  1. I did the presale last year but not this time. It was nice to get the boxes automatically but I cannot justify paying the extra funds this year. I do intend to buy the boxes because I do enjoy the products. This box is not as appealing as previous ones, but it is still a good bargain for me.

  2. What is the benefit of buying all 3 boxes in advance for $199? That is $20 more than what it would be to get them each when they come out.

    • Guaranteed that you get them that way. Usually they sell out in MINUTES! But this last one didn’t. It was totally a fluke that the box didn’t have the normal appeal but I got this box and loved it. I buy all three ahead of time so I am guaranteed and I have never been disappointed. ?

  3. When do these ship?

  4. I am excited only about the Spinbrush and the micellar wipes. Many of these products aren’t really useful for my darker skintone and curly hair, IMO… But, now I don’t have box FOMO and $60/$200 will be spent recklessly on other items =D

  5. I got the pre-sale because I’ve not been able to get ahold of one for years. I miss having a stockpile. Definitely will give unused items to my neighbors here in Houston. 🙂

  6. hmmmmm sooooooo torn about this one. While there isn’t anything super exciting the value seems really good for some basic stock up items…..guess i will see how I feel on Tuesday.

    • Yeah, not quite enough for me to justify spending $60. The items I really want in there wouldn’t add up to that. I bet it will appeal to a lot of other people, though, so I won’t steal one away 😉

  7. I would only end up using 10 items or less. I’d rather use that $60 and spend it at Sephora on something(s) I love.

  8. I’m actually okay with what is in the box, although the product count does seem to be getting lower and lower with each box. Here’s my thought about this box – the next one won’t be out until the end of August so many of these items, I can put up to take with me on vacation. That keeps me from scrambling around at the last minute trying to get things for the trip! My only complaint is that some of the past boxes have had 2 or 3 body washes in it at a time and this only has 1 🙁 it’s just always been nice to build my bodywash stock with these boxes but I’ll live!

    • I also feel like this has less in it than past boxes have. If you use enough of it, it’s still a good value, though.

  9. pre ordered. The box will be distributed between 6 people ( from 19 to 80) and anything left over will be sent to the local shelter. I don’t have much of a stock pile, other than bark box and walmart, I don’t have any subscription right now. The only thing I don’t need is facial cleanser and shampoo/conditioner so this works just fine for me. Note I’m not including my cosmetics.Excited.

  10. UGG. Cant say I am happy about this box, but just hope it gets better. Maybe its the summer like box. I REALLY hoped the box would be like the last box! But I did the 3 box sub…fingers crossed!

  11. Happy about this box… I never got one before so I don’t have a stockpile yet.

  12. Easy box to pass on. What a bore. Too many hair care products (again) & Scunci hair elastics & Chapstick just dont grab me.

    • Haha, the Scunci elastics are one of the 3 (!) things I would’ve used if I’d gotten this box.

    • Same. Probably the most boring box of all yet. No high end items, I was NO on the first 10, then stopped even deciding because there goes the value for me. $60 I can spend easily on other sites.

  13. Too many hair products. I’m still working my way through the huge stash I’ve accumulated, and my friends and family have very specific tastes.Maybe next time.

  14. I enjoyed the last 3 Beauty Thrills boxes, but this one doesn’t have enough value for me. There are only a few products that I would use, and their value doesn’t added up to $60+tax. On the plus side, it should be easier for other people to get this box.

    • I replied to someone’s later comment, basically saying the same thing! There aren’t enough things I want that add up to at least $60 and therefore that justify buying it and then either using or giving away the rest. More boxes for those who find it a better value!

  15. Really glad I held off on the pre-order. I’m absolutely sure I’m going to skip this box. There are only a few items out of all of that I need or would use. I loved my December box, but I’ll hold off until the August box.

  16. I’m glad I held off on the pre order. Although I know the value is there as about 2 of the items alone pay for the box only a couple of items I would have used. This one seems underwhelming compared to past ones I looked up. Bummer, just learned about this from Liz posting the presale and was planning on ordering but thankful I held off. Hopefully the next one will catch my needs.

  17. I ordered mine and I’m so excited. This first box is probably my all-time favorite. A lot of the products we normally use anyway. There is a couple of new to me products that I can’t wait to try. So exciting!

