Each box comes with an insert card, but the contents of the box are not included. This March, the theme is “Alter Ego” and says the lip products we received will help us switch our looks between sweet and sultry. Ooo!
Uncle Funky’s Daughter - Supercurl Miracle Moisture Creme (2oz) - $5.50
I’ve never seen this brand before! Awesome, I love when I discover “new to me” brands through subscription services. The consistency is very thick and it smells very good too. The label says it’s free from cruelty, parabens, mineral oils and more. Made for thick curl patterns, this creme is said to be great for defining and moisturizing dry or damp hair.
Acure - Brightening Facial Scrub (1oz) - $2.50
In my opinion, you can never have enough scrubs! Body, hands or face scrubs, I’m in! I have a few full sizes open right now, lucky for me it came sealed. Perfection. I’m looking forward to trying it by summer. It’s got great reviews on different sites but I noticed they all suggest using this in the shower due to the dark green color and says it gets messy when you wash it off.
Earth’s Nectar - Green Olive & Lavender Scalp Oil (1oz?) - $4.60
I really enjoyed the other sample of scalp oil I received from this brand a few months ago in another subscription. I’m happy to try it again in a different fragrance. I remember it being gone way too fast. LOL!! I know it’s a scalp oil and I shouldn’t use it all but if the ingredients are right, and it smells good, I’ll drip a few drops into a bath or use it on my skin after a shower. I try to multipurpose everything!
Cargo Cosmetics - Powder Blush in Big Easy - Full Size - $26.00
Let’s not dwell on the obvious, I’m over it already anyway. Sorta! I have a ton of blushes, this one had an awful chalky cast on my skin tone. This was only my second experience with this brand and unfortunately it’s just not for me. I don’t have any other positive notes, so I’ll move along now…
Cailyn Cosmetics - Bright On Eye Balm - Full Size - $15.00
This is a primer for your eyeshadow. I haven’t tried it on my eyes yet. I’m not sure how well it will work for my skin tone after it sets. It’s quite opaque which you’ll see in the swatch below. I love the original UD primer potion and I like the BB 5-n1 from Bare Minerals regardless of what color they are out the container. I can’t knock it off yet, but it’s very intimidating! I’m sure those of fair skin will have no problem with blending this out.
Cailyn Cosmetics - Pure Lust Extreme Matte Tint in Classicist #12 - Full Size - $19.00
Oooo! I love this matte lipstick. This is my second one from Cailyn Cosmetics. I’ve received a number their products thanks to subscription services. The color is very similar to a brick, lots of brown and red. It dries slower than other mattes I’ve tried before but I’m fine with that. I mix my mattes with other lip colors all the time and I love having a little more wiggle room to adjust my overall lip color.
Medusa’s MakeUp - Lip Gloss in Bite Me - Full Size - $9.00
Wow! It’s very bright red gloss you’d think by the packaging and the swatch, but it’s sheer for the most part. It glides on the lips very well and isn’t sticky or overly fragranced. I love it.
Verdict: This month, the Onyx Box had an estimated retail value over $81.00! That’s really amazing. I love that we received a mixture of face, beauty and hair brands this month. I don’t know if it’s a permanent change or not, but I love the new box and that there isn’t so much of the black straw. It’s quite messy and horrible for photography. Another plus, none of this items are available near me. Our Sephora, Ulta and WholeFoods are across town and I believe most of the products are only sold online. Despite the blush incident, this is probably my favorite We Are Onyx box to date, and I’m looking forward to April!
