

I was soooo good resisting the temptation to buy this, but then you just had to go and review it. Now I want it…bad. I have a serious sub box problem, and is it alright if I blame you? 😀

Reply ButtonReply

Sara

Ugh the towel and the sunglasses make this super hard to resist for me. The last LE box I got, the oil spilled out and covered everything. Then I had an allergic reaction to the Smith and Cult lipgloss, and I’ve never had a reaction like that before. I’m still trying to resist the cat lady box, it’s getting harder and harder.