  18. I always look to get this box to fulfill my shampoo/conditioner, shaving, deodorant, toothbrushing needs…unfortunately this box isn’t doing it for me 🙁 I always want to make sure that the cost of this box is covered by things I WOULD NORMALLY BUY (shampoo, etc) – not things I WOULD USE… These are two very different things! Just because I would use it, doesn’t mean I need it/would buy it ever. Sigh… Maybe August will be more useful. This is one box I don’t even get excited about, I just view it as practical. But this season, it’s not even that for me.

    • Yep, that’s exactly what I do. I’m disappointed that they don’t have any shampoo/conditioner and only one shower gel.

  19. I’m honestly really excited! I bought yesterday wondering if I’d regret it, but I’ll use almost every single item, so essentially this saves me a drugstore trip for the next few months. I understand that it’s lacking some higher-end products, but they’re all still usable, and I’m new to Beauty Thrills so it’s not like I have a stack of the same products. What I don’t use, I can easily gift (like that tangle thing would be great for the mother of my 3yo. goddaughter…) and I was even thinking this week that I should switch to a power toothbrush. Makes me feel loads better.

    • AND the clutch! Perfect to replace my goofy one from college.

  20. I’m excited, sort of. The one item that I would probably never buy but would like to try is the Rituals body cream. By contrast, I’m wearing one of those Scunci everyday bands right now. (LOL/TMI – Is it bad that I’m kinda excited about the Completely Bare item?) I’ve gotten the chapstick and the tangle teezer in Allure BB, but I have a daughter, so seconds of these items wouldn’t hurt.

I guess it’s not a bad box, just not overly thrilling as I’d hoped. Still, it does appear to be a really good value. (The first 4 or 5 items listed pay for the box & shipping.) Yes, decisions will be made by 4/26, 12:00:59pm, right after I hit refresh. 🙂

  21. Yay!!! So glad that I don’t need or want any of this. The thrill is gone and my wallet couldn’t be happier. Hopefully the August box will be better and my stash will decline to a point where I actually need a bunch of full size products. Also, really hoping they include a razor. More boxes should include those.

    • This is how I feel. The only thing that really got me excited it the Tangle Teezer and that’s way less than $60 lol.

  22. I have never ordered one of these. Are the products generally sample-sized, or deluxe samples, or some full sizes?

    • They are all full size items.

    • Everything should be full-size! 🙂

  23. On the fence. Not as exciting as other boxes and I agree with another poster about the Hask oil, do they need to be in every box? I did add up everything I would use and the price is over the cost of the box. Guess I will decide by 4/25.

  24. I’m justifying my purchase of all three boxes in advance by reminding myself that with the value listed of this box being over $250 it means that part of this box and all of the remaining two boxes are fee.

    • *free

  25. I’m so glad I ordered. I’m very excited

  26. I prefer the deluxe sized items in the monthly beauty box. Helps me manage product overload and allows me to try tons of beauty items that are new to me. I think I’ll just stay with the monthly Allure box.

  27. Sigh…nothing too exciting but will be used (did the pre-order).

Those blister block cushions work really well.

I have two young daughters so the Tangle Teaser is a must (added to the one from the Allure box I now have 3!).

I feel like I have that Hask hair oil in my stash from BB maybe?

Apparently I also need to bathe more. I just cannot use body wash fast enough!

I’m pretty much off boxes now though. I have to finish up my annual BB but I’m not getting any new beauty boxes (well, except the 2 additional Beauty Thrills that I’ve already paid for!!!!).

  28. There are many items in thus this box that i would really like, but i dont think rhe items i would use justifys the price. I will prob try to swap for the few things i do want

  29. I like the products well enough but am underwhelmed with the quantity of items. A few years ago, it would have 30 plus items. Now it has 22. ?

    • Now that you mention it, the list does look shorter than previous years! Well, that’s depressing. lol

  30. I have so been looking forward to this box but now I just don’t think it’s going to be for me. I don’t need a high end item to make it worth it for me. I look at it as a nice box of basics + a few extras for a good price and a few dollars for a good cause.

But another Hask oil?? Those were in the last 2 boxes. I’m still on my first one! Ok this is not coconut but it doesn’t seem to that different of a product. Actually, I still have several hair products from the November box I haven’t used yet.

I don’t know…it’s a good box for summer with the hair elastics, blister cushions, and various sun protection products. And I have been curious about the Aveeno Serum.

