Each box comes with an insert card, but the contents of the box are not included. For February, Team Onyx has prepared Valentine’s Day essentials and it says they picked a mixture of full sized beauty and skincare products that celebrate “You”.
Shea Moisture - Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie x2 - (30ml ea) - $4.00
This styling cream says you can control frizzy hair and adds definition. I polished off a jar of this creme last year. Shea Moisture products work great in my thick curls, and I’m happy to see anything from their brand, even in foil packet form. LOL! FYI, there are easy opening notches on both ends.
Ofra - Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Bel Air (.27oz) - $19.99
I have a growing list of products from Ofra thanks to subscriptions services. I really like the formula and the vanilla scent. They dry matte, but you can easily mix it with another lippie during application for a different look.
Unknown Brand - Travel sized - All-Over Eyeshadow Brush - $5.00?
Unfortunately, my brush came uninscribed. I’m not sure on the name or the cost. I linked a similar shaped brush by Lancome, but I’m positive this one doesn’t cost nearly as much. Brushes of all types are welcomed in subscription services, name branded or not. This one is really soft and it appears and feels to be synthetic hairs.
Mirabella Beauty - Eyeshadow Single in Cultured #02 - (2g) - $5.00
I’m love this shade of plum, I wish it were more pigmented than it appeared. I don’t think I have anything from this brand, a few years ago I want to say I picked up a lipliner in a subscription, but nothing remarkable to repurchase.
One Love Organics - Skin Savior - (.6oz) - $16.40
Certified organic and brand new to me, that’s a win. This balm can be used in a few different ways: remove makeup, cleanser, and you can mix it with mineral powder for an illuminated glow. For me the scent is too strong to leave on my face all day. I melted some down on the back of my hand and it absorbs almost completely. It’s unique for sure, but I must say, it’s so strong in scent, I haven’t been reaching for it in the morning as a daily cleanser.
Honeycat - Vanilla Butter Cream Grooming Bar - (3.75oz) - $6.00
Super cute packaging! I’ve never seen this brand before. I haven’t used it yet, but it smells nice. I’m not a big fan of bar soaps, they tend to strip all the oils from my skin. I have two open bar soaps in my shower caddy now. I’ll be able to add it in another week or so.
Verdict: We Are Onyx February Beauty Box had an estimated retail value of nearly $57.00. The value of the contents are well over the cost of the subscription service and I was introduced to two “new to me” brands. If you count the eyeshadow brush, we received 4 full sized products. I’m thoroughly satisfied with the February box and my favorite item is the Ofra lipstick. I only wish that the curation wasn't based around Valentine's Day considering shipping is at the end of the month.
Did you receive the same products last month?
