BarkBox is a monthly subscription box for dogs. It’s one of our favorite subscription boxes – our dog loves it, and we’ve gifted it to dogs in our extended family as well!
BarkBox customizes your box to your dog’s size. For reference, this review is for the small size (our dog weighs 14 pounds). Check out Ragan's review of last month's box for large dogs!
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Each month comes with an info card that shows the featured item of the month and talks about the theme. This month's theme was "Country Fair".
We felt it was only right to let Buckles do his review of BarkBox outside since we finally got some warm weather! He made sure to thoroughly check that all items were accounted for before review.
Slobbery Sunflowers - Value $12
Let's start with the toys. We received two plush toys this month, which is Buckles' preference - so that was already a big plus in our book. The first toy is this little bouquet of flowers. This is actually 4 separate toys - all four flower stems are separate, and although they didn't have a squeaker in the flower, it was that crinkly material.
Always ready for toy testing!
While he was super determined to understand what these toys were, he was over them rather quickly - I think these will end up being gifted to a dog that doesn't require a squeaker in every toy.
Makin' Loopie Pie - Value $12
Ok - as expected, this one is a massive favorite. Three individual berries come out of the pie for your pup to play with, each with a squeaker.
He went right for the "filling" - he knew exactly what needed to be done!
He absolutely LOVES the little berries! He's running around with them downstairs as I write this!
Little Piggies Bacon Apple Treats - Value $6
The first treat is a cookie like bacon/apple treat. They're hard and crunchy - and surprisingly he loves these! He's very fickle about hard treats...
Perfect form! How cute is that tiny paw!?
After inspecting a bit, he gobbled it up. But, this would be his third favorite treat of the three in this month's box.
Look Who's Happy Tempt'n Tenders - Value $10
The favorite item this month were these chicken jerky tenders!
This is like a model pose! Don't let him fool you, he was only still for a moment before trying to get these treats.
We've received so many treats from BarkBox that we have to keep stocked up on - he's becoming very accustomed to monthly mystery treats.
Beef Jerky Stick - Value $4
These are a little harder of a treat, more like a softer chew.
I had a tough time opening the package for this one. He was not amused AT ALL.
These were pretty large for a small dog. Luckily, they weren't hard to break down into smaller pieces for him - and of course, he loves them.
Verdict: Another home run month for BarkBox - Buckles loves and will eat/play with everything included - that's about all I can ask for. The items add up to $44 this month, which is higher than usual - so that was great as well. The past 3-4 months have all been catered well to our dog, so we're hoping that roll continues (Buckles also has continued high hopes).
In the end, it's all about a happy puppy, and he loves "doing reviews"!