    Decisions, decisions…

  31. Will there still be a regular $15 Allure beauty box? Or is this taking place of that?

    • This is a separate, quarterly box. It does not affect the monthly box. 🙂

  32. Hmmm this box comes out on my husband’s birthday…the irony is not lost on me. Maybe it’s a sign to not get it 😉

  33. I’m actually excited about the box. I haven’t hit the overload point yet and I can share the stuff with my daughter 🙂

  34. I think this is a great box, but like others, I’m on product overload. I got the Tangle Teezer in an Allure Beauty Box and I love it, so that almost makes it worth it, but I’m reminding myself that I already own it!

I just went ahead and purchased the Urban Decay Naked Vault for $180 so “saved” $60 here, but I think I’m losing overall!

  35. Yay!! I’ve been waiting for the spoilers. There are several things that are already staples for me and other things I’ve been wanting to try. No regrets for jumping on the pre-sale. Looking forward to receiving the box!

  36. As I clicked on the link I thought “please, please, please be boring.” The last thing I need right now is more temptation. I’m so relieved that I don’t want this box. Now, the Bare Escentuals Mystery box over the weekend…I was sweating that one out all day. I even went so far as to start my purchase but managed to talk myself out of it when it came time to enter my card information. I was so relieved when the day was over and I couldn’t break down and purchase it. One point for willpower, zero for subscription box addiction.

    • Good job!

    • I was not so successful re the Bare Essentials Mystery Box! I was like you – kept trying to resist, but alas, I failed……

  37. this is definitely a step down from the Algenist and Michael todd in the winter 2015 box, those two alone were valued at over $200…gonna have to think this one over.

  38. I will pass because I have way too many similar products — especially the haircare stuff! — but I do appreciate that there are a few different things thrown in like the electric toothbrush, the Sonia Kashuk bag, the Tangle Teezer and the blister cushions. Those who pre-bought yesterday, don’t worry, I think you will like it once the box is actually in hand.

  39. Items 1 thru 4 add up to over $54. So for me, I’m basically paying for those items and getting the rest for free. I’m very happy with that. Thanks for the spoilers, Liz!

  40. This was going to be my first Allure beauty thrills box, but I think I will wait for the next. I am just not feeling any excitement with the spoilers. I thinks its a great value, but I have so much already, that it has to justify the work I would have to put into reorganizing my bathroom to put it all.

  41. Yeah, I’m passing on this too. I am surprised that they are including products that were in the Walmart and Target beauty boxes, I thought the Allure boxes were supposed to be a bit more upscale. A couple years back they were worth getting excited about but now? Meh.

    • These Beauty Thrills boxes that come out three times per year have always been almost entirely drug store brands, with one to three higher end products added.

This IS a little underwhelming in that sense since there’s only one (Rituals body cream) and it’s not a particularly pricey or exciting product. But otherwise this is fairly typical.

    • Maybe it was the brands they picked, but when reading the list of contents, I felt like I was looking at a Target Beauty Box on steroids!

  42. Very underwhelming. I guess that leaves me more money for other boxes 🙂

  43. Hmmm I am on the fence about this box. Nothing I really need. I might get a single box if not sold out.

  44. I’m not immediately sold. I want 15 of the 20 items…guess I just need to decide if they’re worth $60 to me…
    I thought this would be a no-brainer but instead I’m glad I didn’t buy the pre-sale.

    • Same feeling here. They are lacking on that high dollar item that pushes me over the edge.

  45. I went for the pre-sale and am a little disappointed in this box. It looks like the drugstore brands are continuing just like in 2015; they had a couple of higher end boxes in 2014. There’s nothing with drugstore brands but 3 boxes with repeats (if it follows the 2015 model) is not so thrilling.

  46. I’m out. Not thrilled about ANYTHING in the box. I’m kindof relieved. I’m on product overload.

  47. I’m a little disappointed in this box. Usually there is one top notch skin care item (like the Algenist product in the last box) that makes the box a super value. Quite a few of the items in this box have bad or lackluster reviews, too. Also, this box seems super-focused on hair rather than skin care this time.

  48. I’ve been loving my Allure monthly beauty boxes, but I don’t want this. There’s not enough that I really want and it all looks like Target/Walmart type stuff.

    • Agree

  49. Hmmmm…. I was really looking forward to getting another beauty thrills box but this is kinda underwhelming. Was hoping for at least one “higher-end” makeup product to be included like many past boxes had.

  50. Maybe I am just on product overload but nothing in the box really *thrills* me .

    Pass ?
