The packaging on this box is really top notch - I love the wood-look box! Their website has other month's box contents, and it looks like the value is recently consistently over $70.00. If you're curious about the contents of previous month's boxes, I would recommend taking a peek at the slider on the bottom of their website.
One thing to note, and I'm assuming it is because I received a review box, is that I didn't get the monthly edition of GQ that is usually included. So that is an additional value that you won't see in my review.
The Gentleman's Box includes a small glossy pamphlet with all of the items you receive in the box detailed, as well as a profile of a featured member. This month the theme is "Our Favorite Superhero"
Wolf Clothing Co. Laven Socks - $14.00
My husband is ammassing quite a collection of subscription box socks! (No complaints here - just means less we have to purchase!). These are a royal blue/purple color with bubblegum pink accents. They feel very stretchy and comfortable on. The toe seam is pretty thin as well, so if a thick seam on your toes bugs you (like it does me), these might be a good option for you.
Knot Society Navy Polka Dot Tie - $49.00
This tie was valued in the booklet at $30.00, but the website says $49.00 - I decided to go with the advertised value on the website. This is an exclusive Gentleman's Box tie, and I really like it. The navy is a perfectly dark navy (no royal blue masquerading as navy here) and the polka dots are stark white. This is a perfect tie for spring and summer! It is also quite long. I think this would look best with a schoolboy knot!
The Fashion Anchor - $6.00
These are a very interesting concept! They're disposable collar stays, which I can see having a benefit when trying to go through TSA checkpoints, courthouse security, etc. What I don't understand is how they work the same, but I have zero experience with any sort of collar stay! I'm going to give them to my hubby to use, and see how they work out for him. Here is a video on how to use them, and also how to use them to keep your shirt closed if you want to have it unbuttoned. They sort of seem like fashion tape, but for men!
The booklet listed these at $15.00, but the 12 pack is selling for $6.00 on the Fashion Anchor website, and the package I received actually had a $6.00 price tag listed, so that's the value I went with!
Gentleman's Box Eye Glass Tie Clip - $20.00
This is an exclusive item for the box. It came in a really nice, black satin padded box, and it is really cool looking. This definitely would add character to any suit and tie combination. I can see this being a fun accessory for a wedding!
Frey Detergent for Men - $6.00
I had no idea this was a thing, but I like it! This detergent smells so good, I want to wash everything I own in it. It's oak and musk scented - if you're a fan of the smell of men's cologne, you should definitely check this detergent out.
Frey actually offers a subscription service too, which is awesome! The price looks to be pretty similar to what I pay for detergent anyway - if it wasn't so weird I might just switch to this completely, and enjoy smelling like a man.
Verdict: This box has a value of about $95.00, taking into account the changes in price from the brochure, which lists the value at $85.00. Either way, it's a great value for the $25.00 price to be sure. This is one of the best men's accessory boxes out there in my opinion. They send a nice variety of items, and you don't necessarily have to work in a formal environment to use all of them. My favorite discovery of the box was definitely the laundry detergent, which I realize might seem weird - but I embrace the weirdness!
